This Rangers team are shite, and we are showing them too much respect. Without Black and Templeton they are looking very ordinary. Our best chance was when Law was one on one with their keeper, and I felt he should have done better. Still pretty hopeful that we can do it in normal time.

This is not too bad considering the game is live on council telly. Here’s hoping that we get the right result.

I spoke to Donald Ford many years later about this game, and how that he broke my heart that night. Donald was a really nice guy and was the Hearts equivalent to Dixie or Willie P. It’s funny as a kid you tend to hate certain opposition players, but if you get the chance to speak to them later in life I tend to find that they are usually very nice. Donald was one of the nice ones!

Correct, they are no where near the standard of previous Rangers sides. They have some good SPL quality players but they also have some young inexperienced players as well. As you say, we need to overcome the mental block of playing at Ibrox. If we can ignore the crowd and play to our strengths, it’s a tie that we should win.
