Not sure what your point is here. Surely nobody has been offered a new contract if SK doesnt rate them and wants to move them on? We are talking here about players that have been offered new contracts. Id agree with you that the CEO may not sifn off on a player if SK wanted them but their terms were unreasonable.....

I find the whole Kelly debate quite boring. Theres too many posters with entrenched positions digging in for the long haul rather than engaging with any meaningful debate. Kelly was a good keeper once. He hasnt been for some time. He doesnt come of his line which leaves us vulnerable at set pieces and his distribution is awful. He is far from the worst keeper we've ever had, but also far from the best. Looks like he is signing for Rangers and we can get his rather substantial wages off the wage bill. Might free up some money for better defenders to better protect the next incumbent.

Didnt hear Ketts reference it after Hibs and no mention on the matchday squad, although SOD and Casey dropping to the bench were both highlighted.
-
Agreed. Be nice just to get an announcement and move on. Feels like the whole season has been a holding pattern......
-
Hopefully Halliday will be a gentleman and agree he is finished at this level. I noticed he didnt make the matchday squad yesterday although there was no mention of him being injured.

I suppose that depends on the detail of the deal on offer and whether there was any room for negotiation on the part of the investor. If its a black and white take it or leave it offer that clearly isnt in the interests of the club, not sure what the point of putting it to a vote would be? Just say we think its a shit offer because of x,y and z and move on. Democracy is definitely important but Id say transparency is the key.

No smiley emoji? That hurts! 😍

Not gonna lie. I had to look "irascible" up. Surely irascible happy clapper is an oxymoron?

As Ye Bezzer says, its entirely possible to be not satisfied with the season on a number of fronts whilst at the same time not being overly critical due to circumstances. Absolutely want us to do better than we have done this season. But there has been a lot going on and we have had to clear the decks a little in order to get back on an even keel after a couple of seasons of really bad decision making and wasteful spending. Next season we need to spend smarter address the areas of weakness in the team and hipe the manager has learned from this season and can implement that learning into improved performances. Tactics and in game management needs to improve. Seriously challenging for top 6 and a decent cup run in at least one of the cups would signify improvement for me.

Davie Cooper is the most talented player Ive seen in my lifetime at Fir Park, but he is a long way from being GOAT for the reasons Denny C has given above. My first Motherwell had Bobby Graham and Pettigrew, but they were very short lived. Tommy Coyne and Arnott were some double act and Faddy did some outrageous things in claret & amber. But the GOAT of my lifetime is obviously Joe Wark. One club man, record appearances until Hammy came along and a level of performance and consistency unrivalled by anyone. Of course that doesnt make him our GOAT. Just the best Ive seen. My old man used to rave about the Ancell Babes with Hunter, Quinn, St John, Reid and Weir. Bobby Ferrier, George Stevenston, Charlie Aitken and Andy Paton all have to be in the conversation. Up The 'Well! 🧡❤️🧡

Well aye. Its more a 5-4-1 come 3-4-2-1 or some variation. But apart from that its a great post. Other formations are available, but positivity wins!

My reading of the situation is that the old board wanted the financial support provided by the Well Society without necessarily having any outside interference in their running of the club. The Society was set up in a way that it had minority representation on the board and that representation was pretty close to existing board members, making it very difficult for other members of the Society to effect change. Since the new WS board elections in October, the dynamic has changed somewhat and it feels like there is a drive to have more input into the decision making process. Given that 2 of the old board are moving on and we now have a new CEO in place who was approved by the Society and an additional Society member on the board, it feels to me like the Society is in a better position to have influence in the direction the club will now take. What happens next is crucial. Hopefully a joint enterprise between an investor and a rejuvinated Well Society where the future if the club is secured without any long term risk to any of our assets.

End of season madness. Based on absolutely nothing other than former players coming back to haunt old clubs. Would be the icing on the redemption arc cake!

3-1 Motherwell. The Bair will be ravenous. Just feed him.
-
Jake was decent going forward and could whip in a cross. But he couldnt defend for toffee. Would probably have fitted into a Ketts team ok, but he didnt have that luxury afforded to him.
-
Well we are led to believe that. But we dont actually know what the detail of the years extension in the contract says and who it favours. We can but hope.
-
Thats my argument. You could question how competetive we were last night. Certainly first half. Not advocating a team full of youngsters but 1 or 2 eagre to please could be justified, I think.
-
Thats a shame. Would have liked to have had him on board. Definitely the type of defender we should be going for imho.
-
Slim pickings as nobody had a great game. Miller and Nicholson were decent but I went for Paton as he improved us second half when he came on and tried to speed the game up a bit.
-
I think he and Craig Napier are probably the worst 2 Ive seen this season. Edit: Although Collum was absolutely honking in the second half of the last Aberdeen home game.
-
Is that not an argument for only fielding contracted players next Sunday. That could include a few youngsters eagre to impress? Personally Id love to see Luca Ross get a free hit to see what he can do.

Just getting round to posting as it was a late one getting back to Ayrshire last night. Shoulda probably stayed at home. Game had that end of season feel to it from both teams. Not much in it for the first 30 mins. Hibs had more possession, we created the better chances. Kelly had nothing to do until Boyles 2 efforts. The game changes on the penalty decision and for the life of me I cant understand how the ref can give that. SOD is so close to the player playing the ball and his hand is in an entirely natural position. Its just wrong. Even with the new rules. After that they got their heads up and started causing us more problems. The second and third goals are the kind of thing we have been giving away all season and so disappointing we cant seem to find a way of changing that. We did play some decent football second half. Bringing Paton on for Halliday helped as the game was bypassing him again. He really needs to consider whether he has any top flight football in him next season. Id like to see the Bair goal again. It was a smart finish and I wasnt sure which player was flagged offside or whether they were even active. That might have made a difference with 25 to go, but it wasnt to be. The game petered out after that and we ultimately got what we deserved for not being at it in the first half. Big changes required in the close season. Hope the manager has his list of targets ready to go as we are gonna need fresh faces if we want to improve on this season.

Ketts is the striker whisperer for sure! Just look at KVV! Hopefully we are a million quid to the good and he can get a tune out of Ollie Shaw! 😆😆😆
