  1. Missed it again. Wasn't paying attention to the noon kick off game, but it wouldn't let me enter the 3pm kick-off predictions either.
  2. That's probably true. I think it's just that our failures have been worse in the League Cup in my time. Our Scottish Cup let downs have more often been to half decent teams - but that might be confirmation bias on my part.
  3. Aye, open all mics should be fine without a proxy. It was the live broadcast of games that needed.one, but sadly that isn't an option these days. I tend to follow on Twitter these days as the BBC coverage can be pretty dire.
  4. There's definitely been more low points in the League Cup than Scottish Cup during my time following the 'Well. I still look forward to it every year though and would be delighted to win it given it's 50% of the silverware we will have a chance to collect. I have a few tales to tell about why the 2005 final was a particular disaster for me, but always remain hopeful each year will be the year.
  5. If you go to: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/scottish-premiership there should be a link on that page.

Get him on with Bobby Graham - the dream team.
  7. So we'll not be seeing you at the final, then?

    Aberdeen Motm

Kenny Miller managed to stay as Scotland's number one striker with those credentials (minus the winning headers part).
  9. Given the state of our defence, pretty much any opposition striker is more or less certain to score. Still think we can win it, though.
  10. And no 4" studs allowed on his boots.
  11. Aye, it's always annoyed me that clubs can do these "undisclosed fee" deals behind closed doors.
  12. Well, Craigan said he wanted the U20s to mirror the senior team.

    Jake Taylor

He still shouldn't have started at Tynecastle.
  14. I'd take your pairings one step further. The great teams play with triangles.

The club typically doesn't go out of it's way to confirm anything. Ojamaa, Anier and even Erwin fees were all kept quiet. However, at fan and Well Society Q & As they will normally give some sort of confirmation. I'm pretty confident we'd have a number of add-ons in there though, as it is standard practice and something we have done as far back as the McFadden deal.
  16. As if I wasn't doing badly enough in the league, I also forgot.
  17. It is, but it's pretty meaningless if you don't take into account the oppositon, who else was present/absent in the team at the time. And he was part of the team that rolled over to Accies, Thistle and St, Mirren at the end of last season. Not saying that was his fault, or that he's not an important player - just that pulling out win % for a team based on a single player is too simplistic.
  18. And in our case, we got the best value from players like Porter, Ojamaa, Anier - all from other clubs.
  19. Aye, sounds terrible. Glad we punted him before anybody offered us 2 million. Would have been an embarrassment accepting that kind of offer.
  20. Don't bite. He just looks to see who everyone else thought had a decent game and takes the opposite point of view. Remember, this is the guy who spent months trying to convince us Higdon was mince.
  21. You can say that again, but sadly par for the course. Most weeks there were a number of posts on here of the "hides in games" and "too lightweight" category. Seems like the best way for one of players to get credit is to leave.
  22. It's amazing how inflated the prices are down south. If we had managed to get that for him, we could have paid Les back in a single shot and still had a few quid left over.
  23. I'd rather have an average right footed player at right back than a good left footed player. It causes too many problems as they instinctively drift out of position and struggle to pass a ball up the line with their wrong foot. It's one of the reasons we struggled when Hammell was out and kept slotting in righties. Of course, ideally, I'd prefer an excellent right footed player at right back.
  24. The owner's approach is to bring in some promising youngsters (for a relatively small fee) with the aim to sell them on for a profit. While the initial outlay is slightly larger, to me that is a more sustainable business model than bringing in players of free transfers and then releasing them free 2 years later.
