42 points should be enough. If we had a striker that could score goals it would be a comfortable target. But if we had a striker that could score goals we wouldn't be in the bottom 6. I'd take 4 away games and Killie at home if it meant not having to play on that joke of a pitch again.
  2. Saw a bit of the Cardiff game yesterday and Turnbull had a run out in the second half. After his lay off with his most recent injury he looked like he was getting back to full fitness. Cardiff, however, are looking set for the drop.
  3. Zero. Nil. Nada. None. Nowt. Take your pick...
  4. I wish we'd stop referring to it as a Cup Final, because we usually lose those. Let's just call it a big game and give ourselves a chance.
  5. Unless Wimmer chooses to share his contract details with the media, that will be confidential. However, as anyone can resign at any time, he wouldn't really need an exit clause - it would just be a matter of negotiating the details for leaving. Ditto for sacking him.
  6. If they don't include defensive ability, then he's no use as a defender.
  7. Even when we beat Rangers and Dundee, Casey gave away both the goals we conceded. As I've said before, I understand why people like Casey for his energy and disruptive nature in the oppositions' box. As a defender, though, he's constantly out of position, and struggles to pass the ball to his own team members. A liability, especially when he's paired up with Blaney - something like 3 clean sheets playing together in the league. There comes a point when the mentality of a defence is just broken and they are incapable of performing at the required level. For me, it was obvious we had passed that point last season. Some of our central defenders may go on and perform better elsewhere, but I honestly can't think of any combination of the current crop that I'd look at before a game and think "clean sheet".
  8. No. I was specifically talking about our back 3 defensive personnel. That has been our weak spot for the past 2 or 3 seasons (at least), so Casey & Blaney can go without contract renewals. I thought Gordon would be a step up, be hasn't lived up to his early promise either. So I'm fine with him leaving too. No point trying to tweak what we have. We must have tried every possible combo without being close to successful. Sometimes you just need start again. Hartley and Aldred were probably our last 2 good central defenders, and that's the level we need to find again.
  9. We've ditched a few under those circumstances in the past. If Wimmer tells them they aren't part of his plans, I'm sure arrangements can be made.
  10. We have tried a few different shapes, but the underlying issue is that Wimmer wants us to be more comfortable with the ball and only about half the team is good enough for that. In particular, the central defensive 3 struggle to make one pass between them. After our defensive atrocities in the previous season I was 100% on board with dumping them all and rebuilding from scratch. Would be equally happy for that to happen this summer.
  11. A game and a performance worthy of the pitch. Take your pick...
  12. Dundee won't win today. We won't finish 11th. Livi aren't going to make it to the play-off game. That's my bold predictions for today.
  13. Dundee often score early. Their big issue this season is they struggle to hold on to a lead.
  14. Have they narrowed the pitch? That's a lot of green behind the linesman.
  15. Hard to imagine, but you can see already that the bounce on that pitch is even worse than usual.
  16. Anyone else old enough to remember when people at least made an effort with these?
  17. Aye, I miss the safe hands and club stewardship of John Boyle.
  18. If you've used a VPN recently, sometimes that gets cached by the browser and you need to clear out all the cookies and restart to get it to recognise the US again.
  19. Great work from Paton to beat his man and stand up a cross just begging for a finish.
  20. I'm watching the video stream right now, same as usual.
  21. Despite my snark, I do agree with the issues around yellow cards. I understand why they are in place, however, as without them, there would be 100 yellow card appeals every week from across the leagues.
  22. Another 15 of these and they'll be half way towards making up for Dunne staying on the park after his assault on Mika.
  23. TBF, there have been quite a few comedic performances on the park this season too.
