  1. I hear you! I have decided to bury my head in the sand, ignore all negativity and reality for the next 5 games and just be positive and look forward to each game being confident of getting a result. Then I have all summer to recover if it ends up we don't qualify for europe. First thing to look forward to though, is Aberdeen getting beat again on Friday night. That should help feed the self doubt and erode their confidence a bit more. once that starts happening McInnes wil lstart to tinker then they'll just go from bad to worse.
  2. Any news on who is available? regardless we will gub them!!! C'mon Ye 'Well
  3. I am hoping we keep the core of this team and are able to strengthen it a bit with a couple of shrewd signings so that we can go into europe with some guys that actually know each other............Of course thats hoping that we get there. 5 long games to go !
  4. well 4 out of five games, since they have way better goal difference, but even for them to win 4 out of five i think is beyond them
  5. I think 6 points will be enough to get third place but would rather get second !
  6. Depending on results last game of the season could quite possibly see us starting the game wondering if we will finish 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th I am hoping the last game is to determine 2nd or 3rd.
  7. Agree with both of you. I think there are quite a few on here assuming that we are going to be dropping points all over the place and that Dundee Utd and Aberdeen are going to be racking them up. The way the teams are I think the last 5 rounds of games are very unpredictable. Who knows how celtic are going to see out the season and while I think that St Johnstone and Inverness are not going to finish in the top 4 they could play a significant part in deciding who finshes 2nd 3rd and 4th. The 2 week rest may possibly be a bigger benefit to us than other teams. But regardless, we are by no means out of the race for second and in a good position to finish 3rd. Could we hav ebeen better off? Of course we could but then again every other team could say the same.
  8. going for 8 loss to Celtic, Draw Utd and aberdeen, beat St Johnstone and Caley I think if we can get 6 points in any form or fashion then we will finish 3rd. If we get 6 points........ St Johnstone can't catch us Caley would have to win all 5 games. I don't think that will happen. Dundee Utd. would have to get 12 points. I think, at best, they will get 11 points max Aberdeen will most likely finish second of we only get 6 points.
  9. Plus if County can take a couple of points off Caley tonight then that should ensure us a top 4 finish as I don't see them winning all 5 games post split
  10. Definately!!! I don't recall what the long ball was liike on the second goal but watching the first one was a joy to behold. You see him look up and then make a very deliberate weighted pass right into the stride of Anier. If gerrard or rooney had done something like that the commentators would have been creaming themselves.
  11. looks like he is coming onto a game at a good time and starting to find the net. Will help his confidence a lot and hopefuly we will reap the rewads
  12. Don't think there is too much to whine about with the fixtures. The results could go anyway on any given day so should make for an exciting climax to the season with the fight over 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. The remaining results pre split are huge and will go a long way to determining the final placings. If we can go into the split 9 points ahead of United then it will be very hard for them to catch us. Hopefully, goal difference does not come into play since Utd and Dons have a big advantage there. While it would be great to go to Pittodire and clinch second place the last day of the season, I am not sure that my heart could stand that !!! I'm all for wrapping it up sooner rather than later.
  13. I think "re setting" the league is a great idea that gives other teams a chance of winning the league. Which is precidely why it will never happen. I don't see anything wrong with a 14 team league where you play everyone twice. then split into 2 parts and reset the points. So now 2 mini leagues of 7 play each other twice. everyone gets 38 games with 19 home and 19 away. Resetting gives everyone a new chance to win the league or avoid relegation. Depending on how the first phase is going it may give more latitude for the introduction of youngsters. Problems now are that the regualr fixture list is unbalanced and it's pot luck who you get to play twice at home and once away and of course, who knows what the hell you will get stuck with post split. Even if you did not reset the points I think the 14 team league splitting into 2x7 is more fair and easier to manage.
  14. That's a brave statement Hey you started it!
  15. No brainer for me.............Play it at Fir Park. We've already beat them there before
  16. Right now they run that chance anyway, right? So at least they will know if they make top 4 they get 3 home games As it stands just now a team could come in second or third and miss out on a home game!
  17. We should be able to take 3 points from this but as always, only if we put the effort into the game. Killie are 11th in away form, win 2 draw3 and loose 10. On current form they are win1 draw1 loose 4. C'mon Ye 'Well !!!
  18. i would rather see them announce the split fixtures at the start of the season based on league position. The top 4 teams would get 3 home games with 5th and 6th only getting 2 home games.
  19. we have scored 50 and conceded 44 this season so far for +6 goal diference last season we ended up plus 16 67 for 51 against
  20. Maybe a thread all on it's own but I think we sould get McCall on a longer term contract. I know he has some shortcomings but I think he handles players well and his personality helps attract players to fir park. He does handle the media well also. He likes being here and the way the club us run, I'd be hard pressed to think of a manager i would like to replace him with. I think he has way more positive attributes than negative ones and if nothing else having him on a longer term contract either provides stability or a better chance of some decent compensation from any other club that wants him.
  21. Regarding item A, might as well make some money off them then Regarding item B, that will be done before the split. NEW item C Love to clinch second place spot at Pittodire
  22. We should be confident but hopefully the players go into every game now with the right attitude. We have no divine right to the 3 points. They need to go out on the park and perform well. The last 4 games prior to the split are our best chance to rack up some points but as mentioned it's up to the players to put in the performances to win the points. Especially when you look at Dundee Utd's run in to the split but we need to do our bit and win the games. Dundee Utd hearts (A) Caley (H ) *** any result good for us Aberdeen (A) *** any result good for us Celtic (H) Caley Thistle (H) D Utd (A) St M (H) 'Well (H) County(A) Aberdeen Killie (H) County(A) D Utd (H) Hearts(A) Already beat aberdeen twice. Bogey team ?? Hibs(A)
  23. Haivng read that are we sure that is correct? Early on it said if league winner wins the cup then runner up gets a spot, otherwise the runners up do not get a place in europa. Yet at the end he says if an ineligible team wins the cup then the runners up get a europa spot. Really ??? For the first scenario he states that UEFA mandated this so have they also mandated that if an ineligible teams wins it then runners up get the spot in europa cup?
  24. Should make for an entetaining, exciting, nerve jangling roller coater ride through the last 10 games as it probably means we need to put the focus on scoring goals since we can't stop the other teams scoring. A few more games with 5 or more goals in the offing???
