Today the St.Johnstone chairman was very downbeat over the financial side of qualifying for Europe. Last year it cost them £110,000 to for the plane and they only earned £90,000 from the round. A £20,000 loss for being successful, makes you wonder if Europe is financially the best thing for the smaller teams.

Hopefully we fielded our strongest team possible, anything other than that would not be right. -

C’mon motherwell get into these tractor boys. -
Almost certain, it would give our fixtures against them a bit of an edge.

It has been far too long since our last cup win. Some diddy teams have got their hands on silverware in recent times and it's about time we did the same. I would accept a diddy cup win, however the real prize is the Scottish Cup. Next year we should aim for a league championship and Scottish cup double.

Now that would be a ‘black’ day which would rival the appointment of a certain Maurice Malpas.

A message from Motherwell... Folks, At the end of the game today, as Darren had gone off, he left his towel in the goal. Unfortunately, from the BBC Alba footage of the match, we can see someone (with a green hooded top) picks it up and takes it away whilst walking back off the pitch into the South Stand. It might not seem like much, but the club would really like it back. It holds sentimental significance to people at the club as it has the number 10 on it, along with Phil O'Donnell's embroidered signature. It has been at the club since Phil passed away and has gone to every single match since. We don't want to make a big deal of the person taking it, we just really want it back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chris Humphrey for me. At times County struggled to cope with his pace. I wish him well wherever he goes.

Rennie had a hard act to follow and despite a few dodgy moments (Airdrie Cup semi) he was a very good keeper. Talking of those Airdrie semi finals, is there any video footage kicking about of those games?

In McCall we trust. Apart from Daley his signings have all been pretty good, and you would like to think he has took some advice from Marshall and possibly Randolph.

I noticed that the Wigan away kit has the same cell effect on the top half of their shirt.

A fantastic achievement by the boys, like most Well fans I would have settled for a top six finish. To get second has surpassed all my hopes for the season, Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts and Dundee United were all fancied to claim that spot but Motherwell have shown that they are truly the second force in Scottish football.

I haven’t spotted one for sale in a while, however if you keep checking the usual vintage kit shops one might appear. Vintage Football Shirts Classic Football Shirts

Roma at times have produced some classy white away kits. This adidas away shirt from 91-92 is a personal favourite...

I think that is the point that most people are making. Templates are a necessary evil these days, especially if your kit is made by any of the big kit manufacturers. We have had black kits in the past, however in my opinion the most successful ones have had a touch of C&A. The new away kit could belong to any side but with a touch of C&A it makes the template a little more bespoke. On a personal front I have always preferred white away kits with flashes of C&A. This combination to me just seems right.

I like the cell design on the top part of the shirt, however it reminds me of the sort of pattern that usually appears on goalie tops. As for the over all look, it still reminds me more of training kit rather than match wear.

Chris can be frustrating at times, however we will certainly miss his pace on the wings as on his day he can strike fear into any opposition. Good luck to him where ever he goes.

The club shop have always been good at providing fans with retro alternatives to the traditional home and away replica tops. The recent Admiral retro and the 125 top have attempted to fill the gap for people who prefer to buy traditional tops without sponsorship. We have one of the best provincial club shops in the country and I am sure they will keep providing alternative options to those who don’t like or want to buy the main kit. I reckon the new home kit will be a grower, however I am not so keen on the leaked away top. I have always been a retro kit fan, so in that respect the kits are not really aimed an old guy like me.

I would probably agree, however due to the design of this Puma template it would still have a training kit feel.
-
Spot on. I just checked the magazine in Tesco and it will be our new away top. Our new home shirt was also featured in the MotD magazine priced also at £30. I would imagine that the full kit will look something like this...

Our classic 1960's white floodlight away looked a bit like this... The one before the white admiral top was probably the Umbro white claret and amber sash kit. This is my all time favourite Motherwell away top. The white Umbro top looked a bit like this... I think Fatcalf has a note of all our away kits, so he is probably the best one to ask on the subject.

As long as he is fit enough to play in the Ross County game.

An unfortunate end to a great night for Higgy and Motherwell. He is the first player from Motherwell FC to ever win the award and in some media circles it will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. I suspect we will get Higgy's or Motherwell's version of events at some point.
