  1. There's a formula that's used based on things like how many years a player was in our development squad, first team appaearances etc. It also depends on things like which league the team that signs him is playing in. Because Cadden has come up through the ranks, that counts in our favour. It was the same formula that was used when Lee Erwin moved and landed us about 400k (from memory). It applies up until the player is 23 years old. It's also what makes it near impossible to sign any youngsters from the lower leagues in Scotland as it puts them well outside the transfer fee range we are prepared to pay. I don't have time right now to dig out all the details, but I found this piece that discusses the formula used in England (I think it's different for cross border, but gives a decent idea) It's also a little out of date: That calculation was referenced in a discussion about kids moving from club to club when they were 13 or 14 years old.
  2. The development fee alone is north of 600k.
  3. Not before time. They'd be better off playing in the Morrison's car park these days.
  4. Our pitch was 10 times worse than Aberdeen, Celtic or Heart's current efforts. There was more sand on it than Troon's beach. The criticism was 100% deserved. Likewise, the praise now is 100% deserved as they have turned it into the best surface in the top flight.
  5. Every time I have seen us win the cup we had to beat Aberdeen away and dispose of Celtic in a later round.
  6. I don't know if it's McFadden or his manager/agent, but any time he is looking for a new club it always seems to take months to secure a deal. No disrespect to the guy, but if he's not cutting it at QoS I'm not sure what standard of overseas team will be interested. Having said that, a league where the style of play is a less frantic than the Scottish game might help extend his career an extra year or two.
  7. Aye, while he's obviously biased(!) Hartley was saying on Mixlr that having McHugh in front of him and Carson behind him inspires a huge amount of confidence in his game.
  8. Mixlr doesn't archive broadcasts as far as I know. However, I have seen the official twitter feed use the Mixlr commentary when they show the "from another angle" goals, so maybe the club keeps the recordings.
  9. I never understand people who want teams they hate to go bust. Do you just want to play teams you like? Where's the fun in that? Much more satisfying beating Accies in the cup.
  10. Good win (which is always the bottom line in a cup tie), but seems like we have got some freshness back into the side again after the break.
  11. Hartley still getting his digs in at Imrie on Mixlr.
  12. Very true. It's acoustically perfect if you are listening on a smartphone 3000 miles away.
  13. Stevie Kirk and Big Mick have been on before too. Also a good listen. I think Skippy has also been on, but he's on so many broadcasts I might be misremembering. Back to the game, Accies obviously have to bring it on in the second half, so should be some good opportunities to hit them on the break.
  14. Decent first half, made all the more entertaining by Hartley on mixlr.
  15. Aye, you lucked out with Lewis Irons and a 'Well player (Hartley in this instance). Best case mixlr scenario! Oh, and btw, GOALLLL!!
  16. Yes, Vypr is available on all platforms. Hola appears to work too, but I have never used it as it's a little sketchy in the way it routes other users traffic through your device.
  17. I was reading an article yesterday about some of the Cup upsets over the years. Of course, one mentioned was Accies victory at the newly EBT funded Rangers. What I had forgotten was that after their famous victory, we beat them in the next round. I think we'll nick this one too.
  18. It is, yes. If you want a free option, Vypr VPN is excellent and gives you 1GB of data to test it out before you need to pay for it.
  19. Likewise for Dundee Utd. Last few games I have seen them play they looked murder. Would fancy any Premiership team to take see them off over 2 legs.
  20. My biggest problem is that, even with the best commentators in the world, listening to a game on radio is murder. Not being able to see how close a shot came, if the keeper would have had it covered etc. makes everything seem 10 times worse.
  21. Scott Mullen and Lewis Irons are decent and sometimes there's an ex player joins them. Others can be a bit brutal and forget they need to describe the action and instead end up yelling at the ref like they are in East Stand.
  22. That's why Robinson said he's looking for a right sided defender, presumably. And Hammell is available at left back until the transfer window closes.
  23. Guys like Moult were brought in as part of the scouting system. Just because Robinson hasn't found anyone he fancies in the past couple of weeks doesn't mean it's suddenly a failure.
