  1. ---------------------Carson -----Kipre---------Heneghan------Dunne -------------------Mchugh--- Bigirimana Tait------------------Caden------------Frear ---------------------Tanner-------- -------------------Moult Subs: Griffiths Plummer McMillan Rose Campbell Fisher Bowman We should (are) going into a home game with full intent of picking up 3 points. First game of the season is not a good marker for the rest of the season and there are always one or two outlying final scores across the card. We are a bit blind about tomorrow but Robinson is making the right noises and the above looks like a team which should be very capable of competing at this level. Forget the noises about rangers and play our own game tomorrow and we will do fine.
  2. After the three cup games so far, I still feel we are desperately short of a couple of crucial players. We are badly missing a number 10 with the ability to carry the ball centrally, run in behind and score goals. Secondly, we are still missing another centre half. That's on the basis of us keeping Moult and Heneghan btw. Will Robinson still look to move a few on? As much as I'd like to, I can't see McManus moving on just now however does anyone have insights to Blythe's status in light of the newspaper articles? Luke Watt? For me, the strongest line-up is looking like: ----------------Carson--------------- Kipre---------CD-------Dunne --------------McHugh---------- Tait------Cadden----Bigirimana----Frear (Just) -----------------N10.------------- -----------------Mout-------------- Subs: Griffiths McMillan Hammell Heneghan McManus (U20's coach) Tanner Rose Gordon McLean Campbell Bowman Fisher Thoughts?
  3. On the back of yesterday, where are we looking to still recruit? We still need a second goalkeeper - which I assume is Griffiths. Left back looks to be covered but we still need a Centre half (if we look to have mchugh and McManus as backup). In my opinion, we still need to see a new number 10 brought in and another forward. With the amount of midfielders we've recruited, I'm guessing we will see clay moved on, together with Blythe and Bowman. Assuming that a couple of the younger guys go on loan -such as Gordon - this should see us operating with a squad of around 18 which should be sufficient as correct for a club of our size. This also assumes that Lasley will be Robinsons new assistant /head coach.
  4. With the signings as they are, what is the thoughts on the team shape that Robinson is looking to build? Signings seem decent to me so far. My feeling is that he is looking to make us quite hard to beat and hit on the break - I just hope we don't become a one trick pony. I'm guessing we are looking at a team of: ------------Carson------------- Tait-------Heneghan-----CB--------LB ----------Mchugh----Bigirimana------- Cadden------ATM-------Tanner -------------Moult--------- Subs: Griffiths (TBC) McManus Hammell McMillan Gordon Campbell Frear Lasley Fisher ST I would imagine that we will move on: Blythe, Bowman, Clay and Thomas and bring in another 4 players (5 including Griffiths) on the above basis...
  5. Well, now that one of the most turgid seasons in memory is over we need to look ahead. Best to start with a fully clean slate imo. Remain to be convinced on Robinson however I can't see anyone at the club having the vision to make any change In that department. Regarding McFadden, he should be moved away from the assistant managers position and into a coaching role for the time being, we need a strong character for the job. It's going to be a huge summer for the club. I'd like to see us reduce the size of the squad as we've been carrying too many bodies over the past few seasons for the size of our budget. We need to focus on spending a bit more money on bringing in quality over quantity which I hope Robinson will also see. By my understanding, we are looking at a first team squad of: Rb: Tait Cb: Hennegan Cb: McManus Lb: Hammel Lm: Frear Cm: Mchugh Cm:Campbell Rm: Cadden St:Moult St:Bowman Sub: Macmillan Sub: Hastie Sub: Livinston Sub: Mclean Sub: Mackin I can see Robinson trying to move others such as Blythe, Thomas, Moore, Watt etc. on. In my personal opinion, I'd also like to see Bowman and Clay moved on too but I know that won't be popular with everyone. As for the others out of contract, I'd really like to see us keep McDonald but that isn't happening whilst Lasley should be moved to a coaching role imo. Realistically, we will be looking to bring in the following: Gk x 1 Df x 2 Mf x 3 St x 2 Interesting times ahead!
  6. Worrying times and noises around the club. We really need to make things a lot tighter (especially considering McManus won't be dropped). Completely agree with others posting that we are not creating enough in the middle of the park. I'd like to see us go with: ---------------------------Brill Tait--------Heneghan--------McManus---------Hammell (if fit) ----------------------------Lasley------- ---Ainsworth---------------Cadden---------McLean -----------------------------McDonald--- -----------------------------Moult Where are Blythe and Kennedy? Also making the decision to let Laing go out on loan look increasingly baffling?
  7. Belic, Blythe and Kennedy, perma-crock? On top of Mchugh... Quite a burden on the squad
  8. There's plenty still to be done and improvements are clear to see for most in the squad. McGhee has done well so far but it will be interesting to see how he starts to shape the squad. Quite a bit of dead wood that can be cut away I would suggest. Taylor going is a big relief and I would hope we could look to clear Reid, Robinson , Clarkson and Chalmers off the books - none of them have really set the heather on fire. Assuming that Moore (on loan) and Leitch are biding their time until contracts are up? We do need to strengthen in midfield and down the right hand side. Law is still targeted as a weak link in our side and improved or not, we do need a proper right back. Perhaps Watt could be the one however he isnt getting a look in at the moment. Central midfielder is essential in this window and someone to link up play would be a bonus. A centre forward also could be nice if we get rid of 2 strikers however hopefully we will see Fletcher begin to feature.
  9. So no Fletcher, Robinson, Taylor or Kennedy in the squad? Are we to assume that they are off in January? Also, where is Ainsworth?
  10. Where's Dirk Lehman these days?
  11. ------------------Ripley----------- Grimshaw----McManus----Kennedy----Chalmers ------------------Laing--------------- --------Pearson--------Lasley-------- -----Fletcher-----Moult-------McDonald Subs: Samson Watt Cadden Thomas Johnson Clarkson 1-0 Aberdeen
  12. I wasn't as baffled by the shape as some. Yes, we sat far too deep however McGhee seems well aware that we need to become hard to beat and narrowed the shape to reflect that. I wouldn't be surprised to see Lasley revert to right back next week, where McGhee has used him before - Law is utterly shite. Laing was anonymous in the first half however he was better in the 2nd and I think McGhee will sit him in front of the back 4 going forward and allow Pearson and Grimshaw to brake up play. Going forward is worrying. We have a plethora of strikers and are impotent. McDonald will start next week - he did a little focus up top when he came on without contributing greatly, as will Ainsworth. The question is who else, Moult was garbage today, Robinson is pish and Clarkson is stealing a wage...
  13. Grim. Shot on target? I've never seen a team so incapable of stringing any more than 2 passes together.
  14. Brutal. Johnson hasnt given the ball to a motherwell man all half!
  15. I'm really hoping it is a 3-5-2. Grimshaw will be told to play side to side with lasley breaking up play and Pearson going forward. Good line up. Than fuck someone has saw fit to drop Law and Taylor. Well done Craigan.
  16. Don't even know where to start with this.Ideally you would want someone to do all the things that Baraclough said he would however in reality, we just need to stop getting beat at the moment. Until the end of the season, I would be happy to take on a manager who knows how to get things organised and also carries a bit of gravitas. We seem to have a few billy big baws in the dressing room so someone capable of knocking them down a peg wouldn't go a miss. I have to be honest, we are crying out for a McLean type figure. We might not win every game with great flare but that type of manager would sure as hell make sure we don't get beat either.

    Baraclough Out

I'm hopeful he has the integrity to come out post match and announce his resignation. Not good enough

    Baraclough Out

The change of tone in here is quite noticeable. I'm starting to think its edging close to a majority who would like to see him go?

    Baraclough Out

The problem has absolutely bugger all to do with new players or a system at the club. The issue lies squarely with a lack of "grit" and determination to avoid getting beat (you can't always win). That grit and mentality starts from the manager and he has shown he isn't up to the job of installing that within the team.

    Baraclough Out

Without being harsh to the guy, the time has some. It's a results driven business and that is something he has been shown unable to achieve. We badly need someone to steady the ship, someone who can make us difficult to beat first and foremost. An earlier post showed that in Baraclough's 15 away matches, we have had 0 draws (losing 12) which is a shocking statistic. Can't quite believe I'm saying it, but we are crying out for a Craig Brown/Tomy McLean figure back at the club
