This is yet another massive game. Despite all hte moaning etc on here what a season this has been...........lost count of the number of massive games. For the most part the team has stepped up to the plate. Just one more time please lads!!!!! Even just 1 point will mean Utd have to beat at least 1 of the old firm teams to make our last game of the season mean anything. Of course if we get 3 points off Hearts then Utd have to win all 3 remaining games. Thats a lot of pressure!!
-
Lets hope we are only going into 1 huge game. Beat hearts and Utd don't win we are CL bound!
-
Ach yir a mile oot !!!
-
I fully expect our performances to improve mightily now that the dynamic duo will be back in action together. We are hard to beat when we have the 6 guys below all playing. Which has been about 3 out of the last 9 games. 2 of those against the old firm in 1 goal defeats. The other when Las got sent off in the cup. We will have our best team available for the last 4 games and I think we will see that reflected in our results. Hately Hutch Clancy Hammil Jennings Lasley

I know we are in the driving seat to secure third place but i'd gladly take any help from the other teams. A lot of conversation has been concentrating on how good Utd are and how they have momentum etc etc but we can take that out of the equation if we can grind out 2 results against St Johnstone and Hearts. Doesn't have to be pretty just get the points. Realistically I see Utd ( even with their momentum ) getting a max of 4 points before they play us so they go into the last game with 56 points. So even if we royally screw up over the next 3 games we should still have one last chance at home to redeem ourselves. On a more positive note if we can beat St Johnstone and Hearts it's celebration time at fir park and we can clap ourselves onto the field So it's not about Utd it's all about us and can we do the business against St Johnstone and Hearts. I think we can.
-
i wasn't even goign to look in this thread.........glad I did though..........good to see all the positive relaistic responses. all the talk of us throwing away a big lead etc ..............all the teams started dead even!! All that matters is where you end up. and I stil think that wil be third.
-
Would be good to embarrass them so that they buck up a bit for playing against the other teams!!
-
You would think that Hammil and Lasley are seeing out their careers here so good chance they would sign. Not sure that there are any better teams interested in clancy so he would be likely to sign. I think Jennings is the only doubt. Hopefully he will stay to sample champions league football. I would imagine there would be offers given to Craigan and Hollis at least. I think people are divided on Craigan but I think it's worth keeping him.

where in florida are you?
-
Should be 9am kick off florida time then. You need to look closer or ask about i am 100% sure there wil be a pub or hotel where you can go see the game. I live in Austin and there are bars here that open early ..yes that early and even earlier.........to show games live on saturday and Sunday. Sometimes 10 bucks cover charge depending on how they are getting the game. Some pubs will advertise EPL games etc but will have a celtic or rangers fan club attached and they show games. you may want to search florida celtic or rangers fan clubs. of course you may be in remote area and not have access to pubs?? I'll let other hi tech saavy people answer the actual streaming question. good luck

If results go like i think, then a win against St Johnstone and a tie against Hearts and we got third! After Celtic game we should have full squad again and raring to go.
-
i think we will be clinch third after round 3. here is what I see for the first 3 games Dundee Utd 1 + 1 + 0 sitting on 51 St Johnstn 1 + 0 + 0 sitting on 51 Hearts 0 + 1 + 1 sitting on 50 Motherwell 0 + 3 + 1 sitting on 59 So with only 2 games left we would have it over and done with. If only it was that easy!!!
-
Sounds liek the best idea to me. Quick haklf hearted applause and it's done and over. No incidents, no moaning, no effort, no reprisals, .................now get on with the game and get tore into them!
-
i'll take 0 - 0 against celtic in the first game, hoping for a draw in the Saints V utd game and Rangers to beat hearts or tie.
-
I don't see any of the teams outsdide the OF getting any more than 9 points so if we can make it to 60 I think we are good. Basically got to match or better our competitors for the 5 rounds but with a wee bit of room to spare.
-
We got married on a Friday. Spent the night at Poppinjay then off to firpark ( both of us ) on the sat afternnon then sunny Majorcy on the Sunday. That was Sept 18/19 1981. Can't recall who we played though.
-
Pleasing and somewhat surpising to see the positive responses. Maybe we wil see the doubters tomorrow or maybe the doubters will say "WTF" and just start beliveing. C'MON YE WELL
-
From a numbers or percentage perspective just wondered how many doubters there are.and how many have faith in the team to see it through to the end of the season with only 6 games left. My vote is a resounding YES!
-
We still have to wait and see what our lead will be going into the split. Somewhere between 2 and 8 points Hopefully we can gain a point or more over United and St Johnstone next weekend and go into the split with more than a 5 point lead but regardless I think 60 points will be enough to secure third. I think its unlikely that any of the 4 non OF teams will take more than 7 points.
-
Dundee Utd play aberdeen at Pittodrie. Aberdeen have already beat them twice this season.
-
I fancy that Dundee utd and St Johnstone might not get 3 points.
-
Seems like the aim is to get even number of games home and away but it never quite works for all the teams. May not be a popular view but I think that they should just take the top 6 teams and make the schedule such that the end result is you played the top 6 teams equal number of times home and away so that would make our post split look like this. Celtic H Dundee Utd H Rangers A St Johnstone A Hearts A

when we have taken points off of the OF, how much better have we done?? probably not much, if at all, because we would then drop points against the lower teams like accies or some other struggling team. i think we have ironed out the highs and lows of a season so that the "avergage" performance is much more consistant or predictable. We don't get anythign from the OF but also, we don't give much away to the lower teams. Not much point in getting points from the OF if you give them up to lower opposition. e.g. Look at Kilmarnock! how many points do they have from the OF and how many points are they behind us?? Focus on here seems to be on the negative aspects of that, in as much as we have zero points from the OF. But with respect to the lower teams we are doing much better. Hence, our total points is way better than anyone would have predicted at the start of the season. Credit where credit's due. The lads are 5 points clear in third place with only 1 game to go before the split. Could it have been better?? Yes! Could it have been worse? Oh F..ck YES!!! So enjoy it and look forward to the last 5 games and look out those passports.
-
Not so sure about that. I actually write them off as zero points! but as pointed out earlier it doesn't matter if it points from OF or points from any other team what counts is the total points at the end of the season
-
We can also remember that St Johnstone have to play OF 3 of their final 7 matches. Dundee utd have 2 of their final 7 matches against the OF. Having already beaten Rangers twice what's the chances of them beating rangers 3 times in the one season? Then of course we all have to play each other. We are 5 and 8 ahead of our rivals. I think we will go into thesplit with at least a 5 point cushion. Thats a pretty decent margin considering there will only be 15 points up for grabs
