  1. For all our problems in attack right now it's our defence that's our biggest headache.we need to cut out the cheap goals and quick as that's been our undoing all season.i would say this game will likely end in a draw but it could easily get away from us if we defend like we have been.

  2. If we didn't have bad luck,we wouldn't have any luck,I would gladly see the back of this season the now.kettlewell said one of the main priorities in january was to strengthen the full back positions,I wonder if his hand will now be forced into finding another left back or move gent back there.

I am usually a positive guy but I am genuinely concerned that as it stands we have Bair and Obika up front and thats all.  Every other area looking ok but we need 2 strikers or I really fear the worse

Aye we definitely need atleast 2,whoever we bring in should be coming in with the intention of being in front of obika,no harm to the guy but he just can't be relied on to stay fit.im certain were trying to get strikers in but anything can happen and until there actually signed then I think we have every right to be concerned.i would like a centre half in as well, other than maybe mcginn all our centre backs have been poor this season, there's far to many individual errors being made, getting a new face in might be enough to steady the ship as well as the others upping there game a bit.

I'm going to agree with you that I think Burrows needs to take some responsibility for the state Motherwell are in just now.

I personally think as a club we've shot ourselves in the foot too many times by getting rid of managers that were doing an ok job. I don't think we should have sacked Gannon and I also think Alexander got hounded out (and that's a huge reason as to why I don't want to see Kettlewell go through the same thing).

Gannon was sacked for more than just results on the park,he was a total headcase behind the scenes,I don't think there was many folk that he hadn't fell out with at the end up,the club had no choice but to get rid of him.i know theres been a lot of talk about our standard of signings lately, how we could do with a jennings or humphries right now from that era.

We got £1.2 million for Scott a few years back which was great business.

That has to be right up there in terms of the best bit of business the club has ever done to get that money for scott.i know he got a bad injury when he was at hull but his career has pretty much stalled or he's similar to the likes of hastie and Irwin, where they kinda burst on the scene but couldn't take there game to another level where there not a youngster anymore.its no surprise he's going to st mirren to work with a manager thats got the best out of him so far,im glad we didnt end up with him though as he wouldn't have solved any of our issues.

  6. I think nicholson will be a decent signing for us,he had the ability to beat a man when he was at hearts so hopefully he still has that in his locker.it will be interesting to see if kettlewell is going to really freshen up our attack and opt for a couple of wide players in the squad, especially if there's any truth in the rumour that we're interested in scott.i still think we need another striker and a centre half,if we can do that plus miller back from injury, the second half of the season might not be so bad as it felt it could be.

Scott Burns mentioned we're close to signing right back Callan Elliot, capped recently by New Zealand.

Atleast it isn't callum elliot 😂,we were needing another option at right back, hopefully he's the type to offer an attacking threat going forward.

Item tonight saying Livvy may be getting shot of Nouble. Out of contract at end of season, out of favour with Martin Dale and could be available now for a nominal fee. Apparently two English teams and one Scottish Premier team interested. Could it be us ?? If it is would you be happy for it to happen??

According to a livi fan on p&b we are the Scottish team that's in for nouble,no idea if that's true or not, also the guy we were after from charlton is off to hearts by the looks of it.

  9. We made it into the next round and that's all that matters, giving how we have been going this season it was never going to be pretty and a convincing win.if we stick with montgomery and gent then hopefully thats the making of a balanced left side,we badly need a right full back that can offer something going forward, miller back fit is a big positive but unless we can get a centre half in our issues at the back will continue, other than probably mcginn none of them have been at the races this season.our lack of striking options is a real concern,we need to find a couple from somewhere and not settle for any old shit that's available, obika is a total write off and hopefully the talk of shaw bring moved on are true.

Why don't you go and do better then eh? Go and do Kettlewells job with the amount of money he has at his disposal.

Its quite clear that Motherwell don't have a lot of money to spend and from what I've seen on Facebook tonight most fans are happy with the signing. Of course you wouldn't be. No surprise there.

I didn't want halliday for the fact that he doesn't offer anything that our midfield is sadly lacking which is pretty much everything so why then go and use the limited funds we do have to bring him in,it's also in place that he will sign permanently in the summer and that's before we see how he gets on for the rest of the this season.hes here and he will get my backing but he doesn't solve any of our problems in my opinion.

No idea if he'd be any good or not, but at least he seems to have been playing regularly up until a few weeks ago and apparently wants to come here.

I don't know too much about him either other than he was highly rated when he first moved to england.I would rather we pursued this one than someone like halliday.

It's not necessarily our fault, but if we were 5th in the league playing free flowing football and he was developing he'd still more than likely be here.

As it is we have 1 win in however many games and he spends half the game chasing trademark Stephen O'Donnell floaters into the channel all alone with minimal help. It's no wonder Arsenal recalled him.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but our top flight status hangs on Theo Bair continuing his two match good form for the rest of the season. All the while we have a CEO or whatever he is focusing on a fucking YouTube video where some wee kid begs Taylor Swift for money.

We've also got a great young left back really coming onto a game, and our young right back departs. What do we do? Sign another right back to fill that slot? Nope sign an identical left back to the one we already have.

We are a fucking shambles. A fucking shambles.

Spot on and kettlewells comment at the start of the season about hanging is hat on bair might just be about to come true, scary times ahead I think.

I get the frustration re the potential Halliday signing but we need to be realistic. We're not signing any regular starter in the January window. We simply don't have the funds to facilitate moves for regular, match fit players. Personally I think Halliday would be a decent addition. Providing we're not breaking the bank of course.

I don't want us to sign halliday purely on the basis that he wont offer anything that our midfield is currently lacking,we need fresh legs to get about the park not a 31 year old that's barely kicked a ball this season and thats as slow as the likes of spittal.ive heard a few folk say that halliday will get stuck in and he's experienced but if thats what we're looking for we would be as well going with butcher in midfield and either saving the money or spending it elsewhere on the team.halliday will likely be on a few grand a week at hearts so he's either going to be taking a big pay cut or we are going to be paying over the odds for him.if he signs he will get my full backing but it just looks like it will be another player in the squad the likes of shaw and obika that don't actually offer anything to our current problems.

I believe that Monty can play anywhere on the left hand side and is a converted winger. Has a bit of pace but is injury prone.

    Halliday?????

I don't know a lot about montgomery but having him and gent competing for a place on the left seems a far better option that going with just gent and then shuffling o'donnell over when we need to,if we can bring in a right wing back that can come straight into the team that would be ideal.on halliday it would be a big no from me,were far too slow in midfield,we need some energy in there and not another player that is just as slow as our current options,he's only appeared for hearts 3 times this season and we're meant to be competing with accies and ayr for his signature,I would be giving him a miss.

  15. Miller being back in training should be a timely boost for us,him aside though our midfield options are horrific.it was pretty clear early in the season that we would be overly relying on miller and it will be the same again when he's fit,it's not good enough that we find ourselves in such a predicament.
