  1. I'm not sure the core fan base has the right to much of a say. In an ideal world, obviously, you don't want to sell to a developer that is going to strip your assets and destroy the club. In this case, however, there has only ever been one option. Unless a sympathetic benefactor suddenly crawls out the woodwork, we don't have many alternatives. I would like there to be a consultation with Society members, but I doubt we can have that much influence over the final details. The ball is in Les' court and while I don't think he has any intention to harm the club in any way, he literally owns us. The point about crowds reducing and income revenues constrained is another argument in favour of Society ownership and our new approach to budgeting. As much as people like to complain (myself included) about the Society, it has provided essential loans to the club on multiple occasions since it was founded.
  2. Given your footballing knowledge and substantial wealth, I'm surprised you didn't just buy the club when it was up for sale.
  3. This site has been full of posters complaining how weak are in midfield this season, and now we are complaining a member of that midfield isn't called up for international duty?
  4. I know what you mean, and it is frustrating, but their hands are tied in this case and it's probably better not to be breaking the law.
  5. Would be David Clarkson all over again.
  6. Not saying it was the case here, but the rest versus surgery approach seems to quite a popular option in US sports these days. Probably because even the most successful surgery can still result in slightly reduced performance. Can't wait to see him back in the team, though. Our lack of goals has made our lives difficult.
  7. Only scoring 1 goal again has killed us. You don't win SPFL games when you only score one. People always go on about midfield and keepers etc. but always seem to give the strikers a free pass. Need to be much more clinical.
  8. Been saying it since the League Cup games. We need to sharpen up in front of goals and kill games off when we are on top.
  9. If it uses flash you'll need a different browser on an iPad.
  10. I use LiveMediaPlayer on my iPad. You need to search for a stream at game time, but it has a pretty extensive list.
  11. CMWellFan will have it on at his holiday villa. Any taxi driver will be able to take you there. Are you looking for a bar or an internet stream?
  12. No need to be old (although I am) - he still does a radio show on the BBC every week.
  13. Only that it's too short, and allows internet access.
  14. If it's not the basement in his parents' house, I'd guess HMYOI Polmont.
  15. Is that a day release programme?
  16. What U20s do you think are ready for promotion that won't get played at some stage this season?
  17. 1st of September can't come soon enough.
  18. Like I said, it's because keepers are a different beast. If a young midfielder shows some talent for example, they will get a few minutes here and there in the first team and can easily step in and out the fringes of the squad. Keepers generally are nowhere near their peak at 18 or 19, and nobody is going to give them 10 minutes of game time as a sub every couple of weeks. So it's a weird situation made even more difficult by the elimination of reserve teams. Now when you are too old for the U20s you really struggle to get game time.
  19. If we lose Marvin, I'm pretty sure we'll sign a left-sided replacement.
  20. That tends not to be the way it works with keepers. They probably have a similar success to failure ratio as outfield players, but of course, there are far fewer of them.
  21. Sadly, that rules out a return of Ruddy and Randolph, both of whom gifted a few goals during their tenure.
  22. When Moult was fit last season, McGhee's preference was 3 up front. I see no reason he won't go with that again.
  23. Can I be the first to say "this must be a great chance to beat them"? And add my usual comment that with our league record at Ibrox in recent seasons, they could play their U15 team and still find a way to beat us. I'll take a boring 0 - 0 at this stage.
  24. Would be helpful if we scored some goals up the other end though. Don't usually win games in the SPFL when you score just one.
