McCall being away with Scotland can only benefit Motherwell. He gets the experience of working with different coaching techniques, seeing how better players prepare and approach matches, see how different tactical formations work, expands his contacts and generally raises the profile of the club by being involved. Of course if Scotland are successful there is a risk attached that this might hasten his exit. Although that might not displease some people......

Not defending Humphries poor performance yesterday but noticed he is back wearing the blue tape on the back of his hammy's. Anyone no what the issue is with that? Seem to recall last season he did the same and his form was shocking. Totally accept he blows hot and cold a lot of the time but the amount of times he had half the pitch to run into behind the full back yesterday and chose not to was shocking.

Was going to give it to Lasley but too annoyed with him for the red card which was so unecessary. Went for Nicky Law who just kept the ball moving all game and was involved in most of our positive work. Special mention for Stuart Carswell who looked very solid in midfield. Unlucky to be hooked but right decision as we had to chase the game at that point.

Lasleys tackle was a straight red all day long. He was getting kicked all over the park himself but thats no excuse. Not only did he end any hope of getting anything out of the game he puts himself out of a couple of crucial games. Kerrs didnt look quite so bad but stilk looked deserved. Both players let themselves, their teamates and the fans down today. As for the fans clapping them off WTF? Desperately disappointing as we played by far the better football throughout.

Pretty much dominated possession and played the better football all day. However our finishing and composure in the last third left a lot to be desired. Killie defended very well but if you dont take your chances thats what can happen. Terrible indiscipline from Kerr but even moreso from Lasley who should know better. He was in line for my MoM up until then. Should never have lost that game. Big shout to the Well Bois again. They are enhancing my enjoyment of the fitba no end. Keep the new songs coming boys. First class.

Killie started the better of the two. Got in front by virtue of a lucky deflection off Hammel. Since the we have been the better team and missed a raft of chances. Hope we are not going to regret it.

Girl at the ticket office said that its because they are trying to phase in their new ticket system. Not sure what benefit that provides given you still have to hand your ticket to a person on the gate? Maybe Squirelhumper is right....

Didnt really do a great deal to impress but then Estonia as a whole didnt look that great. Pass marks to Henrik but no more.

Its the usual Doomcaster misinformation trying to railroad through what he perceives to be in the best interests of Scottish football (or at the very least his CV). If the fans dont want this we have the power to make sure we dont get it, just as we did with Rangers situation. Nothing motivates the board of a football club more than the sound of feet heading for the exits.

Why cant the SPL sit down with Sky/ESPN at the start of the season and sort the TV schedule then? Surely not beyond the combined intellects of all involved......but then again!

Only watched the game online but didnt think we played as badly as some of the above posts. Looked to me like the tactic was to soak up their pressure and hit them on the break. Felt we looked pretty comfortable for the most and at 3-0 up I couldnt see any way back for them. Two lapses of concentration and we nearly undo all that good work. Good to see us hang on for the 3 points. Thought big Hutch looked a lot more comfortable alongside Ramsden. Here's hoping the injury to Randy isnt that serious. With everyone fit I think we still have a real tilt at 2nd.

Much has changed in the transfer market since then but its still hard not to feel that we are being shortchanged for Murph. Hopefully Higginbottom will prove an able replacement.

Excellent post Steelboy. Ont the subs issue I would usually agree with you but BBC had McCall stripping Higdon just before we got the pen so looks like he was intending to change it at 0-0 then events overtook things?

There is no doubt that Jamie is the most talented player that our club has produced since Faddy. He has scored some fantastic goals and been part of some great moments but if we are honest, consistency has always been a real issue. The last 8 weeks, however, have been some of the most consistent and impressive that we have seen from Jamie in his time at Fir Park and I hope that it is a sign that Jamie is ready to move on and develop into the player we all hoped he would become when we first saw him 5 years ago. All the best Jamie, you have been a credit to our club. I look forward to seeing you at Hampden wearing the dark blue with distinction.

Personally dont think we saw enough of Page to say whether he wouldve made it with us or not. However, given our defensive deficiencies this season it would appear that the manager hasnt seen enough in training to convince him that he was the answer which must say something. Wish him all the best in finding a new club though.

We really made an impression on them down at their place when they paraded the League Cup and with the Kelly banner. Nice of them to return the favour. Its what football should be like more often.
