  1. If we do get pumped, it’s all your fault for buying a ticket.
  2. See, that’s it right there! It’s the hope that kills you when, once again, we fail. Hence today I am resigned to the fact that we will get nothing. However, by Saturday evening I’ll be 100% convinced that we’ll be taking all 3 points.
  3. Per normal if we can take any points for this game it will be a bonus. Hoping we can win or draw and come out with no new injury worries. COYW!!!!!
  4. I thought his scoring effort in the first half was ok. His angle was very tight and well covered by the goalie so he went for a more difficult option of putting it in at the far post and narrowly missed. It wasn’t an easy chance. The one in the second half he just snatched at it as it came to him quickly.
  5. SK view of the issue leading to their goal is not about free man at the back post so perhaps not really O’Donnell’s fault?
  6. We had 20 shots, 7 which were on target and 1 that hit the bar plus we had 8 corners none of which we looked particularly dangerous at so I think those stats back up some of your comments. Sooner we get our “preferred” choice strikers in the better. Although I’m sure there will other games where if we have similar stats or worse we will score goals. It’s been a while since we had a midfield move the ball around like we did today. I also noted Mugabi dribbling on a few occasions but I don’t think I like that. 😳
  7. Especially being light up front at the moment looks like we need to work on corners and free kicks. We really didn’t cause any concern for St Midden today from set pieces.
  8. We can criticize and bemoan our lack of scoring power but we are a much better football team than we have been for some time. I am looking forward to a good season and while we will most certainly miss KVV I think when we have some of our injured players return perhaps even before then we are going to win more games than we loose
  9. I would have brought Shaw on earlier but having said that he should have buried his chance. Unlucky for new kid hitting the crossbar
  10. Had our chances. Played some good football but just not our day.
  11. I think Shaw might provide more of a goal threat than Bair. Bair had decent effort as the angle was pretty tight but just couldn’t steer it into the far corner
  12. Think we just shaded the first half. Hopefully we can score a few second half
  13. Bair certainly puts in a lot of work but because of that I think he should have been subd earlier as he seemed, not surprisingly, to tire. So I think he starts and wears them down a bit for Shaw to come on with fresh legs and take advantage. However, I think it will depend on how the game is going what changes get made. Probably different plan depending on if we are winning or loosing and how nice is it to have a manager with different plans ready to deploy!!
  14. stepping stone to launch a new career as an actor
  15. If we had Brendon Rogers as manager he would be spending these two weeks running Dunne’s reputation into the ground making sure the officials knew what an animal he was and to be watching out for his antics
  16. Very composed finish. I wonder if he thought he was offside and relaxed for the finish? Initially focused on the vicinity around him I though he might have been off but then when you see the replay with defender on the other side playing him on by a mile, you wonder how the hell the linesman called it offside. That assistant needs a good rollicking.
  17. Yes, my meter was indicating that way but wasn’t 100% sure. I was at that game. It was a good old fashioned cup tie. It used to be cup ties had much more intensity and atmosphere about them but not so much anymore. Cup ties just seem like regular old league games.
  18. I’d be more than happy to see Kelly play out his career at Fir Park. The distribution thing is strange. When he first came to us I thought his distribution was excellent but it seems to have fallen away a bit. I would have thought that with a little bit of work and focus his distribution could be back as good as it ever was.
