Couldn't agree more. Looking forward to see what new signings we wrap up before the window closes and then how the team develops over the season.
-
Maybe, but overall, would you rather have Accies squad or ours? As nice as it would be to have the best SPFL player in every position, its unrealistic at best.
-
As far as the maths goes, if 2000 adult members pay 10 quid a month for 3 years, then thar generates 720k (plus any interest if that is permitted). So adding that to the initial amount raised would appear to push over the 1 million required to pay back the loan. As others have said, you can stop at any time and still keep your membership. I think the underlying idea came from Hearts scheme where you can continue to pay and increase the sum available to the club for future interest free loans. It's not a bad model if you can afford it.

Aye, let's swap Accies last 5 seasons for ours. We'll finish above them this season I'd wager. Looking forward to steeboy's payout on his "None of our strikers will score 5 goals" bet too.

Looking at the line on the grass and the wonders of youtube pause, it looked to me that Moult was in line when the ball was played. I can see why the flag was raised though as it was very tight.
-
It's not just his interest free loan. Les has brought a business acumen and professionalism that we had let slip in recent years. Not that I blame the previous board - it's easy to fall into fan mode when you are running a club you support. Now Paypal is finally on offer, I was happy to sign up for my monthly. A good first step to addressing the issues the long distance and overseas members face. Hopefully broadcasting, or at least recording, society meetings will be next.

If people are repeating the same mince, I'll happily call them out on it. They can certainly hope to be entertained, and I think it's fair to say in the past 4 or 5 years, entertainment has been on show more often than not. I'm pretty sure, however, the current squad isn't playing badly just to annoy you. Maybe they aren't quite good enough to do that yet. We could well end up exactly there at the end of the season. I'm interested to see how we progress in that direction. I'm not expecting miracles before the end of August, though, because football doesn't work like that.
-
Do you remember why we played Rangers? It was because we were 2nd bottom of the league. You don't change a team that bad that quickly. If we do turn it around, it's going to take months not weeks.
-
Formation is somewhat irrelevant as long as you have numbers in the box when you attack and numbers back behind the ball when you defend. I'm not sure what you want to do about the cracks though. This is the squad we are playing with this season and a win's a win. The cracks in the team that got us to 2nd under McCall were huge, but manageable when big Higgy and Sutton were banging in the goals. Going to take a while to fix things.

Just be aware they sell your bandwidth to other people that they can then use for attacking websites, running spambots etc.
-
Skippy removed from penalty duties, then.
-
Oh, and better Les than that dodgy South American consortium.

I wouldn't believe any stories, quotes or information that comes from that particular rag. The man himself has spoken mamy times to fans (and MFC TV) where it's more difficult to twist words, misquote or take things out of context.

Transfer strategy has been our big weakness in recent years. If we want to be self financing signing guys like Fletcher, Moult, Kennedy, Marv and Laing is the way forward. Only takes one of them to get sold for a million and it has paid dividends.
-
If we are bringing in new players to replace guys that haven't performed in the opening games, we might need another 8 or 9.
-
If Baraclough keen to play McDonald deeper (or maybe Skippy himself wants that), then that gives us 4 strikers. Which really isn't a huge number as I don't think we have anyone in te U20s close to stepping up. 2 starters and 2 cover.
-
Depends if he's fit or not. Fletcher and Moult are still coming up to speed after a pre-season. However, it's a lot easier to come straight in as a striker than it is central midfield. It doesn't make me happy I was right about Talyor, though. It just make me right
-
Let's go 4-2-4 Ripley Watt McManus Laing Hammell Ainsworth Johnson Fletcher Moult Robinson McDonald They won't be expecting that line-up
-
I think the McFadden situation definitely played into it. I get the feeling, however, that if he did sign for us there would be a whole new thread on how he tracks back less than Lionel.
-
When he can be bothered he is a good player. Seems to be far too many games when he really doesn't bother, though.
-
BBC gave up on that due to cutbacks, unfortunately. I'm with you on this - I was hoping we had an MFC TV (or radio) replacement in place sooner, but I can see how it might be financially unviable.
-
Not only do strikers miss chances, but good strikers don't let misses worry them. I thought Moult's finish at Methil was a strike of a guy wot confidence.
-
Probably an age thing, but while Ferguson was very good, he wasn't in the great Scottish midfielders class like a Souness or even a Gary McAllister - both of whom proved themselves on bigger stages.

I thought I was the old man on here. https://www.periscope.tv It's the Twitter owned app that lets you broadcast live video from your phone to your followers.

Just use Periscope and a decent 4G connection.
