I don’t even know who he is.

Sounds like WS rules may need updated to ensure the members have their say on major decisions so that the board have to vote per the majority wishes of the WS members, and not on what they think is best?

Don’t know but a good performance can only help his value

Hope the big man gets on and bags a few goals. cha Ching!

Definitely money wise you are correct but my understanding is that he would bring further financial benefits into the club using his skills and contacts. However, that is a very nebulous statement with no plan proposed or metrics to measure success. Reminds of Trump. I’ll do this or do that but there’s never any plan to actually get it done which of course results in nothing getting done. So I think we are basically taking a gamble (with WS betting the shirt off their back) on EB being able to perform with very little consequences for him if we Lose the bet.

Feely. Sounds like one of the dwarfs who got cut for being naughty. Along with Humpy and Gropey.

Agree with bold print, good point to clarify.

Well let’s hope the WS lay it out nice and simple for the members to review and vote on. Already been summarized in a good manner on several posts and when presented like that it’s really hard to come to the conclusion that it’s a good deal. Especially when you consider there doesn’t appear to be a concise clear plan, with measurable metrics, put forth by EB as to how the club is going to benefit or how he is going to benefit. Pretty much it’s, do this (which seems not good) and I’m in charge.

Since WS have 71% of shares it doesn’t really matter that the other shareholders will be voting, right?
-
Fair point but either way we are effectively conversing with him albeit perhaps indirectly sorry: posted before seeing BB’s post

So does this offer have to be formally refused before he proposes a revised offer? While I see many references to the WS board members voting, the actual yes/no vote will be from the majority vote of the well society members, right? The WS board will then relay that result to MFC EB, right? It seems that there would be some non negotiable requirements for any revised proposal from EB but who will establish those requirements? Having hundreds of people, voting as one entity and owning 71% of the shares adds some extra complexity to the situation. Fairly straightforward to take a yes/no vote and feed that result back but a bit more complicated to generate a document with requirements. Who’s draws it up and who approves it? WS board members? Another society vote ? In the interests of expediency for both sides I think EB needs to know what non negotiables any acceptable offer must contain (or not contain) the if there are any deal breakers there we are finished and can move on.

I’ve never been on P&B but I may have to go take a look

Probably many different paths revamp the current proposal to an acceptable investment option for both parties above plus revamped WS option Kill the Barmack option and proceed with revamped WS option continue as is while still searching for additional investmen thats just the financial side, not sure where we are or where we are going with regards to WS and MFC boards. my head hurts reading all this stuff and I haven’t even been close to looking on P&B 🥴

I think we need a supporter to win the powerball or megamillions. I’m trying!

Agree, the current proposal doesn’t sound like what we are looking for.

For me it means having a bit more financial security. Perhaps able to hold onto better players for longer. Not having to sell players to survive. As you mention the chances of us getting a real investor to bring in life changing amounts of cash is pretty slim, if at all. However, if we can at least some forward steps with continuous improvement then we can achieve progress slowly. However, as you also mentioned whatever the finances are, we also need the management and players to produce the goods on the park. So while extra cash doesn’t guarantee that, it does give you a better chance of success in being able to attract and hold onto better players, coaches and staff.

I don’t pretend to fully understand the pros and cons of the offer and any alternative option from the WS but it seems fundamentally wrong that part of this appears to have the WS dumping all their money into the club and ending up with a smaller share of the club. My understanding (could be wrong) is that this money is for “emergency” situations? I would have thought that any investor would be expected to invest their money by buying shares, be that existing or new shares issued? Or is he saying I am putting in 2 million for this percentage of shares which means share price is equivalent to X pounds per share. So you (WS) need to put in money so your shares are worth same as mine? And in doing that the WS now end up with a Lower percentage of shares but with more money invested in the club? My perception might be way off but I do believe he should be presenting an investment proposition based on his money and not co opting WS into investing at the same time. I’m also not clear on any specific goals for the club and for his personal gain and how they plan to achieve those goals. I think it’s ok for him to expect a financial gain for any investment but his personal gain expectations should be made clear and should not be detrimental to the benefit of the club. Survival and growth of the club has to be priority number 1 and there should be clear understanding on that with contractual stipulations in place and legally binding to ensure MFC do not get shafted

I’m sure I’ve read several times that the WS were working on an alternate proposal or at least a proposal to increase revenue. So seems strange that 3 of the WS board have now resigned.
-
I don’t consider 2 million over 6 years as serious money but maybe that’s just me.
-
That would be good but I think the offer taken by itself is very underwhelming and doesn’t make me want to jump in and accept regardless of WS having a plan or not. It was mentioned early on that there were several interested parties so I hope this one is not the pick of the bunch.

I hope Theo gets a game tonight and performs well. Either boosts his confidence for playing with us or gives a wee bit more bargaining power.
