He is starting to look better. I was a bit disappointed in his early appearances but I think it’s just taken him a while to settle in. Probably made it more difficult for him coming into the team playing the Way they are.
I think fixing the defense is key to halting the downward spiral. If we can stop gifting goals, it will help us to start picking up more points. That leads to more confidence and better performances. That in turn leads to a better atmosphere from the crowd which helps the players even more. Looking at where we are now main aim is not to finish in 11 or 12 position. It’s mainly the defensive errors that have got us where we are. Hammy, and the players, have to find a way to stop gifting goals to the opposing teams.
There has been a lot of talk regarding drastic changes but when you look at the fine margins even a relatively small change could lead to a much better looking league table position. Granted the more improvements (not just changes) we make the better but if we can just get 1 player to be a scoring partner beside KVV that would help a lot or a rock solid central defender to cajole and organize on the pitch or a midfielder with some presence to be a ball winner or creative spark. Even just one good signing could make a big difference to our season. However, easier said than done.
Or is the problem that they keep coaching and working but the players just can’t carry out the instructions? If we can see the issues you have to think the coaching staff also see them. That would lead me back to my point above.
Lol popular opinion seems to be calling for change. I’m just offering an option. Let’s face it probably can’t dOnmuch worse than the current status quo week after week.
Surely that must be the end of Shields in the starting line up? It also needs to be the end of having 3 of the same player in the line up. Slattery, Spittal and Cornelius. While Goss is not the answer he probably has to start as he seems to be the only with even a glimmer of creativity. We need to see a fairly drastic change for the next game and Hammel needs to get them fired up so they at least look like they care about not getting relegated. Assuming no new faces before the next game I’d go with the players below although not 100% sure What formation but at least make us a bit less pedestrian in midfield, perhaps a bit stronger in Defence
Kelly
johnson McGinn Lamie O’Donnel
Tierney Goss Penny
Spittal KVV McKinstrey
Obviously you’re slacking off on the work front, going by the number of posts you’re putting on here. It’s my birthday so taking it easy. I’ll need my energy to handle all the food and drink she’ll be buying me later.
Is Moult thing done and over then? Didn’t see any official announcement about his situation. Although obviously from his lack of appearances it would seem pretty much over and done with. Maybe I just missed official statement?
Without having any info to back up my statement, since I can’t be arsed researching, it seems that a lot of players, of recent years, who do well here and move on, struggle to maintain/improve on their career with Campbell being a notable exception.
