I really do want to know who the cuckoo in the well society nest is though and the evil plans they have for Motherwell fc I do know who " the source" is🤣
-
I'd like to know too. 🤣
-
I've seen more than one well society board member tweet that they don't want to give the majority control up.
-
You don't know this.
-
I think everyone wants the best for Motherwell. We all have that in common. If I didn't believe in fan ownership I wouldn't be a member of the Well society. I just think that the we are doing ok as we are isn't completely the case. The Well Society only has 3000 members I think and tbh that's the cause of all of this. If we had 10000 fans paying in regularly there would be less need to go looking for outside investment
-
That's completely correct - but it could have gone either way. A couple of months ago we looked like we were in trouble - and even though we are in the mix for top six - we still aren't mathematically safe either. I personally don't see anything wrong with someone proposing to put money into the club - because that's all it is at this stage.
-
He didn't say yes either so in light of that I find the McCafferty piece a tad odd. Particularly because the well society aren't involved in any negotiations at this point - so I am basically calling bullshit on any leaks.
-
That's actually not the case. He made it clear in the interview that details of the proposed investment would remain confidential. He's leaked nothing.
-
The article looks as if it's been cobbled together from the information in the email that was sent to well society members and the interview the potential investor gave. Where's the evidence that McCafferty knows more than anyone else when it comes to the negotiations - ones that the Well Society aren't involved in at this stage.
-
Published just before the vote in 2014 re Scottish independence
-
That's preposterous. McCafferty clearly knows nothing more than anyone else. The content of his article makes that clear. It's the headline that's misleading.
-
The point is is that this stuff shouldnt be getting leaked.
-
But.. There are people connected to mfc who know everything about the new proposals and I know nothing and I'm a well society member. Why should I keep paying into the well society in light of this?
-
No red line for me. The society need to get their act together and sharpish as far as I'm concerned. I want investment into my club and thats it.
-
Sounds positive. Hugely so.
-
Apparently yes. From people who "know" things according to other posts.
-
Youth development should always be at the core of the club. But if we had more money we could make more choices. We should not have to rely on selling talent to survive
-
Again agree. I want Motherwell to be in the position where if other clubs come knocking for our best players - we can say no. I also completely get that there's also a balancing act at times as well - do you sell for a good sum when you can or let talent go for very little - as happened with Max Johnson. Elsewhere on the boards folk were talking about the prospect of clubs coming in for Theo Bair - and he's only scored 13 goals I think. That's not me trying to talk him down. It just seems as if every time a player is either very talented or hits form - we resign ourselves to losing them. Also. It would be good to have a settled team - and not face the prospect of a rebuild every other season. Fan ownership is a great thing - but I really do think we need a cash injection from elsewhere
-
I personally don't think we should have to rely on selling our young talent to stay in the black
-
Absolutely. But I really do want outside investment. I think we need it. As much as I appreciate the job the well society have done I still think there hasn't been enough transparency over what's been done with the funds to date. I am sure it's been diverted to good causes. But where is the information? And I also see that the new board are doing good things. But... We have members of the board speaking out saying they don't want outside investment. I completely get that too I looked at my emails today. I got one email when I joined in 2018 and then nothing till 2022. I also absolutely appreciate that people do this in their own time for no money. If the well society don't want outside investment.. Then they need to look at raising a lot of money to inject into our club How do they do this? I need to be honest here. The they are doing better now after the length of time they've been going really isn't good enough They've had people giving them money when they've had very little and if they really want to make a solid case for fan investment they really need to get a move on
-
I wouldn't say it's failing - just that we don't have enough money coming into the club.
-
I agree but surely it's pretty well known that members can pay monthly contributions. I've been paying a monthly contribution since 2018.
-
I don't think you have but thanks for the clarification
-
Why are people entitled to a vote if they aren't paying into the well society?
