Not necessarily, there many other factors. If 5 clubs want Murphy in Jan and only 1 wants Ojamma then could easily see the bids for the former go up. How much cash do the bidding clubs have sloshing around, a club flush with cash might be tempted to bid higher to get their man than ones looking purely for a bit of January bargain hunting. Contract length clearly plays a big part in player valuation but it not the be all and end all. How much someone wants the player combined with resources and competition for him all come into play. I still hoping we keep them all together(though if decent fee comes in and we can get a replacement I fine with that) and push on for 2nd place. We'll still likely lose a few in the summer but the financial reward should ease the pain of the rebuilding process.

His career has stalled a wee bit? I suppose if you look at the goalscoring impact he had last season compared to this. But after an indifferent start I reckon he settled into some decent form and has been a pretty important part of the team. So I hope it turns out to be garbage and he stays but if we need the money and it is the best offer on the table then so be it.
-
You been hanging around MJC? Whilst I expect nearly if not all those players to move on at the end of their contracts I seriously can't see us selling them all in January. If money is tight and bids come in I can see us selling one or two and bringing someone in to replace them in January but selling them all would require clubs offering stupid fees.
-
If the fee for Ojamma lets us keep Law or Randolph then it isn't so bad a deal. Not sure likely to be the case. I like Ojamma and think despite not being as prolific this season he still offers something but I'd certainly hope this deal had add on's if he does well. It a bit of a snip for a promising young player.

So we're playing on a friday night because?

If someone offers a 7 figure some for any of our players it would have to be considered. No one is likely to offer that mind, outside chance on Hutchison seeing as his contract isn't up in the summer but even so I'd be a little surprised. Any of these chance your arm piddly fees should be batted out the park whilst 2nd place is up for grabs which hopefully will still be the case come the tail end of january.

Ferguson to replace eh no one thanks very much. Rather stick with Lasley! Or when he can't do the job someone younger not older as a replacement!
-
Aye it been pure tough times under McCall, you did well lasting this long.... needs

Well Hump is fast and I'd be happy to keep him but Daley I yet to see anything to suggest he's as quick as made out to be. I'd let him go, had a few decent games last season but rarely makes an impact in games.
-
Atmosphere has been apathetic for years at most games. I think there is still a general downward trend. Outside small pocket at end of East stand rarely hear a murmour.

Think we got a fair bit of competition in the forward roles it is tough to pick from if we including start of admin period, James McFadden, Ross McCormack, Chris Porter, David Clarkson, Jim O'Brien, Scott McDonald, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Stuart Elliot, Chris Sutton, Michael Higdon, Jamie Murphy. Everyone of those players is worth a little bit of consideration, some more than others mind. On that note I'm going to go for what I think was our bet collective unit. McCormack Porter Clarkson Midfield I can't off top of head think of quite the same sizes of list, contenders would be Stephen Hughes, Steve Jennings, Keith Lasley, Phil O'Donnell, Giles Coke, Stephen Pearson, Kristian Vadocz(tenuous given short spell), Nicky Law. Given I went with a front 3 need probably need to do likewise midfield. A bawhair from putting Hughes in, on first season form he would get it but Lasley gets the nod for higher level of consistency. Law, Jennings, Lasley Back four contenders, Steve Hammell, Jim Paterson, Stephen Craigan, Shaun Hutchison, Tim Clancy, Martyn Corrigan, Paul Quinn, Tom Hately(drives me mental at times but generally one of our better full backs), David Partridge. Tough to pick, a few getting in to make up the numbers almost. Paterson edges Hammell for extra physical presence, Partridge the natural left sided option and his partnership with Craigan was ok that I remember. Hutchinson unlucky to miss out. Corrigan Craigan Partridge Paterson. Leaving out keepers, Ruddy or Randolph. It's Randolph! So final team is Randolph Corrigan Craigan Partridge Paterson Lasley Jennings Law Clarkson Porter McCormack Subs: Ruddy Hutchison Quinn Hughes O'Donnell McFadden McDonald edit:Put Hughes instead of Lasley by mistake at the end.

Harsh on Kerr, sure he's had a few poor games recently but even so.
-
No I vote Lasley most weeks. Mostly the pace you mention, if it was attached to genuine silky fitba skills he wouldn't be with us. However despite limitations he often does a not to bad job, although no game will go by with some examples of his limited ability being given an airing I genuinely think we'd be worse off without him.
-
Ha ha love the wee mistake there. Well Randolph is an absolute shoe in, Hutch would have a chance as would Law. I suspect Ojamma, Murphy, Lasley(though Mcghee wasn't overkeen on him) and Humphrey would have a sniff and certainly would be on the bench keeping others on their

Well McCalls team isn't a million miles away from how we played under McGhee. There are differences, our front 3 under McGhee were more clear cut forwards but we more or less play with a lead the line type physical forward Porter/Higdon who links up with wider support forwards Clarkson/McCormack now Murphy/Ojamma/Humphrey usually 2 from 3, more recently all 3 with someone a bit closer to Higdon. Either way I like Higdon, he does a good job and if our budget is cut we'll do well to replace him. If not like to think we'll get someone in who can do a job. If we are cutting costs so will nearly everyone else.
-
Really, I didn't have a great view of it but thought he was offside. Not watched highlights yet but I suspect this decision is tight and in category of annoying but acceptable human error. If he miles on then I will be suitably raging.
-
Aye well Higdon could no more do Clarkson, McCormacks, Porter, Jutkiewicz(sp) type roles either then. He will be a loss if he goes but like the 4 mentioned sure he can be replaced. Arguably Sutton, Porter and Jukeiwicz played a similar lead the line type role. Probably closest to Sutton in style but whilst I like Higdon I'd take the rest in a flash before him with exception of Sutton where bit more of a coin toss.
-
Basically he had a 6 game drought, in it he missed a few very decent chances including a pen while as a team we largely also endured a sticky patch. Therefore Higdon is officially an easy target again unless he hits another run like he had when he banged in 7 in 4 games when people will shut up for a few games waiting for their prejudice to be vindicated by another barren spell in the fullness of time.
-
He'd ran himself into the ground. Basically we miss Jennings and Clancy. Last season we were just a bit more streetwise and harder to beat. We could easily have won both last two games at home on chances created. It is very frustrating but we did a lot right tonight but we are vulnerable at the back and not putting chances away to well at the moment.
-
You were saying?
-
You trolling or what. I keep forgetting how we should have been pumping Panathanaikos and Levante home and away. In what was it again Champions League and Europa League qualifiers? Same management team that got us there finishing 3rd and on 62 points. Can't mind off hand if that is a record haul for us but it wasn't bad. Coming off the back of the previous season where we got to a cup final I can't think why we've stuck with these losers so long. You want to make some criticisms I'm sure there are a few, but comments like yours are moronic and you should get to fuck. MJC is negative as fuck but at least he makes a case to argue his position. Often ridiciulous, now and again sadly correct.
-
What you think we have the sqaud that we can make a lot of changes? Think what most people are looking for is a settled back four, generally involving Hately, Hutchison and Hammell. The fourth member is up for debate, one of our younger lads Kerr or Cummins who have been understandably up and down performance wise or Ramsden. Also getting Carswell or Ramsden in the midfield as a more combative presence to let Lasley play further forward like last season and push Law back a left sided position he can roam a bit from as he doesn't seem to be as influential in the centre just now. Therefore pushing Murphy or Ojamma up closer to Higdon up front. We needing changes but if subtle small ones can fix it we're humped because we don't have a raft of options.
-
I like to see us beat Rangers at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup this season to find out. Just because our record against OF been pish under McCall doesn't mean he wouldn't be delighted to beat them. Quite frankly course he would as it wouldn't harm his standing in the game even if for no other reason.
-
Youngsters like Cummins, Kerr, Hetherington who had games and have been slated for poor performances? Plenty younger players had opportunities this season, the fact as a club we can't afford to replace quality with quality is a problem. Jennings, Clancy and to an extent Craigan are clearly missed.

I'm pretty scunnered with our recent form, most notably the Sevco debacle. However if you or anyone else is as demotivated as you have felt in a long time I'd love to know what you consider a long time? Pre or post Malpas? We're having a sticky time of it, a period of poor form you can date back to letting slip a 2 goal lead at Pittodrie near the end of September. So about 5 weeks of indifferent/poor performances is what it takes to demotivate you to lifelong levels of apathy? How did you cope with the winless run under Gannon, nearly the whole Malpas era, the gradual decline of possibly best team in our lifetime under Alex McLiesh and a whole lot more other relegation battles and spells of dire football. I can only assume other factors come into play as it isn't that long a time since things were going pretty well. For what is worth I can think of decent reasons to be scunnered beyond our current form. Having a wide open league and seeing us going backwards when no teams is standing out means this might well be the worst timing in a long time to under perform. We got a load of players in final year of contract we'll find tough to replace but end of the day but if we snap out of it and win our next two games we'll be right back comfortably in the mix in the top half of the table.
