Okay we gave away a 3 goal lead but we didn't lose and move up a place in the table. Defence not the best in the league but big Bevis didn't give the superstar striker a look in. He had one chance in the game and his hair was given offside by the picture which was inconclusive according to the Dons commentator.
I though that was yet another ridiculous comment from the fud in the commentary box.
Well yes, his hair is stuck to his head so of course it can be offside as his head is a body part that can be used to score a goal.

When they made the double substitution at 3-0 it was our throw-in. We really have to do better than just handing the ball back to them. Who was marking Gartenmann for the second? Devine was at fault for the third and hopefully he'll learn from that.
-
Thought he was onside.

O’Donnell dropped. Kettlewell in!
Thought he was a midfielder? Square pegs in round holes, etc.

Add to that list the cash we are allegedly spending each year funding a women's team. For me that's a vanity exercise and the money could be better spent elsewhere.
Why should we not have a women's team? We're a community club and it's good for all of the young ladies in the area to have both male and female footballers to look up to. Women's football is growing rapidly in other countries with teams moving to 'men's' stadia and playing before huge crowds. Our club absolutely should be supporting this initiative and hopefully they'll be able to play regularly at Fir Park in the future.

He's team captain and came up from the English championship so I'd say he's certainly going to be one our highest paid players.
-
Paul Hanlon will apparently be available on a free at the end of the season. 34 but would boss our defence and might even make a good captain.

He certainly has, can't disagree with that. I just feel that SK singled him out yet other players can make mistakes but nothing mentioned.
Yeah, that's my point, maybe Kelly has been dealt with differently and in private. SK comes across as someone who is a good man-manager and, more often than not, he knows how to get the best out of his players.

What annoys me is SK publicly came out and slated Gent after Hibs game. Must be ok to slate Loan players.
Everyone reacts differently to criticism - Gent has been superb since that very public kick up the arse.

What's the deal with Callan Elliot? He's not been marked as injured or doubtful for this game or others. Is he so far away from match fitness that there isn't a point in mentioning him?
I read somewhere that he hadn't play a competitive game since June. If true then it will take some time.
-
Mark Ferrie and Callan Elliot really need to be playing if they want to extend their deals, hopefully we'll see both getting a good run before long.
McGinn and Spittal need to be offered improved deals to stay with O'Donnell possibly retained as a versatile backup but no longer a first pick. Nicholson might be worth holding in to if he wants to stay but will need to see how he is when fit.
SK can be added to the out of contract list too. I like him and hope that he succeeds but the next couple of months will need to see some improvement.

Och well, would've been a trip to Parkhead.
Just out of interest, does anyone know how much the club earns from a trip to Park head?
I'm not sure it's that much but then I've never been and am basing my opinion in the low numbers of our fans that are permitted to attend.
Or does the club get a share of the whole attendance?

I agree that Kelly needs to be "rested" but what we don't know is what SK thinks about Oxborough. He's a known unknown.
As it stands, the defence rightly has no confidence in their goalie and captain and he, rightly, has no confidence in them.
Not a complete unknown as he has played two cup games already.

We are not going to get gent we can’t afford him unless Blackburn decide not to offer any contract if they do then we would have to pay a development fee and we don’t have the money for that it’s a non starter I think🤡
Don't think that development fees are a factor with cross-border transfers or has that rule changed?
-
Buyabu is taking a lot of criticism on here but I thought that he did okay. Fired in a decent cross, tracked back, seems to be comfortable with the ball at his feet and quick too. Hopefully he can link up with Gent in a similar way to Montgomery.

We weren't going much further in the Cup anyway so getting some decent finance into our skint club would have been very welcome. Financially tonight is a disaster because we will will not receive any further Cup income.
Don't really see your logic. Why not hope for a winnable home draw in the next round then face one of those Glasgow clubs in the semis or the final? Surely those are worth more to us financially.

I stand by my prediction of us to wear our change kit even though we don’t need to (I know, I know, commercial reasons etc) and for us to lose.

We will be wearing our home kit for this match.

For me McGinn out injured was massive loss. Since he has come back we have been a lot more settled. McGinn Butcher and Casey would be my back 3 but to be fair to Bevis he done nothing wrong last night.
Bevis' confidence certainly seems to be coming back and he had another really good game. He's now much more willing to drive out of defence with the ball which he's actually pretty good at. By contrast he's been passing the ball on / getting rid and immediately taking backward steps for the past few months.

Bair had a good game last night in terms of general play but....he's a striker that missed, what, 5-6 really good chances in the match?
I actually think, strangely, that despite conceding five goals, their 'keeper looked really good, possibly their best player on the night with Dhanda. The two one-on-ones he did really well with and with Theo's dinked shot he came out and made himself big again, doing enough that the chance was missed. I'd put those chances down as good goalkeeping rather than bad misses by Bair.

What can you say about Blair Spittal?
Please sign a new three year contract with us?

Was giving it to Bair but after the 4th and 5th goals adding to an already solid performance there was only one winner.
