  1. Sounds liek the best idea to me. Quick haklf hearted applause and it's done and over. No incidents, no moaning, no effort, no reprisals, .................now get on with the game and get tore into them!
  2. i'll take 0 - 0 against celtic in the first game, hoping for a draw in the Saints V utd game and Rangers to beat hearts or tie.
  3. I don't see any of the teams outsdide the OF getting any more than 9 points so if we can make it to 60 I think we are good. Basically got to match or better our competitors for the 5 rounds but with a wee bit of room to spare.
  4. We got married on a Friday. Spent the night at Poppinjay then off to firpark ( both of us ) on the sat afternnon then sunny Majorcy on the Sunday. That was Sept 18/19 1981. Can't recall who we played though.
  5. Pleasing and somewhat surpising to see the positive responses. Maybe we wil see the doubters tomorrow or maybe the doubters will say "WTF" and just start beliveing. C'MON YE WELL
  6. From a numbers or percentage perspective just wondered how many doubters there are.and how many have faith in the team to see it through to the end of the season with only 6 games left. My vote is a resounding YES!
  7. We still have to wait and see what our lead will be going into the split. Somewhere between 2 and 8 points Hopefully we can gain a point or more over United and St Johnstone next weekend and go into the split with more than a 5 point lead but regardless I think 60 points will be enough to secure third. I think its unlikely that any of the 4 non OF teams will take more than 7 points.
  8. Dundee Utd play aberdeen at Pittodrie. Aberdeen have already beat them twice this season.
  9. I fancy that Dundee utd and St Johnstone might not get 3 points.
  10. Seems like the aim is to get even number of games home and away but it never quite works for all the teams. May not be a popular view but I think that they should just take the top 6 teams and make the schedule such that the end result is you played the top 6 teams equal number of times home and away so that would make our post split look like this. Celtic H Dundee Utd H Rangers A St Johnstone A Hearts A
  11. when we have taken points off of the OF, how much better have we done?? probably not much, if at all, because we would then drop points against the lower teams like accies or some other struggling team. i think we have ironed out the highs and lows of a season so that the "avergage" performance is much more consistant or predictable. We don't get anythign from the OF but also, we don't give much away to the lower teams. Not much point in getting points from the OF if you give them up to lower opposition. e.g. Look at Kilmarnock! how many points do they have from the OF and how many points are they behind us?? Focus on here seems to be on the negative aspects of that, in as much as we have zero points from the OF. But with respect to the lower teams we are doing much better. Hence, our total points is way better than anyone would have predicted at the start of the season. Credit where credit's due. The lads are 5 points clear in third place with only 1 game to go before the split. Could it have been better?? Yes! Could it have been worse? Oh F..ck YES!!! So enjoy it and look forward to the last 5 games and look out those passports.
  12. Not so sure about that. I actually write them off as zero points! but as pointed out earlier it doesn't matter if it points from OF or points from any other team what counts is the total points at the end of the season
  13. We can also remember that St Johnstone have to play OF 3 of their final 7 matches. Dundee utd have 2 of their final 7 matches against the OF. Having already beaten Rangers twice what's the chances of them beating rangers 3 times in the one season? Then of course we all have to play each other. We are 5 and 8 ahead of our rivals. I think we will go into thesplit with at least a 5 point cushion. Thats a pretty decent margin considering there will only be 15 points up for grabs
  14. As a backhanded compliment to Killie I hope they don't make top 6. Rather face Hearts than Killie!!
  15. You got your money on that ?????? perhaps this is a better option for the 50 pound spotlight thingy ??
  16. McLiesh never played for us though ?
  17. Lets hope they end up having to shift that movie from the fiction section to real life drama!
  18. definately over reactions. we know that we won't perform well every week and then we do have an off week all of a sudden its the end of the world. We will win some and loose some. I fully epxect us to loose next week against rangers but still think that we will finish in third place.
  19. not sure what all this stuff is about Tom Hately. Wasn't it ealrier this season he was touted......on here........ as the most consistent full back in the SPL??? Now apparently he has no clue. Just his turn to have a dip in form i think.
  20. Exactly David. Wordsmith the contracts so that the players have the flexibility to move on if a decent offer comes in..........at the right time.
  21. Glad to see that Motherwell are working on retaining players. Don't want to see any of them going for free and be good to have the same ( or similar ) squad as I think, this season, we have been reaping the beneifits of the continuity of our squad. Playing together longer can only make us a better team for next season.
  22. Indded Muzz! let's hope they hold their nerve. The fans need to get right behind them and let them know that we are in full support of getting the OF sorted out. and it's not so much a case of getting at them as it isog making the SPL a better league.......just so happens that to make it a better league tone of the first major items is to sort out the OF!! There really is no reason why the rebel 10 should loose their nerve. Hopefully they have finally learned that there is no need for them to pander to the OF because when it comes down to it who gives a flyin Fk if they are in the league or not!!!! the consequences of them not being a part of it are minimal at most. Lets organize this league by democratic means not by dictatorship. Ou est le Guillotine ?
  23. let's hope that the revolution can sort out this post split fiasco as well. There should be a set method for deciding the post split fixtures so that everyone knows at the start of the season how it is going to work. Seems that it's just open to abuse again allowing the authorities to pander to the OF with no set procedure in place for setting the fixtures in a completely unbiased manner.
  24. The 10 rebel teams have much less to loose than the OF if the SKY TV deal goes away. We also have a lot less to loose if Celtic go away. The selfish B's would be off in a heartbeat anyway if england would take them so I for one don't care if they are part of the league or not. The media just perpetuate the myth that Scottish football needs the old firm. That is just not true. Scottiish football might possibly become more enjoyable, entertaining, interesting and unpredictable with the absence of an old firm duo. Seems fair that the voting system should revert to something like 75% rather than 11 to 1 More even distribution of revenue should help enable competition leading to more interesting and perhaps more closely contested championships. The object is to improve the SPL "product" as a whole. I'm afraid the OF only want to promote the well being of themselves. All the teams participate in the SPL so the money received by the SPL should be shared evenly. The OF have larger stadiums and will obviously make more money that way than the rest of us but apparently that's just nto enough for them they want a bigger share of everything. Viva the revolution!!!
