  1. Canterbury is not the only kit manufacturer that is having money problems... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8184832.stm Adidas sees profits plunge by 95% Sportswear giant Adidas has reported a fall in profits for the April to June period of 93% as consumer spending fell during the economic downturn. Net profit came in at 8m euros ($11.5m; £6.8m), compared with 117m euros for the same period a year earlier. Sales fell 2.5% to 2.46bn euros. But the company was upbeat about its prospects for the rest of the year. "I believe we have seen the bottom in our financial performance this year," said Adidas boss Herbert Hainer. "We did not see any fundamental deterioration in our business since publishing our first-quarter results... I am confident that our results will improve as we go through the remainder of the year," he added. Sales grew in the US and in Latin America, but fell in most major European and Asian markets. The company also said that profit margins were squeezed due to higher operating costs and an increasingly competitive retail environment. For the full year to date, the company reported a profit of 12m euros, down 96% on the same period a year ago. Sales were down 2% to 5.03bn euros. Adidas is the world's second-biggest sporting goods maker, after Nike. The German firm bought Reebok in 2006 to help it compete against Nike. It also owns the Taylormade golf brand, where sales actually increased during the second quarter.
  2. I was obviously happy that we lived to fight another day but the same can't be said for the players released. There was a lot of anger towards JB they really felt they had been shafted. The payments they received from the administrator if I remember correctly were the bare minimum that's legally required by law. BBC's take on the story
  3. Probably similar to our 2006 away.
  4. Based on our 60's away top.
  5. It was a nice kit but in my opinion it failed on two points. The lack of amber on the collar and cuffs and the fact it wasn't a hoop. The home had the same problem.
  6. Is it certain that our new away kit will be claret? My personal preference would be for a white away kit with a touch of C&A either as a hoop or diagonal sash. The last claret away I really liked was our Pony mid 90's C&A pinstripe number.
  7. What do you mean the games off? Coyle and Coyne strike again Arnott gives Mowbray a hard time Goalkeepers, some good some bad
  8. They are a quality side who to be honest should be in the Champions League. Best we can hope for is a draw. My heart says 1-1 my head says 1-3 to Steaua. Europe over for another year.
  9. Just mentioned on Radio Scotland that there was a minutes applause for Paul McGrillen and Bobby Robson at todays Celtic v Sunderland game. Both their pictures were on the big screens. Well done Celtic.
  10. Hope you bring us some good luck and it ends with 3pts for the mighty Well!
  11. Doesn't seem that long ago that Paul and Jamie were playing in our Masters side.
  12. 2-1 Sigma against Aberdeen. Poor week for Scottish teams in Europe.
  13. Poor streams for the match. Sssssstuttered more than Gareth Gates.
