  1. It's a bit of a reach and hence the qualification of seems to be. Certainly at half time on tuesday my thoughts were we seemed to be overcooking things. Arguably not something entirely new but wondered with Faddy on the bench the desire to impress wasn't having at least a subconscious effect. Could yet still be positive if players ultimately raise game but either way an ugly win on wednesday with Faddy on bench for 90 minutes be just as welcome as a win with him starting and being majestic.
  2. Not sure about Humphrey on the left but Faddy played loads of games on the right down in England or least I recall seeing him there good few times, I rather he was out right cutting in than being tied to the left wing. Not sure where best to utilise him. My instinct says he should play a more central role lying behind Higdon getting beteen other teams midfield and defence. He has the technique and vision to surely cause problems and not need to rely on pace. Indeed should be ideal for feeding likes of Humphrey and Ojamma if not finding space to hopefully threaten himself. Thought Higginbottom looked tidy against Utd but no end product, promising looking lad but I wasn't concerned seeing Lasley come back in to in theory add a bit more grit. I hoping despite patchy form Hately is back for Wednesday, Hammell also for a less makeshift looking defence. Never get hopes up for these games but we are no more or less likely to pull off a result on last couple of games form. Will go along with small hope and no expectation. Any points gained will be a big boost. Is it time to start Faddy? For better or worse we've signed him, we need to get him playing and hope he clicks with the rest. As Melvin says he seems to be casting a big shadow at the moment, get him in for some starts and hope within a game or two he is doing the business and the rest are playing with him and not just running around on the same patch of grass.
  3. If we had managed to hold onto to Jenning's and Clancy I maintain we'd have been out of sight by now in 2nd. Not to be however and destiny very much in our own hands still despite being in middle of a poor run. Best way to get over today is win the next match, nice and simple.
  4. Not saying it going to happen again but we've had a couple of decent comebacks this season. County a tough place to do it mind you on by sound of it rotten pitch.
  5. First half we were pretty decent, had plenty of the ball and moved it round well. Started really brightly and looked threatening. However it never really got beyond that, we looked threatening but never really threatened with anything you could look back on as solid chances. Second half we just didn't look right at all and for all we played a lof of the game in their half the number of times they carved us open on the break was worrying. Some decent saves by Randolph and some profligacy from them kept us getting a bit of a doing in the end. McFadden needs a bit of time to settle in, hopefully get a longer run out on saturday and with the lowered expectation we'll perhaps see the team back to playing like we've mostly been accustomed to this season.
  6. Not exactly, 4 pumpings off Celtic still creates a big gap.
  7. Says to me we're not going to push the boat out for him. There could be a place for him but we're skint and know he not likely to want any sort of long term commitment. So if he desperate to play rather than find the best deal it might be something might that happens. Wouldn't hold my breath any more than in the summer but he'd dp well signing on here even if offered buttons. He needs to play some games, though if Forest were willing to take a punt then someone else at that level might.
  8. Right the general point about contracts and uncertainty is fine but the last part WTF. We're fighting for second place and whilst we've lost a game of football today it's been by the sound of it no means the worst perforamance we'll put in this season. Where does this lack of effort and confidence come from?
  9. FFS one minute we're 1-0 down but playing no to bad albeit missing chances I check in later we're 2-0 down and completely lost the plot finishing with 9 men!
  10. To be honest didn't look at the details of Norways TV deal. Not sure how well that level of coverage would go down. Especially when we want fans to go to games and not just watch them on the TV. Wonder how fans in Norway will take to it. I suspect even if we offered that many games there would be little interest in buying it.
  11. Just to add that been playing 4 times a season all my live, since the initial Scottish Premier league started before I was born in the 70's. The SPL is pretty much responsible for the rest and more mind. This proposal does seem to have some sense in among the madness of the strange split and is it confirmed bottom league of 18? I think you can sustain a top division of 18 with interest at top and bottom if the general state of the game is in good health. But if we have no pyramid system and relegation at the bottom of it then 18 in bottom division is a dreadful idea. Personally I want to see most of my games on a saturday 3pm. I don't object to midweek fixtures and some rescheduling for TV if the money is worth it. I believe Norwegian league, a country with a similar population has a deal that pisses on SPL's. Seriously we should be able to do better, it's not like English football isn't an attraction on TV there either. Norway TV deal Sunday 3pm is fine now and again, don't even mind any other midweek kick offs provided they flagged up least couple months in advance but there should definitely be a limit on the times what any one club is asked to move. I want to see a league that has some semblance of competition. One and two horse races have been killing the game for fans and as a product for the last 25 years or more. Do all the mucking around you want if it just boils down to Rangers and Celtic we don't have a league worth the name. I know it has always been dominated by them but not since we won the league in 1932 to break a run from 1904 has there been such sustained domination. The cost of games needs to come down. I can just about accept paying £20 when I walking up to Fir Park(don't think it is worth it really) but clubs need to find some way of making it cheaper for travelling fans if not all fans. Away end tickets should maybe be set at a max of 75% of what you charge home fans. I know there could be issues, would you try and pay into the south stand if it was cheaper week in week out? But if overall price can't come down something needs to be done. I enjoy away games but cost is prohibitive. If the proposals lead to any meaningful change in respect of competition at top and cost I'll be surprised.
  12. Playin fields sold off by Tory governments(probably New Labour ones also) Dunno about binning school football, still existed when I went to school in the 90's.
  13. Ojamma made him look a diddy as well, can't handle anyone that can turn sharply either. He's the same as he was when left us just less potential now.
  14. Another minor irritation, kills my game of football for the week.
  15. Yeah I realise using Messi as an example was slightly tongue in cheek at best, sure can find a range of talented wiry/small quality players. It not the biggest impediment but certainly think to make it at a high level you need to be really good. Murphy I fear is just good, but it be nice to be proven wrong if he ends up in the premier league in fullness of time.
  16. By being arguably the greatest footballing talent in te gistory of football for one. I think it is a fair point that Murphy's slight frame would have put off some. All that said I think you'll find he stronger than he looks or he wouldn't be hacking in the SPL these last few seasons.
  17. We seem to have been in pretty quick so hoping McCall has been keen to get him and he proves his worth. At the very least if he starts in a similar role to Murphy we won't be 100% sure that he'll cut inside firt time he gets the ball.
  18. Aye 2 approx 7's sized pitches behind the South Stand. But I don't think we provide changing facilities. Also it not quick the same as having a huge astro pitch at Fir Park and playing on it of an evening. Not advocating that change but if we did I'd be encouraging organiser of my 7's game to ditch Ravenscraig for Fir Park!
  19. Brown has lost it. Willie Miller bit of a cock as well describing Huddersfield as 'the likes of them'
  20. Murphy copped plenty flack in his time, but there a big difference when you miss a pen in a game you romping and missing one at Parkhead for a rare old firm win. Hately is at the moment not exactly mr popular from a mediocre season either and Murphy has been going through a decent spell of form.
  21. Have you noticed the crowds we been getting this season. Outside of European games and Celtic we haven't touched 6000 at a single match. Including matches against likes of Hibs and Hearts that usually bring a decent crowd and Aberdeen on boxing day. Given we're also out both cups and whilst going well in the league it is tight and a bad run could see us plummet we almost certainly need to get a bit of cash in. It is disappointing to see good players like Murphy leave but as much as I like Murphy he hasn't shown the type of ability that makes you think he is going to excel at the highest level but it been clear for some time he can probably at least get a chance at a bigger club and he made it clear he is eyeing up that chance so not likely to sign a new deal. Darren Randolph has been consistently top class for 2 and a half seasons now and where are the offers? The club can't magic big money offers out of thin air. As for point of youth development, well getting to watch good players is reward enough. Raking big fees is a not unwelcome bonus if they happen to really stand out.

    2012

I might be remembering this stat wrong that I was informed off the other night, but I believe we picked up a record haul of points in a calender year for a non OF club.
  23. Presuming no one else comes in I'd like to see Bob McHugh get a few games to see how he does with more game time. Bit more of an orthodox forward and Ojamma maybe more of a free role on the left.

    Ojamaa

No Ojamma no brief flirtation with the CL. Goals or not this season he still contributing. Kirkysupersub isn't wrong about one thing, the shite on this place after a defeat is stupid beyond belief. You could be mistaken for thinking a sizable percentage of the support are idiotic c***s, trolling or otherwise.
  25. I agree that Hately has pretty much been shocking this season. However who is he supposed to be dropped for? Saunders, wait a minute pretty much injured permanently and most people reckon he is a bombscare some reckon he has some promise but either way he not been available. Kerr he played a couple of games at in centre and at full back, did ok in a couple been a bombscare in others. Ramsden, missed half the season with injury and untried with us at right back far as I remember. Hately is playing because he pretty much all we have.
