  1. Aye and it worries me that some folks are writing Accies off. A 2-0 win at Pittodrie will give them a boost. Think we will win but not as easily as some suggest Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  2. Absolutely....it strikes me that exciting as Jake is, (and I watched him also in the reserves), he has been something new for opposition to contend with. Now he has had exposure our opponents will no doubt be working on ways of nullifying him as Celtic and Killie did to a large extent. The acid test for him is coping with that greater exposure and opposition attention. Then we will know if we truly do have a star in the making. As others have said the clubs record re young players shows far more rights than wrongs. IF we have got this wrong and Jake does move on for a development fee only, then sobeit, I certainly won't be critical towards those entrusted with these calls. 3. Nope contact lens excuse was defo thistle game HD Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  4. They are now bottom of the French second tier which seems incredible given where they were 10 years ago. Don't know if that will make your thundersticks even more valuable? ???? Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  5. Mjc post on page 20 is an absolute pearler Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  6. What a great post. One of the reasons I seldom come on here anymore is not because folk have different opinions (which is healthy) but because of the vitriolic and personal nature of some of the attacks on our manager, chief exec, and some players and fellow posters. I see the usual suspects have gone quiet, awaiting no doubt a defeat or poor performance to take to their keyboards again. Don't get me wrong, there were questions to answer and mistakes made, can't say any of us were happy at what we were watching. I just despaired at the lack of reasoned thought, balance and the vindictivness of some contributions. Suppose its easy sitting behind a keyboard. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  7. Just back and as a fully paid up member of the happy clappy club, I thought that was a disgraceful performance, dreadful selection against a team low on confidence, poor tactics, crazy substitutions just awful all round. I said after 15 mins this had a 1 nil defeat all over it against a truly awful team. Turnbull was cutting a frustrated figure at those around him. This kind of display won't help us keep the one genuinely class player we have. Worrying to say the least Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  8. Don't disagree with most of that. Interesting point re Sammon's attitude. This is entirely consistent with what I saw v Hibs in reserves. Totally committed, supporting and encouraging his team mates. Comparison with Ainsworth who I saw in reserves the week prior to McGhee getting sacked. Never moved out centre circle, gave the ball away every time, body language awful, couldn't give a stuff, subbed after 60 mins. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  9. Take a look at Sunderland til i die on netflix to see the pain short termism causes and how those trying to unravel that have an almost impossible job. Folks have no idea of the reality of trying to structure and run a club on a sensible budget. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  10. 3 games, another 2 if he 'misbehaves' again Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  11. Great move, know a few Alloa fans and they rate Hastie highly and are disappointed he isn't staying. A huge improvement on Frear. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  12. No it won't. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  13. Agree with you about Gorin and Donnelly. Gorin was tracked for a good while and Robbo knows Donnelly well from NI U21 duties. I think they could both still come good. ATS and Sammon the 2 who haven't worked out and if we could get them Frear and Newell off the books and even just 2 higher quality replacements we should be well placed for a decent finish to the season Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  14. Indeed but to be fair to DEWELL he did come back on post match to hold his hands up. It is interesting that the much criticised summer transfer strategy, looks far less questionable now with Aldred, Mbulu and Gillespie and DJ playing so well on Saturday, while the timing of Turnbull's introduction looks spot on. Hastie will be back in January a much improved player after his loan spell at Alloa, and we have seen why the clamour for Livingstone's introduction was premature at this stage. Fishing in the pond we do, every signing has an element of risk (look at some of wee Tommy's duds in the late 80s), but it looks like the strategy was not as bad as it may have looked 6 weeks ago. 15. Nope, time to get right in about them. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  16. That'll be the same Andy Rose just back from injury and subbed on after 5 minutes, having to play virtually the full game in a midfield that spent majority of its time chasing the ball. I remember the incident you are talking about and it was obvious he was physically spent. As others have said, not the most talented going forward, but put in excellent defensive shifts, allowing others to play. Seeing as we are picking up on isolated incidents, find a clip of Moults chipped goal v Hearts last season and watch whose initial challenge led to Tait getting the ball to Moult. Fully appreciated by team mates if not some of the experts in the stands. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  17. Sorry mate, didn't mean to quote you, just meant to add the comment....senior moment. Was a comment earlier in the thread alluding to about how bad we must be to get humped 7-1 by Rangers when they can't beat Dundee Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  18. I think St Johnstone this season are a different proposition. Number of new younger players and a more expansive style. Struggled early doors but since their 6-0 Celtic gubbing have been THE form team. Great achievement on lower crowds than us. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  19. we lose to Rangers 7-1, cuff Aberdeen 3 nil, they then beat Rangers 1-0, we draw with Celtic, then they cuff the league leaders 5-1 Every game is different, teams don't play at the same level or with the same personnel every week, Dundee are a better side now than they were 3 weeks ago, we were gash against Rangers but bounced back, Rangers have been rank since they gubbed us, comparing results as a future guide is useless Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  20. Agreed and it would be really refreshing to hear some praise from the doom and gloom merchants who predicted gubbings in these games Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  21. Brilliant post Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  22. Exactly this, a 90 mins chasing the ball is better done by a player who is not also having to play on Saturday. Thought Sammon was poor in first half, but much better second half. Main and Bowman fresh for Saturday. Manager got it right even though it seemed puzzling at first. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  23. I think you might be right, sure I saw a quote that Dunne is not going to make it but is expected to be back v Hearts Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  24. . 'All our big performances have been when everyone has worked there socks off. As soon as that drops we look awful ' This is my biggest concern, I mentioned it last season. The amount of effort the players have to put in to win with this style of football is simply not sustainable. Hence a lot of injuries and our inability to 'kick on' after the occassional big performance. They are spent physically and mentally. I'm desperate for Robbo to succeed and was cheered by the change of emphasis recently, but these comments worry the hell out of me. Really disappointing, just hope it is a misquote. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
  25. Wasn't the impression I got, but you may have more access than I to the inner workings. Agree he is a damned good footballer, had a very quick chat with him recently and loved his attitude. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk
