Not sure how it passes a health and safety check. Maybe they only inspect at the start of the season? I did notice the water collecting in the buckets and it reminded me of Fir Park in the 60's and 70's, now that was a health and safety risk. His stock has gone down since the Scotland job but I would take him in a heartbeat. International jobs are different in that you have no real control over the players on a day to day basis and that is where I think George Burley's strengths lie. He built a strong team at Hearts and he could potentially do the same for us. He won't have the same financial resources as at Tynecastle but I'm sure that won't put him off applying.

Just remembered the classic . Archie is only in it briefly when Walter invites him to come over to listen to Chick talking oot his arse. Maybe that's what is required, some old school no nonsense approach. Jim Gannon should have employed the same interview technique as Walter instead of his vow of silence with the media.

That would surprise me as I never got the opinion that he held the SPL in that high regard. After being in the Well hot seat for a few months I got the impression he was quite shocked at how poor the overall standard was.

I said after hearing Gannons opinions on Saturday's game he sounded like a man who was about to chuck it. Obviously that decision has been made for him. I'm not as surprised as I thought I would be as Jim was not your normal run of the mill type of manager. Personally I quite liked Jim Gannon, but I could imagine he could be hard to work with. Who would I want as our new manager? Well I wouldn't say no to Jimmy Calderwood, he knows the Scottish game very well and I believe he would secure our place in the SPL. I think it's unfortunate that Dundee United are looking for a manager as well, as I believe they will have first refusal on any managerial JobSeekers.

This thread got me thinking about the great Willie Pettigrew's stats and according to wiki he scored 80 Gls in 146 App for the Well. If accurate (it is Wiki after all!) that's none too shabby.
