  1. Ultimately, that’s where we disagree. We had a relatively decent season last term, getting to two cup finals yet we’ve done nothing to note in terms of generating momentum. Ultimately, people want to see a team that plays decent football and wins. I’m not suggesting we have a divine right to win each week however the product at the moment clearly isn’t enticing an extra 500-600 people to come each week, which I totally understand; it’s pretty dross most of the time to watch the ball spending the majority of time in the air. arguably, our two most recognisable names from the past couple of seasons (moult and kipre) have left -they’ve performed well and earned moves so gripe there- however the club has done nothing to build positive momentum. ‘We had arguably one of our most lucrative seasons last time around with cup runs and transfer fees yet notable re-investment to the squad has been minimal. ‘Now once again, I’ve never suggested we go well over our wage bracket or break the bank on a couple of new signings however brining in 1 or two faces this summer with the ability to maybe bring a few bums back on seats should have been (in my opinion) a priority in order to build the momentum in mentioned above and quite frankly Conor Sammon isn’t going to do that. We’re going in circles and at one point, something will give in this model/mindset and it’s going to bite us badly.
  2. It’s an issue of mentality weeyin. Why should a fan owned club be comfortable with the situation/ be inspried to contribute more?
  3. Don’t worry, I don’t feel hounded (I know the deal) I’m just totally perplexed by a large cross-section of our support who are happy to support goings on yet will be the first to jump on these /other boards / stands further down the line to criticize the club, manager or structure come whatever month of the season, without pre-emptivly seeking a solution.
  4. I don’t even know where to begin Guys... truth be told, I’m quite appaled by the utter appathy/ reservation amongst our support. despite being hounded on these boards for the last few hours, I have the best intentions of the club at heart. I’m a significant monthly contributor to the well society and ‘was’ a season ticket holder for almost 20 years yet according to the majority, I’m talking utter nonsense with No sense of the club. I’ve never once advocated us paying too high wages (I realize where we are in terms of stature and finances), yet what I’ve advoated is a lack of acceptance in reverting to ‘type’. why the fuck should we settle for being a wee club with a wee mentality? Yes, be realistic, but also think big guys. lets have an ambition of competing in the top 4/5/6 consistlently, btw, to the poster above, im long in the tooth enough to remember Boyle)... selling top talent and beginning from scratch isn’t a model in any business, let alone football. We all contribute in our own way to the club and and fair to express our opinions however absuse on models for the club is ridiculous and shouldn’t be tolerated. yes, we can get heated in the vision for what we all contribute to, but the tone/stance taken is indicative of a “top wee, top poor, too stupid” mentality and will get us nowehere other than a couple of seasons in the championship...
  5. The levels of hypocrisy on this forum never cease to amaze...
  6. It has nothing to do with fan base, everything is relative - I have never suggested spending the same as they do, I'm using it as a model, not a literal example. Your second point isn't really relevant and the ever improving cannot be ignored, they have re-invested in the playing squad and brought themselves to a solid level to compete both domestically and European.
  7. Case and point, Hibs. They got to the final, won the cup, built on the success and took momentum into a league campaign, spiralling again into a European campaign and an ever improving squad.
  8. You do realise that none of the clubs you mention have achieved anything substantially other than what we have in the past years? Broaden your horizons and ambition man, deary me...
  9. I'm not suggesting for 1 second we pay silly money for players. What I want is for us to be in a position whereby we can reasonably expect to compete each season in the league and improve as a side. If our model is to continually sell our top players and replace with a standard not anywhere near close to that of the player which just left us, all we are doing is going back to square one each time, whilst others around us build on successes and grow squads capable of competing regularly with the top sides in our league.
  10. Unfortunately, It doesn't. Like for like now means bringing in a physically strong centre half with a number of first team games under his belt at a decent age. I'm not interested in reverting back to square one all the time and neither should the club be, we have to move forward.
  11. I’m becoming more and more frustrated by this summer as it rolls on. As I posted elsewhere on here, we’ve done nothing to capitalize on the positivity of the club from last season in terms of positive recruitment. I understand that the club has its model and it has worked here however I’d like to know what the contingency plan is? We’re two days from the start of a new season, with a handful of injuries and some positivily mediocre cup displays. It would be good if Robinson were to come out and actually state his intentions. Are we bringing in like for like (ie. Spending a little -not all of - money to re-invest) or are we trying to bring in another lower league English player on the hope it’ll work. i don’t see this in being any way long term conducive to a positive playing future at the club...
  12. The close season has been remarkably underwhelming. On the back of two cup finals and the improved cash flow, I had hoped we would have seized on the opportunity to bring in a marquee signing or two and raise the profile a little; with the aim of boosting gates - that hasn't happened sadly. Instead, we got Sammon... Cup displays have been utter dross therefore, personally, not feeling the normal buzz of a new season. Reckon team for this will be (baring injuries). --------------------------Carson--------------------- ------Kipre-----------McHugh-------Hartley Tait---------------------------------------ATS ------Cadden------Grimshaw-------Rose ---------Bowman-----Main Subs: Gillespie Donnelly Macguire Frear Bigirimana Gorrin Johnson Sammon Hoping for a 1-1 and stringing 3 passes together.
  13. With the raising of the profile of the club after the two cup finals last season, I’d really been hoping the ‘last’ summer signing would have been something of a marquee Signing. Whilst I’m sure the others we’ve brought in will fit well into the,at times, less than entertaining style that Robinson deploys, Sammon does nothing to inspire current support or others to put a few more bums on seats. It could’ve been such a coup for the club to bring in a ‘name’. In no way am I advocating breaking the bank and there are certainly other ways around this (tail end of career, loan etc.) however someone people recognize and would genuinely be excited about coming to see may have built on much of the good feeling around the club from last season and actually brought people to Fir Park. Instead, im fearful that another hoof ball season without two cup finals or players that a support are inspired to watch could be quite detrimental and quickly undo much of the good work of last season...
  14. I've seen it discussed earlier however, personally, I'm not 100% sure of how we are intending to set-up next season. I don't think Robinson will look to change anything too dramatically however we have some bodies that seem a little out of place. I'd imagine it'll be: -----------------------------Carson -----------------Kipre-------Hartley------Dunne Tait-------------------------------------------Taylor-Sinclair ---------------------Campbell--------------------- ------------Cadden--------Tanner ----------Main --------- Bowman Subs: Gillespie Mcguire Donnelly Grimshaw Rose Mchugh Gorrin Bigirimana Frear Turnbull Johnson We do seem to have too many options in the middle of the park so we must be looking to unload at least 1 I'd imagine... We could also be doing with another striker as back-up.
  15. Ciftci is a luxury player that we cannot afford to carry. We’d be best advised to carry this type of player (if that’s what we’re after) in a playmaker/Advanced midfield role in order to create chances and play crucial passes, rather than a striker imo. We need two strikers during the window - potentially with one having the versatility to play elsewhere. Easier said than done, however, is finding a counterpoint to Main. As said elsewhere, Bowman doesn’t have enough goals in his game so adding reinforcement is something we need to address. Still additionally looking for another centre half I’d imagine and left sided player. We haven’t seen thes announcement of any further bodies going out I.e. Bigirimana as some suggested so potentially a case for keeping things as they are and building a midfield around Campbell, Cadden and Turnbull/McHugh/Rose/Bigi through the centre next season. This would leave Tait and A.N. Other as wide players Wouldn’t be too surprised to see Frear offloaded still.
  16. More changes required than most people seem to realise, I’m afraid. Back-up/replacement keeper - check Aldred replacement - check Left Sided wide player - check competent holding midfielder to replace McHugh - check Striker x 2 - check probabaly needing 6 bodies in the summer. Someone capable of playing a pass would be highly welcome however with Robinson, we shouldn’t be holding the breath on that one. dead wood like Frear and Diamantis should we cut away and sadly I can see Bigi also facing the door. personally, I’d move McHugh on however it’s a bold move and one I doubt we will make.
  17. ------------------Carson --Kipre---------Heneghan------Dunne --------------Mchugh------Bigirmana -Tait-----------------Cadden---------Frear -------------Bowman------Moult Subs: Griffiths Mcmillan Plummer Campbell McLean Fisher Tanner 2-1 'Well with Hearts to score first
  18. We need to pick up 3 points here if we are in any way serious about challenging for the top 6 this season. We should be capable however it requires the intensity to be picked up From last week and a bit of composure when it matters. ---------------------------Griffiths --------Kipre-------------Heneghan--------- Dunne ---------------------Bigirimana----Rose-------- Tait----------------------Cadden---------------Frear --------------------------Tanner -----------------------Moult Subs: GK? Mcmillan Plummer Campbell Mclean Fisher Bowman Ps. We are still in desperate need for another Centre half and a striker
  19. ---------------Carson Kipre------Heneghan------Dunne ------------Mchugh----------- Tait-----Cadden----Bigirimana----McLean -----------Fisher-----Moult------ Subs: Griffiths McMillan Plummer Rose Campbell Gordon Bowman With Tanner and Frear injured, we can already see that we are a little light in the middle of the park, considering how Robinson prefers to set us up. We do need another number 10 and someone who can play wide right imo. The team should have enough about it to get a result, however I'll say 1-1.
  20. Contacted the club about this quite a few times.... As was said above, other clubs broadcast live oversees and we already have the tv cameras and commentary so should be a logical step!
  21. It's a mystery how we have managed to leave that game with nothing. Penalty was soft but understandable however we've had two stone wall pens denied which is infuriating. Curiously, the last 15 minutes or so were an almost replica of the league cup games where we dominated possession, flung a million crosses into the box and didn't make them count which we need to revise as it's not where we look dangerous. We need to start taking chances, fisher, Moult and bowman all guilty of that today. Nothing to be too worried about, just about adapting which will come with experience of the step up for many of the players.
