Are you claiming Humphrey had a good game on Saturday? Because that's what this thread is all about.

Frankly, I don't believe any professional ref 'has it in' for any team. And if, for one second, I decided to believe he did have it in for us, why did he award the free kick we scored from when he could easily have called it as a fair tackle?

Definite? So McCall told you that himself did he? You often confuse your own opinions with fact on here. Why should Forbes be a straight swap for Keith? Are we only allowed to have one style of player in the team? Do you seriously expect us to have clones for every first team player? That's just deluded.
  5. Aye, seems like the SPL stopped selling the games overseas. Or maybe the OF decided to hold onto their individual rights. Should be plenty of links for the Rangers game. Just hope it's worth watching

Changing the shape of a team to accommodate the strengths of your available players sounds like common sense tactics to me rather than a lack of faith.
  7. After their win, goal difference was the same as ours. So next factor is goals scored. They had scored 5 at that stage to our 4.
  8. I'd be delighted if we did, but I can't see it. Although the Fir Park games are usually tighter affairs.
  9. You can rotate on the VLC player too.
  10. It feels like I have only been here a couple of years, but it's actually 14 years this month.
  11. With the access I have to the stories on here, the Twitter feed, and the occasional non-UK internet feeds, it's sometimes me that keeps them up to date!
  12. We get pretty well served over the net these days. Saw the Killie game online live this season, and can watch the BBC Alba broadcasts online too. Then I download a Sportscene torrent every week. So get to stay reasonably close to the action (or as close as telly/internet can allow). With the use of proxies, I can access the BBC Scotland live commentaries too, but I don't enjoy those as much and sometimes give them a miss. A few years ago, we used to get SPL games on American telly too, but that doesn't happen any more. I used to try to get to a couple of games a season at Fir Park, but haven't managed that so much recently.
  13. We definitely have the players to play counterattacking football away from home, so I'm never surprised to hear the home team has more possession. It sounds like we made better chances, though, and making (and taking) chances is the name of the game.

From what McCall has been saying it sounds like Higdon has been suffering from injuries and still a bit behind the rest of the team in fitness. Haven't seen today's highlights, but in the other games I've seen (albeit on telly) he seems to have put in a decent shift and had some nice touches around the box. Will take a little time for him to strike up an understanding with his new team mates. Remember the slow start Jutkiewicz got off to, but he turned out OK.
  15. I never bother reading the OF reports, but I doubt they are any more accurate. The BBC has trouble recognising Scotland on the map (and I include half of BBC Scotland in that observation).
  16. And so the stereotype of students being too lazy to even scroll through a thread and/or unable to read continues to be reinforced. And no, I'm not bitter just because I had to work a summer job to buy my non-discounted season ticket when I was a student.
  17. I had 'The Lip' in the sweep for the first poster to respond on this thread. Apparently I win a Mars Bar.
  18. Was that the day before the CIS Cup Final?
  19. The "bag of matchball" transfers is why UEFA implemented the rule - to help fund the investment at grass roots level. Unfortunately, it looks like they have gone to the other extreme and, in this case at least, hampered the prospects of the amateurs.
  20. +1 on that. After 41 seasons of following this mob, any year we don't get relegated is never a really bad one!
  21. Nobody said we can't. We're just not assuming we bring in a player or two and keep Randolph and Murphy. So for now, it's too early to tell. If we could guarantee our starting 11 on the pitch every week, we'd have a great chance, but it's very much a squad game, and we still lack depth.
  22. Hassebaink scored 3 times for Accies in 27 games. He's a decent enough player, but so are most strikers in the SPL. Inevitably, a striker for another team will score a goal against us. It's no big deal. I'm sure St. Mirren are worried about Higdon and Murphy and I'm more confident they will score than Hasselbaink (even if he does win his appeal).
  23. Neither of the examples you quote were anything to do with standing (safe or otherwise). Hillsborough was caused by (potentially criminal) negligent police crowd control and the Cup Final was due in large part to drunkeness. So at least bolster your case with some relevant supporting evidence. You don't need to worry about losing your wee plastic seat just because some standing areas are introduced. You'll still have the choice to sit through a game with your knees on your chin and your neighbour's elbow in your ribs.
  24. If it's been 6 years, then you must have other reasons beyond the 3 Lions. Maybe, if Scotland ever managed to get to the World Cup finals someone would sponsor us too.
  25. What if the majority of fans wanted the rules changed? What if the Chairmen of the clubs wanted the rules changed? What if Members of Parliament wanted the rules changed?
