Maybe it would have been better to have a match between two youth sides one from the South/North Lanarkshire and one from Manchester. Using Fir Park as a venue would have given proper young grass roots sides an opportunity to play in a big stadium.
Couldn't agree more. Despite being born near Bellshill you wonder if he ever set foot inside Fir Park or bothered about his local 'big' team. I doubt if I'll be going to the game and i think we will be lucky to see a 1000 fans in the ground. He was a great manager but I can't see why we are playing this game.
Humour is subjective but I personally don't find the paedo song amusing. I just think there are funnier chants and banter that could have been directed at McGhee.
Not a song but the recent Everton 2 shop that opened in the Liverpool 1 shopping centre was a classic example of funny football related humour.
I wasn't at the game but if some of the chants are correct the people who sang them should be ashamed. It is one thing winding up the opposition but personal abuse of this nature is not called for. There are other 'songs' you could sing to show your displeasure of McGhee the paedo song is not one of them.
Usually it's the Jambos and the Old Firm I hope we beat most. This year it has to be McGhoo's Dons. To beat them home and away this season would be bliss.
I'll go 3-2 Motherwell.
I don't get to many away games but when i do i prefer the atmosphere created by a small band of fans in another teams stadium. It's also great beating a team on their own patch.
Not sure why as it works fine on mine. In saying that I'm not technically minded so i couldn't help if i wanted to. Maybe someone else will have the answer.
I've talked to a Glasgow taxi driver who has also spoken to JB on many occasions. The only thing that shocked him was when I happened to mention JB was married! He was truly stunned by that revelation and I can't think why.
Commenting on a cheeky Maradona-style goal bid spotted by ref Dougie McDonald, Well's JAMIE MURPHY confessed: "It was a handball. I don't know what I was thinking of. It was just a reaction. I apologised and took the yellow card."
Football is too expensive and nothing you or I say or do will change it.
Football abroad is cheaper but prices at the gates are probably subsidised by mega bucks TV deals and crazy sponsorship deals.
