The King is dead. Long live the King!

Ive already seen references to "Wimmer loves Koc". I wonder if the Bois will love him as well! 😆😆😆
-
Absolutely no idea if this will be a success or not. However....... From looking at his managerial record he has worked his way up the youth ranks at some pretty decent clubs in Germany and got to assistant at Stuttgart before getting his first managers gig at Austria Vienna. You dont get those jobs without having something about you and he has a distinct career progression to fall back on. Added to the fact its out the box thinking, all the photos/comms today project absolute positivity and no bugger mentioned him through the entire process? Im quite excited to see what he can do! Lets hope Wimmer's a winner!

Well the Budget Bergkamp did pretty well, so I'll take that! 😉

We have a bloated squad that needs trimmed we cant keep them all. Armstrong has shown up well and looks out of the picture at Carlisle. There may be an opportunity there. Plange has been sent out for development. Presumably his parent club still see a future for him. Not writing him off at all, but once our injuries clear up we need to make decisions based on whats good for our squad / players. It will be harsh on some. Thats football.

Room for all opinions on here including yours!

Of todays team..... Balcombe - move on Sparrow - keep SOD - keep as utility/back up Gordon - keep Balmer - move on Thompson - move on Miller - sell for ££££ Halliday - move on Slattery - keep Watt - send back to Dundee Utd Armstrong - keep if an option Nicholson - keep Maswanhise - keep/sell Plange - return to Crystal Palace Wilson - put on a diet / fitness plan

Better than having a house without a roof being reclaimed by the bank....
-
We could be sitting in exactly the same scenario but no longer own the club and be able to protect it from dubious individuals...
-
I thought Slattery and Miller had some good combinations without particularly creating any clear cut chances. Sparrow put in a great shift and should never have been subbed. But I went for Armstrong just for the amount of lost causes he chased, ground he covered and his general appetite for engaging his opponent.

Have we prepared a space for him to park his Lambourghini? 😍😍😍

Mitchell van der Gaag would be an exciting appointment at least. Whether he has the ability to be a success remains to be seen, but Im all aboard giving it a try!
-
Its defo a 3. SOD warming up with Balmer and Gordon.

Is Irish considered "foreign"? Asking for a friend! 😆
-
Options from the bench as well with Maswanhise and Nicholson both available.....
-
I hope its 4-4-2 but is suspect its Sparrow at RWB and SOD at RCB. Good to see Miller and Slattery both start though. We might actually be able to keep and pass the ball today!

Im gonna predict its Ryan Lowe.....

I see Ketsbaia is in the papers again this morning touting himself. Again no mention even from him that he was even interviewed. Smacks very much of a guy desperate to get his name in the papers so he can get a job he feels is worthy of his talent! https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/14345943/temuri-ketsbaia-motherwell-job-update-newcastle-cult-hero/#Echobox=1739616542

Based on what exactly? He hasnt indicated he wants it. There have been no rumours to indicate he is being considered. He isnt even on the Bookies list. Is this one of those situations where you predict defeat in order to lower expectations only to be delighted when we actually do something good?
-
I thought he looked and sounded very tired......
-
The article is a bit vague. It says we have a 2 manager shortlist and the headline alludes that one of them is Ketsbaia, but the article doesnt actually say that. It says Motherwell were impressed with his CV. Thats a whole lot different than he has been interviewed and impressed there.

I thought you had taken up cutting hair! 😆😆😆

Re Holidays. Given Im such a happy clapper, I will obviously be going somewhere very sunny with all inclusive drinks, great restaurants and absolutely banging live entertainment in the evenings. Should the holiday fall short of my expectations, I will of course try to see the positive in the situation and cite mitigation for all the holiday companies shortcomings! 😉😉😉

Ok, I know I shouldnt, but Im going to bite. Frail is doing the job because he wants to continue being paid. Unless he had another job to go to he would be off his head to do otherwise. Secondly, even if he doesnt want the job, the new guy might not want to bring in their own backroom team, so he might get to stay on. Thirdly, he will feel a loyalty to the players. Someone has to take the team until there is a new appointment and he is the one best placed to do it. Otherwise you are down to Clarkson, Foster and Obika taking the team. Hammell and Kettlewell were both appointed by the previous board who had clearly ran out of ideas / enthusiasm for the role as can be seen by many of the other decisions taken around that time. Given that most of us roundly supported the WS flexing their muscles to chase Barmack and become more hands on in their approach, and roundly welcomed the new appointments to the board, I think its a bit churlish to suggest that they will fall at the first hurdle and take the easy option. Previously, we had sacked managers and had to pay the severance that goes with that. We didnt have a lot of money to throw at a new manager as we were still paying off the previous two. Thats no longer the case and SK walked so presumably didnt get a pay off. It stands to reason we are in much better shape this time around (still sitting top 6) to take our time and get the right appointment. Thats not to say Frail shouldnt be considered if he wants to be. But there is absolutely no reason to think he is a shoe in because of past appointments.
