  1. 3 more pics from the sold out 1928 South American tour. Motherwell Football Club on tour in Argentina, May and June 1928, Photo shows: Buenos Aires Select XI 1 v Motherwell 0, at the River Plate Stadium, May 13th 1928, The crowd arriving at the Stadium which was packed to capacity with enthusiastic South American fans who saw their team win 1-0 with the winning goal being scored by Sposito, Motherwell enjoyed a period of great success between 1927 and 1934, when they were always in the top three of Scotland's First Division, They were acknowledged as the most attractive side in the country, scoring more goals than any other team in Division 1 for 4 consecutive seasons, During the summer of 1928 Motherwell set sail for a prestigious tour of Argentina, By the end of the tour they had accumulated 2 silver cups, 2 shields, gold medals and a tour record of: Played 11, won 6, drawn 1 and lost 4, Their final match was against Brazil, and, as time was short before their ship sailed, the team had to travel to the docks still wearing their football kit, The trip had been organised by a London agent Mr,E,Alcaraz, and the club received a profit of 5000 for the 11 match tour, with Mr,Alcaraz receiving a fee of 2000 as promoter
  2. I'm afraid he's lost out again. They've went for a paper girl.
  3. I like my seat too much to allow that shower anywhere near it!
  4. Billy Reid is a guest on Craigan's BBC Radio Scotland show tonight at 7pm. Should interesting to here his take on his dugout mishap.
  5. I have heard those rumours as well. No smoke without fire as they say. God I hope it's all pish. Last thing we need is to find another manager (Mind you Jimmy Calderwoodstain is available at a moments notice) .
  6. He's dingy him so far. Maybe Flow's just waiting for the right moment. The official site wouldn't want the Sky TV treatment from Jimbo.
  7. Watched the game on Alba and I have to agree he appeared to have a good game, despite not having alot to do. Looks like no matter how Fraser plays he will be critised by a section of our support. Certain players can do no right in the eyes of some. I think Ruddy is the better keeper but I don't think he would have prevented todays goals. Come January Fraser might be the number one anyway if Ruddy's loan deal is not extended. So it may be a blessing that he gets a few games under his belt sooner rather than later.
  8. I was surprised with Jim's comments during the BBC interview earlier in the week. I genuinely think he may regret saying them and in hindsight would probably have not. You can't tease the press and not expect them to speculate on the names. Jim is a great manager and has the potential to be our best since Tommy McLean. I think he has learned a valuble lesson this week and when he begins to speak to the media again we may see a more guarded Jim Gannon.
  9. Going by the picture it looks to have been struck at a nice height for the keeper to save.
  10. Ah what might have been. 4pts dropped so far due to missed penalties v Rangers and today v Hamilton. If both had gone in we could have been on 22pts and sitting comfortable in second place.
  11. Not available on Virgin. Only on Sky tv.
  12. He appears to have had quite a good relationship with the press up until now. It would just be good know his opinions as soon as possible on what was a hard fought derby draw. Strachan went down this same route of being ackward with the media. I hope Jim sorts out the problem with the press so we can look forward to his well thought out and intelligent comments once again.
  13. I agree. No matter what has gone on I think the manger of any team should say a few words after a game. Even if you get into a Gordon Strachan situation where you only give one word smart arse answers, you should still make yourself available. Ah well, looks like we will need to wait for the official site for Gannons opinion on the game.
  14. Gannon is refusing to speak to the media after todays game.
  15. Humphrey injured Well down to 10 men
  16. A lttle bit of trouble in the stand according to the radio! Probably just handbags.
  17. Jennings comes close! Come on Motherwell get the winner! 2-1 Accies. Fu*k
