  1. That was a nice shirt! There is one featured on our oldfootballshirts.com kit archive
  2. Nice shirt Fatcalf. A wee homage to that top could be quite smart. The shirt design would even work quite well in petrol blue.
  3. I would be very, very shocked if we had no shirt sponsor for next season. Even during our darkest hour we managed to get a deal with The Untouchables.
  4. You know you want to!
  5. Have you kept a record of our away kit history Fatcalf? I’m not sure if the club have bothered keeping tabs. Dave at Historical Kits has been employed over the years to produce graphics of the home and away kit archive for some of the bigger clubs. Usually it is done with the help of a club historian. He produced the Glasgow Rangers home and away kit archive for the Rangers Miscellany book, which was done with the help of Sandy Jardine. I’m sure Sandy is/was employed by Rangers as their official club historian. A strip archive would be a welcome addition to the official club website or even a kit history book would be nice. It’s always sad when these important parts of a club history are lost.
  6. It would be a mammoth task to do every UK teams away kit archive. It’s probably hard enough sourcing and detailing all the various home kits. As I said before you would need access to club or SFA registered kit records. It would be nice though to have some sort of graphic/pictorial record of all our home and away kits.
  7. I would hazzard a guess that away kits were rarely worn then, with teams prefering to use their home kit where possible. I’ve always thought it would be good to try and catalogue all our away kits at some point. For this you would need access to club records where you would hope there should be information on all our home and away kits. Failing that, the SFA records should have a log of all registered kits for the different seasons. The Summer Cup kit was a classic and individual players portraits were taken in the build up to the game. With few kits clashing with our unique home colour combination it was probably rarely required to be worn again. I wonder what the reason was for wearing it in the first place. Surely Dundee United were wearing their then traditional white kit with black trims?
  8. Lucky we’ve not got Beaver84 as our sponsors just like the Motherwell girls team had last season.
  9. Rickoza I think you were robbed. The first ever shirt sponsorship to appear on our ‘first team’ kit was indeed Scottish Brewers. This was only a short term deal from around February 1984. Whether it was only for a Cup Competition dosen’t matter, history will show they were the first sponsors logo to appear on our top. Stelrad had some sort of shirt deal with the youth set up but not the first team. Unless of course someone can show evidence to the contrary!
  10. Our shortest ever shirt sponsor deal as Scottish Brewers were only on it for a few months before we moved to Ian Skelly at the start of season 84-85. A smart move in my opinion as the Brewers logo looked a bit odd on our kit. I'm not sure how much we were paid for this short term deal but I hope it was worth it.
  11. End of an era for Motherwell tops as this was our first strip to carry the dreaded sponsors logo.
  12. Former Scotland keeper Alan Rough put his private shirt collection up for sale last week. One of shirts was the then 70’s standard Puma template. Although in my opinion not as classic as the rival Adidas three stripes design, I always quite liked it. Maybe Puma should bring it back in C & A. Austria 70’s C & A version
  13. The largest online fantasy football kit design site has thousands of so called logo copyright infringements every day. As far as I’m aware Puma, Nike, Adidas and various other companies obviously turn a blind eye to it. They probably see it for what it is, just some amateur kit designers having a go at designing their ideal team kit. The only way round it would be to design your kit with manufacturers badges and include a link to the fantasy kit site. That way, if Puma and Motherwell have a problem they can take it up with them and not SteelmenOnline. Football Shirt Culture Fantasy kit Design Site
  14. As long as the template is Stuttgart it will be fine. Edit: forgot to post the latest Puma kit launch... Rennes
  15. I agree fatcalf the over fussy claret bit is shit. You have to watch with Puma, depending on which template you choose you could be landed with a dodgy collar. We can but pray!
  16. Funny I actually meant to make it white. Thought I better remove the Puma logo from this one incase of any copyright issues.
  17. Very rough photoshop colour change...
  18. The Motherwell template has arrived... Stuttgart’s new Puma kit.
  19. They must have missed the pass back then.
  20. Very rough fatcalf, but here you go...
  21. I’m not sure what would stun me more, ASB or RBS. If I was to guess our new sponsor you would have to say it will probably be yet another online gambling company. Sadly during this recession, it’s still one of the few areas of business still splashing the cash.
  22. Are RBS not 70% state owned. If they were to become our new sponsors we would effectively be a partially goverment backed team. Cameron and Clegg might even take in a few games.
  23. The ASB thing started out as a joke on a spoof diamond shirt. I would be very, very surprised if they became our new sponsor. And Bop is correct, he never mentioned ASB.
  24. Interesting short article/view on Puma on the designfootball.com website. Puma=Idiots Can't say that I agree with all the points but the silly 'Boxing' belt buckle style shorts do in my opinon look a little daft.
  25. I can’t see it ever happening. The powers that be would make sure of it. Unless of course they offered an obscene amount of money. Also, replica shirt sales would plummet!
