Just read the post about Smeltic having fewer cards than everybody else in the league and it brought to mind a guy who was on one of the phone ins last week who had found statistics somewhere which had worked out how many fouls it took for every team to get a yellow card. Almost everybody in the league get about 6 or 7 fouls per yellow card but the great unwashed have something like 13.5 before a card appears. Seems their continual whingeing last season is paying off big time. Don't know where the guy got the numbers and I presume he is also a bluenose to phone in but it makes interesting reading. I suppose some sad soul could sit and get the number of fouls against each team from the papers and divide it by the number of cards received to see if its correct but I can't be A***d. Celtic AGM today. Lawell having dig at other half of OF ( whats new there ??) and big scoop in the Rancid about Scottish internationist signing for the Bhoys and Lawell saying they will do everything to weed out the Pro IRA faction in their support. ( Aye right.) Oops he now says it's only the away support and it doesn't happen at the Tattiebowl which means they can't do anything about it. Any publicity is good publicity to them. Even Lennon only said he wants Faddy to go to Lennoxtown and see how he gets on. Big differnce from signing for his boyhood Heroes. Mon the Dossers.

Obviously he did nothing with his three opportunities then. How many times was he back helping out the defence at set pieces ?? I ain't saying Higdon was good on Saturday or comparing him to Murphy since they are completely different types of player but I am saying that too many people on here are willing to give Murphy the benefit of the doubt whilst blaming Higdon for everything that goes wrong. I still think that Murphy would benefit just now for a rest. It's beginning to look like Davie Clarkson all over again. Good season / too much expectation / loss of form. Mon the Dossers

Absoluite P**H Not trying to do Murphy down but when exactly was the last time he played well ??? Murphy - blue-eyed boy Higden - Cause of the worlds problems. Geezabrek.

Couple of guys along from me in the East stand were giving him abuse every time he went near the ball. O.K. today he was p**h but no more so than Murphy& Jennings IMO. NO chance of them getting stick though is there?? McHugh did more in 15 minutes today than Murphy has done in his last 6 games. The boy needs a rest. Play McHugh for a couple of games and see how he gets on. Mon the Dossers

O.K. so we're going with the same 11 that started on Saturday. I can go along with that BUT if it ain't working ( as was patently obvious on Saturday ) McCall has to have the balls to change it and not wait till the last 15 minutes to throw players on when they have no chance of getting into the game and changing it. 2-1 Well Mon the Dossers.

Afraid I have to fall into "it's time to give him a rest " category. I honestly don't think he has done us a turn this season ( apart from maybe Dunfermline) He just doesn't seem to have any idea where he should be playing at the minute. Maybe that's down to McCalls tactics but it ain't helping us at present. As soon as Daley came on yesterday and Hammell got the ball behind him he instinctively knew to make a run down the wing and drag his fullback with him. O.K. Hammell didn't make the pass but the defender was then turning and looking to see where other players were. I think thats what Hmphrey should be doing when Hateley gets the ball. Get off his mark and make a run using his pace to get into the space behind the fullback. Instead he always seem to be standing about 5 yards in front of Hateley waiting for a pass and then has to decide if he is going to run at the fullback or what. Maybe 6 or 7 times out of 10 he won't get the pass but on the other occasions the back is struggling to catch him. Maybe he isn't fully fit at present if the number of sticky tapes he has on the back of his thighs are any indication. If that is the case then don't play him and give somebody else a chance. Maybe he will come good on Tuesday night. Mon the Dossers

Current Well starting eleven ( usually) Randolph - Irish Hateley - English Hutcheson - English Craigan - N Irish Hammell - Scottish Jennings - English Law - English Lasley - Scottish Murphy - Scottish Humphrey - Jamaican Higdon - English Not a lot of Scottish talent there bursting to wear the dark blue.

As per usual don't expect to get anything when playing the Old Squirm especially on their patch. BUT after the start we have had this season I don't really care if they beat us every time they play us this year if we continue as we have done and take ponts off everybody else in the league we will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season. It's far more important to get the points off the other teams in the league and just hope we can maybe get a break sometime against the gruesome twosome. Mon the Dossers. P.S. 2 - 0 Well Higdon & Hateley.

Perhaps we could get somebody from Motherwell F.C.with a bit of expertise ( like say Bill Dickie ) to turn it into something worthwhile for the community like for example a Squash Club..

Andy P I wasn't having a pop at Craigen & Saunders. I just feel more comfortable if they play the ball forward to the midfield and let them hold it up until an opening comes along. If the central defenders do misplace a pass we are in a lot more trouble than if it happens further up the pitch. Anyway lets be happy at where we are at the minute and bring on the Buddies. Got to agree with most of above. We are 1-0 up and they are down to 10 men so we keep possession and make them run about and wait for a decent opening. But hey no there were a couple of punters behind me in the East Stand who kept shouting "Get the ba in the box" whenever Law , Hammell, Jennings or Hateley were playing the ball around . My only worry is that we do the passing thing too deep with Saunders and Craigen always giving me the jitters. If we are 1-0 up then play possession football but do it further up the park. We had a spell just after the goal when we did just that and we really looked the part.

No failures today with special mention to Hateley, Hammell and Nicky Law but I went for Big Darren Couple of excellent saves to keep another clean sheet and I think the players in front of him now know that he will be there if they cock it up. Need to make sure he doesn't have too many clean sheets though or the Smeltic family wil be looking to add a big Oirishman to their ranks. Mon the Dossers

Melvin do you really think United could turn down that deal if it's true ?? They could buy a new team with that sort of money.

Seems like Badboaby aint going to Ibrox. Talk-in on Radio Clyde tonight says he's off to Blackburn tomorrow for a fee of 2.8 million including add-ons and a percentage of any future transfer.

Both my mate and I are season ticket holders and due to bad management ( we let the women book a holiday) we will be in Egypt on the day of the final. That frees up 8 tickets for all the moaning gits on here who are worried about getting a ticket. There will be enough tickets for every Well fan that wants one. Mon the (Distant) Dossers

Fantastic performance from the lads ( particularly 1st half) . Lots of great performances but Hutchinson was the star performer for me. Never put a foot wrong all game . terrific when you remember he is only a young boy finding his feet in the big team. Anybody else think Humph was a wee bit jaded this afternoon ?? Never seemed to get into the game and I can't remember him once trying to take on the fullback. Never mind he's mibee keeping himself fresh for the final Mon the Cup Final Dossers.

Stewart McCall doesn't need told who is or isn't having a bad game. Heard his interview last night right after the game and he was talking about "young guys like Ross Forbes who makes mistakes from time to time" He also mentioned not putting on a fresh player in the last ten minutes because he only had young laddies on the bench and it wouldn't be fair on them to put pressure on them. We should remember we have played as many games as anybody ( more than most ) this season with probably one of the smallest squads in the country full of young players just starting on their careers. I think the guys have been magnificent this year; I know we have had some horror displays but what team hasn't. The team are blowing out their erses at the moment but we are still in the cup and look to be heading for another top six finish. Get behind them FFS Mon the Dossers.
