  1. Two types of box I never mess with: jellyfish & wine. (I know there are all too good for crackers; you're welcome)
  2. Turns out "swipe to mute" also works on kids.
  3. Suffered a traumatic event playing Tetris as a kid and to this day I have trouble fitting in.
  4. Nah. We'll raise our game like we did against Celtic and come away with a narrow defeat.
  5. All Puff 'n no Stuff One for the kids to google Make your choice...
  6. Seems like every time a striker in Scotland has a good season that Rangers become favourites to sign them. I can't remember the last time that actually happened though, as they always like to take a punt on the more exotic continental variety.
  7. Is it not the COO's job to run the day to day? That's why, for example, St Mirren employed Las in that role. Lots of clubs don't even use the CEO model, so it's not a necessity for running a football team - or running a business for that matter. It's just one approach of many. Anyway, as far as the communication we've seen goes, we hired a head hunting firm and we haven't found anybody qualified that wants to do the job. That's not that surprising, at least to me, as a good CEO would likely need to take a pay cut to join us. So the only incentive would be if they were a Motherwell fan. Derek Weir would be a good option, but while he's a Motherwell fan he falls inside the "would need to take a big pay cut" category. Although it's good he is acting CEO for now. Alternatively, we can take a risk on someone that's never been a CEO before and hope they can step up. I'm still available for that option - just a phone call away.
  8. You might want to check the MOTM votes from the Celtic game two weeks ago.
  9. Christmas Gift Idea. Buy the ones you love a season ticket that only grants entry to the last 5 minutes of every home match. Take your pick...
  10. I must be getting old, but I can do without the "apologising to the fans" being rolled out. We're all (mostly) grown up Motherwell fans here, and been through it more times than the current squad. You're on a bad run of playing a game, not being accused of war crimes. There are no victims here. Just buckle down and sort it out by picking up a few points.
  11. Not often I'm glad I had to work and miss the game Take your pick...
  12. Ironically, if he had a wee bit more of an ego, he might already have moved on to better things. Hopefully he'll soon be somewhere his talent is fully appreciated.
  13. Rule number one when you're a manager is to never publicly throw your players under the bus. Any time you hear that you know they are out the door within the week. Steven MacLean at St Johnstone is the latest example of that in Scotland, and after Paul Heckingbottom's post-match at the weekend he's about to be replaced at Sheffield Utd.
  14. Crivvens, Jings & Help Ma' Boab! Finish your mince and stovies, then take your pick...
  15. Was a fan of his effort and he was a good foil for Moult. If you want a Premiership level goal scorer, however, he was not the man.
  16. Just watching the FA Cup highlights with Ryan Bowman getting a hat trick for Shrewsbury. What an absolute shambles of defending by Notts county to gift him all 3.
  17. I'd have said Casey, but Butcher is also a good shout.
  18. This all sounds a bit like the Dundee Utd model that was touted as an example to follow. Until they posted millions in debt and spent a few years in the Championship before getting promoted and relegated again. Ourselves and most (all?) of our peers have struggled to find the right balance for years. It's obviously not an easy problem to solve as nobody has cracked it yet.
  19. When he was ready to move from Fir Park I said at the time that somewhere on the continent would be ideal for Turnbull. His style is tailor-made for leagues where they prefer passing and possession. Even if he ends up leaving on a free and we get nothing, I still hope he gets a move to a team that appreciates his talents. Maybe the recent success of other Scottish players abroad will encourage him to take the chance.
  20. The entirety of December is more important than any individual match. 21 points up for grabs - I don't care if we are picking them up against Dundee or Rangers.
  21. 3 points off bottom, 7 points off a European spot, 24 games left to play. Any board putting on pressure at this stage needs to replaced with people that know something about football.
