3rd place by no means wrapped up..............BUT........... we do have a good oportunity to wrap it up by the split. Not saying we will but definately we have earned the chance to do that we play the bottom 2 teams away we play 2 teams probably not making the top 6 we play rangers at home. I thought a while back that 60 points would win 3rd. If we can win the 4 games against Dunfermline, Hibs, Killie and Aberdeen ( not an easy task but certainly not fantasy stuff ) we will be on 60 points at the split. I do not believe that any of the teams under us will manage to get to 60 points by the end of the season. That would set us up to have a go at second place with all guns blazing if Rangers are still within our grasp and they have a tough run in to the split.

Page should not be playing in the cup game. we should have full squad to select from, right? unless you have a violent conduct red card suspensions stay in the same competition. Not sure how we are situated for yellow base don the 2 previous rounds. 2 yellows and you miss next round.

Haven't written St Johnstone off but think that Dundee Utd will be main contender, just my opinion. I think top 6 will be Celtic Rangers Motherwell Dundee utd St Johnstone Inverness

I don't have a problem with the Higdon thing. First of all we have no clue what he said and secondly have no issue with one professional to another saying " good strike" "well taken" or whatever. I am pretty sure Higdon wanted to beat Celtic as much as any of us in fact probably more since I am assuming they get some sort of win bonus? ( or maybe that went out the window with administration, not sure )

Well, getting us back on thread............. Seems like Dundee Utd may be emerging as our closest competitor? Looking at recent results, up coming fixtures and how they almost caught Hearts last season they might be the ones to push us the hardest. Of course, being in the position we are, it is only ours to loose so we need to keep churning out results through suspensions to key players. I am still confident of finishing third. Would be good to get to the split 9 or 10 ahead of closest rival.

why will Lasley get suspended again? he got 1 auto game ban ( hibs ) for the 2 yellows in one game. that took him over 6 yellows so he got suspended for dunfermline game. So now he has to reach 6 yellows again to be suspended.

No suffering through updates on the shout box this saturday. Sure there will be a few live streams. if not I may have to infiltrate the austin celtic supprters club and goto Fado's ( pub ) to watchit.

So as someone stated clancy and Hutch out the same game. V aberdeen in the league For reaching 6 yellows the suspension begins 14 days after the date of the incident, So that would be March 5th. and aberdeen game as called out by Milo. V Celtic full squad to pick from V Dunfermline Lasley out V Aberdeen Hutchie and Clancy out V Aberdeen ( CUP ) full squad to pick from So who plays alongside Craigan V Aberdeen????
-
Sporting life only shows Clancy and ojaama as yellow cards.
-
I'm with you lets go slug it out we are much better when we attack. No shame if we don't win but at least have a go
-
great news!!! lets end Celtic's winning run!!!
-
The pleasing thing is that we have a host of options!! not bad for a small squad.

Keith Lasley - Is He Having His Best Season So Far?
texanwellfan replied to David's topic in Club Chat
i think i read in another post that his twitter says missing Hibs and Dunfermline. Thats his auto 1 game ban for being sent off ( hibs ) and 1 game ban ( effective 14 days after incident ) for reaching 6 yellows.( dunfermline ) Google the document below. The guy from STV sent it to me this morning. Scottish FA Judicial Panel Protocol -

reading Tony's post has me confused.........well in as much as i don't know the official disciplinary procedures.........YET......... Lasley is already banned for hibs and dunfermline. A yellow against celtic just goes towards his next 6, right? -

igonre my previous posts ( which you probably did anyway ) i was unaware that they had changed the disciplinary procedures and of course no one ever tidies up on the internet so I was using procedures from last year. I don't have the daily record or BBC over here to keep up to date with accurate information. -

Suspensions are applied based on penalty points not necessarily 6 yellows. Sent off is always an auto 1 game ban. Suspensions are applied at 18 point intervals. points accumulated per section 7 below. So Clancy has 5 yellows but he also has 1 red. so I am thinking that his points tally is 27 [12 + (5 x 3 )] next suspension point is 36 points, So I think he needs another 3 yellows before he would be suspended. I think if Jenno gets another yellow he misses 3 games. ( they take last season into account also for number of times you reached an 18 point mark. Jenno reached it twice) If Hutch gets another yellow should just miss 1 game. Section 7 Schedule of Penalty Points Sending Off Offences A1 Serious Foul Play 12 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension) A2 Violent Conduct 12 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension) A3 Spitting at an Opponent or Any Other Person 12 penalty points (plus an automatic two match suspension) A4 Denying the Opposing Team or an Opponent a goal or an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity as Defined by Law 12 5 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension) A5 Offensive, Insulting or Abusive Language and/or Gestures 8 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension) A6 Receiving a Second Caution in the Same Match The penalty points recorded will be the combined total for the two cautionable offences (plus an automatic one match suspension) Cautionable Offences Penalty Points B1 Unsporting Behaviour a) Obstruction involving bodily contact 2 b) Deliberately tripping 3 c) Recklessly dangerous play 3 d) Deliberately playing an opponent's leg or legs 3 e) Adopting a threatening and/or aggressive attitude 3 f) Holding or pushing an opponent 3 g) Time Wasting 3 h) Shirt pulling, etc. 3 i) Handling the ball deliberately 2 j) Feigning injury 3 k) Simulation 3 l) Action(s) deemed by the referee to be inflammatory 3 m) All other offences deemed by the referee to be unsporting behaviour 1 B2 Dissent by Word or Action 3 B3 Persistently infringing the Laws of the Game 3 B4 Delays the restart of play or fails to respect the required distance at the restart of play 1 B5 Entering or re-entering or leaving the field of play without the referee's permission 1 -
Keith Lasley - Is He Having His Best Season So Far?

after doing some digging http://soccernet.espn.go.com/team/squad/_/id/266/season/2010/league/all/motherwell?cc=5901 looks like he had 7 yellows in the SPL last year so if i am reading the SPL disciplinary procedures correctly I think that incurs a 2 match ban ( over and above the automatic 1 game ) and so misses Dunfermline and Aberdeen games in the SPL. -

I say 1 game for reaching 18 points but apparently they also take last season into account so if he got suspended last season for 18 points then it will be a 2 game ban and so would miss aberdeen game as well. The suspension doe not apply to the scottish cup. 3.7.2 On accumulating 18 penalty points in a League competition, a player will automatically incur a suspension for a number of matches, starting with one match for his first 18 penalty points, and increasing by one match for each successive 18 points accumulation, within a two season period. In effect, a player's record over the current season and the immediately preceding season will be taken into account. -

I think he gets auto 1 game ban and so misses the Hibs game. Thats because of 2 yellows in 1 game. His 2 yellows takes himover 18 points So i Believe he misses a game for that also. However, that suspension takes effect 14 days after the date of the incident which would be March 3rd. So he should miss the Dunfermline game. So we should have Keith for Celtic game and both Aberdeen games. Then he will not be suspended again till he reaches 18 points again. Google "sfa disciplinary procedures" -
Now that's funny!!

Think I am with the majority on this one...............carswell for Lasley. Nice simple change. If it's not working then he has the other options open to him base don how the game is going. The craigan option with hately going to Mid or daley/Humph in mid with law moving inside. I would go for the simple option first and then change it if needed.
