  1. Despite losing 1-0, I never tire of watching this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgPz1qobSyE
  2. Or East Kilbride's shopping centre indoor beach.
  3. This scenario will start to happen more and more. Clubs are struggling to find the money to be able to compete in the early stages of these competitions and UEFA are doing nothing about it. Motherwell are victims of their own success, and the only way to capitalise on that success would be to reach the more lucrative group stages. Anyone know how long do UEFA make clubs wait for their money?
  4. Going by those stats, pretty poor I think. The Norwegian league is a much higher standard and if he had repeated his Estonian scoring exploits there, he wouldn’t be coming to us.
  5. My wife is from the Isle of Skye and she says whisky.
  6. Cafe Gandolfi do a really nice Arbroath smokies linguine. The Two Fat Ladies restaurant in Blythswood Street also do a nice fish menu. I have never been to Crabshakk, however one of my mates highly recommends their fish. Failing that, you could just get a fish supper at the Rex Cafe in Motherwell.
  7. I would like to think that we can at least match St Johnstone’s crowd of just under 8,000. However the Russian’s are not a household name and are unlikely to attract that many floating fans. With us being regulars in Europe in recent times, there could also be a touch of apathy creeping in to our fans as regards these games. Along with money being tight, it will probably all add up to a few empty seats around the ground. Reaching the group stages would put us on a more secure financial footing amidst some troubling times in Scottish football. It’s a tall ask, however St Johnstone have shown that with a bit of determination it’s not impossible.
  8. Season ticket renewed (late as usual) and Euro ticket bought today without any hiccups. Can’t see it being anywhere near a sell out on Thursday, I reckon we will be lucky to get 8,500 in the ground. That would still a good crowd, however it would be nice to see a few more on the night.
  9. Unfortunately this happens every time we play them.
  10. For all we know they may have been fined and we just don’t hear about. Celtic have been hammered a few times in recent years. Most notable last week.
  11. I must have missed this story at the time... Joe Wark remembers 'Well with new book to help people with dementia
  12. It was obvious at the time, that the actions of a few would have future ramifications for the club. I'm not sure how you can prevent it, as people don't think of these things when throwing an A3 card in the direction of an opposition player. Unfortunately the only way to stop it, is not to have one in the first place. Is there not a similar issue with regards to flares?
  13. I assume other clubs have been reprimanded as well? Card displays are an increasingly popular way to celebrate events and surely other clubs have had similar issues with UEFA. I reckon they must just absorb the cost of any fines handed out.
  14. It's almost impossible to stop some card being thrown onto the park however it's a shame that the actions of a few spoil it for the rest.
  15. Any plans for a Scotland’s shame banner. In saying that it’s probably best to wait until after Thursday’s result.
  16. I can’t comment on the material or stitching of the new shirts, however I’m opposed to the cheap looking printed appliqué badges. I always favour having a fully embroidered crest, as in my opinion this instantly improves the look of the garment. Ultimately it’s all down to which method the manufacturer chooses to use, and in our case Genesis Sport/Puma appear to favour the latter.
  17. Exactly, maybe the outlook is not as ‘black’ as some people are painting.
  18. A winger would have completed what has been a good batch of new signings, although it's more important that with live within our means. Last year we pressed teams with our speed on the flanks, this year we will just need to play to our other strengths. Players like Humphrey were always going to be hard to replace, however, if by some good fortune we progress in the Europa league there might be money available for a loan deal to fill the void.
  19. I remember the interview, he was very blunt on what European football had cost Saints. To make money you need to draw a big team and secure a lucrative TV deal or get into the group stages.
