  1. Since there is a break in the tennis, here’s one I did a little while back but forgot to post on here. I am a sucker for white away kits with claret and amber hoops. Our last attempt at this design was spoilt in my opinion by a some what clumsy blue Zoom Airlines logo. A much better effort was done in the late 50s early 60s by Umbro. Sadly Umbro have all but disappeared from the UK football scene when they were sold by Nike to the Iconix Group for just £140 million, despite buying them for £377 million in 2008. They now mainly supply kits to teams abroad and will be a sad loss to the professional UK football kit scene. Umbro were the one company whom I wish we had had a deal with when they were going through that mini revival. They always took great care to research a clubs kit history and their designs always seemed to reflect that. This Umbro template had quite an odd looking collar, however it doesn't look too bad when given the C&A treatment.
  2. A little snippet from the Getty Images site about the Argentina tour... During the Argentina tour we wore claret and amber striped shirts, our original amber shade was much darker than it is now and can be difficult to make out in the sepia/mono pictures from the time. For the away kit we would wear black shorts instead of white.
  3. Some very rare memorabilla ECOSSE1991. I have some B/W photographs of our early globetrotting tours, if I find them I will post them on here.
  4. Come on, do it for the love of the beautiful game Stephen and sign for the mighty Well. You can’t say your no tempted.
  5. The original socks that went with the 1913 kit were claret with two white stripes. These were used up until 1928, however I have always thought that they looked a bit odd with those kits. A move back to amber and black could look good for a one off strip, or we could just stick with claret and amber. Strangely this years kit is the first time that we have embraced proper hooped socks for our home kit.
  6. I some cases the decision is decided for them, as gambling and alcohol sponsorship is banned on kids shirts.
  7. In an ideal world yes, however sponsors will usually want their brand on all replica shirts. Some bigger clubs offer non sponsored shirts for sale, and it would be interesting to see how many they sell compared to the one with the sponsor.
  8. Proof that kids love retro. We will order 500 first, and see where it goes from there.
  9. We need to educate the younger kids on our kit history fatcalf, and using the available templates to our advantage is one way to do it. This Puma template makes a perfect homage to our 1913 kit.
  10. I would imagine that they will be sold out by now, and If I remember correctly there wasn't that many manufactured.
  11. They never produced that top in kids sizes as they reckoned it would mainly appeal to adults.
  12. Retro is not for everyone, and maybe the younger market wouldn’t take to this retro Puma template.
  13. I had been meaning to Motherwell-ise the latest Uruguay Puma template for sometime, but never got around to it until now. The template is very reminiscent of our first ever C&A top and would make a very nice away or even a very brave home shirt.
  14. Like you big man I much prefer our kit/training wear to have a nod to our colours. I don't care what the main colour is, as long as there is piping or flashes of C&A somewhere on the top. IMHO just sticking a badge on a bog standard shirt seems lazy and uninspiring. I am guessing, but I would imagine it is all down to the cost and the time to produce gear in our bespoke colours.
  15. Agreed, unless they are paying their own way. Money is tight and there is no room for any free loaders.
  16. Agreed, the position has now been filled.
  17. Any chance of a Sevco pre-season game to see if we can beat them? I would even accept a closed doors victory.
  18. All good experienced players, I hope we manage to sign all four.
  19. It will certainly be interesting to see were they both end up. Sevco must surely be favourites to sign Rangers leg(bell)end Mark Hateley’s son?
  20. Higdon, Hateley and McFadden are all still listed on the official site as first team players. So until we here any different they will be with us next year. Over to you Motherwell.
  21. To my knowledge the club have said nothing about Higdon or Hateley, either it’s bollocks or they are just holding back on releasing the news.
  22. At least with Sutton we know the type of player that we are signing. We just need to get some good deliveries into the big man and he will slot them away. Higdon, Sutton is after your record! So when do we get the ‘feels like I have never been away’, ‘it’s good to be back’, ‘I should never have left’ and ’Well saved me from my Jambo hell’ style interviews?
