The team we had the first half of the season was the team that had just come off a 2nd place finish - and they were mince and won a grand total of 10 points. After Bara came in we won another 26 points.
I think the gaffer deserves a chance of a full pre-season to work with his signings before we judge. Was also encouraging to hear in his interview they were planning for the January window too.
I think there is talent is in the Conference with a few teams throwing around silly money. I followed Forest Green Rovers when I lived down in Gloucestershire, and still try and catch a game or two on the internet when I can. While they're not the finished product by any means, there are guys there with plenty of potential.
You can see why players need to be careful talking to the media.
What Wes Fletcher said in his interview
What the ET headline says
A subtle difference there.
In his recent interview, Bara said there was no panic, and he expected players to arrive in dribs and drabs over the summer.
Of, course, he would say that
Unfinished business could also mean winning a league title (or a play-off) with a lower league team. Or even just proving a point to his last employer they shouldn't have let him go.
Sounds like the kind of player we should be signing - assuming he is any good of course. From his interview it seems Bara had been tracking him for a while, so obviously believes he will fit in to the system. Hoping he is one of those guys who does all his talking on the park.
Right. So your comment about our summer signing policy wasn't really about our summer signing policy at all.
I'm in the "wait and see" camp too. I didn't want Sutton to come back after Higdon left, but he turned out to be a solid signing and I'm happy to admit I was completely wrong on that one.
Clarkson thrived in the attacking set-up McGhee liked to use, so hopefully playing with a couple of wingers will be to his advantage. I'm not ready to write him off yet.
You mean Chalmers? or Clarkson? Or Ainsworth? Or Dom Thomas (who we tied down on a deal earlier in the season)?
I have no idea how good a signing he'll be, but this forum was full of posters gagging for him to be signed last season.
Clarkson is an interesting one. Started last season on fire then only scored one goal in 2015. He should get plenty of chances, so hopefully he brings his shooting boots.
Delighted to see him pen a new deal. Nothing beats watching a winger in full flight, and he has the right product with his crosses too.
As others have said, he can also put one of the sweetest strikes on a ball I have seen at Fir Park.
