We're in freefall though mind!

Also liking cut of his jib. Well worth the risking of tying down to a longer term deal. Full of running, decent touch and movement and not afraid to shoot. Looks strong enough to mix it in the SPL. I'd risk trying for 2 year extension on what he has. Wouldn't break the budget for him but might be someone we see a return on.

Farcical stuff. Fannies that run our game are doing their damdest to run it into the ground!

A very decent point. Hard to read by text updates but seemed well deserved. Definately have to consider a start for Ojamma on tuesday but need to remember one good impact sub appearance(two if you count the game against part timers) doesn not the messiah make. Certainly encouraging though and lad seems confident enough so get him in there. Need to be patient if things don't come off for him right from the start come tuesday. Great to see Higdon score as well. He certainly isn't the problem and will get goals. Not seen how bad the seeming misses were yet but strikers score some and miss some. Hopefully todays goal a confidence booster for him as well.

Well if someone pays us enough to make it worth letting him go we'll have the budget to bring someone else in. Whether we can do as well again is another matter, but I sure we'd bring in someone the manager has faith can do a job in.

Team I'd like to see is Randolph Hately Hutchison Clancy Hammell Humphrey Jennings Lasley Law Higdon McHugh subs Craigan Carswell Murphy Ojamma Daley Page Carswell can come on for Jennings if he running out of puff after few weeks of inaction and we have attacking options at least in Murphy, Ojamma and Daley. McHugh playing as striker partner to Higdon, with Law and Humphrey licence to get up and support.

For a fan that only goes to home games it is currently pretty diabolical viewing wise. But you are still a fan of the team whether you are there or not so you need to accept up until quite recently it has been a good season, potentially great. Right now it looks more likely to head back towards mediocre land than anything special and given last couple of away games albeit tricky ones have been poor it makes the home form look even worse. What is the problem. Hell knows to be honest, I can think of a few things. Some already mentioned. Higdon seems to isolated, despite being fairly quick the likes of Humphrey, Daley and Murpy don't seem to be linking up with him very well. I think Higdon has been playing by and large pretty well, holding ball up, scoring a few, and putting himself about. I don't think Murphy or Humphrey have shown anything like their best. Recently the defence has been unsettled, and the worst part of that is Hately in midfield where he has been totally ineffective. Craigan having to be the left sided defender I think is making him look worse than he is. As it is though for me I'd be tempted to drop him for Clancy who prior to that red card had started to look decent at centre half. At full back I'm not convinced and believe we have a better option. Our midfield for all its flaws has worked pretty well when Las and Jennings have played together. Any other time not so good. Law seems to have lost his way as well, early season he was a bright spark adding a bit more pentration and creativity. With limited funds it is a complicated puzzle to fix. Personally I'd like to see McHugh get a wee run right alongside Higdon, although Ojamma, Daley or Murphy would do I think the latter could do with some time on the bench. Go to a simpler 4-4-2 and give Law some licence to roam and see how it goes.

Hearts going in front rubbing salt in the wound.

"Can't believe this. We'd hired him to be the architect for our house extension, and so have had a fair bit of contact with him recently. He seemed in perfect health."
bit poor taste on open forum, but is the extenstion shaped like a shoe box by any chance?

Thing is flung up a level are Lawless and Pollock all that quick or tricky? True they not had a great deal of chance to show it, but if they were a bit special you'd think it would be hard to miss. If they were showing even Faddyesque skill in training/bounce matches you have to think they'd at least be getting more sub run outs. Same if they had Humphreyesque pace then got to think if they had any other assests they'd be getting a look in. Likely reason is they are probably pretty ordinary. Hope to be proven wrong of course but someone pointed out about how many of our young players that move on end up leaving us with egg on our face for letting them go isn't that many.
-
There is clearly an increase in the number of younger players we loan out now. Something we maybe couldn't do when we had to sustain a reserve team? So it might not be as straightforward as all that. As it is McHugh I think is currently unfortunate in that we don't really play with a second out and out striker as I seen enough to suggest he might have some potential there. Can't see him leading the line or playing out wide though. So until we change I don't see much hope for his prospects barring injury or sales that dictate we need to change. Other young players like Hutchison and Saunders have progressed to first team. Others that I heard decent reports on Lawless and Pollock I seem to notice are fecking midgets. Not to say it going to stop them one day making it but in physical league like others you do tend to need to be a bit special to make it when you dwarfed by most players.
-
Murphy for doing what strikers are there to do I guess. Only a few scraped pass marks. My disappointment in the performance stems largely down to players attitude. Played like it was a training match. Fair enough job done, but were so poor in spells it wasn't much to watch. could do with reminding that they are there to entertain as well. If they all looked as interested as Humphrey and Ojamma when they came on we'd have romped it big time!
-
Fair enough but most of those players I wouldn't count. Most of them are so fringe that half of them I'd expect to leave without anyone really noticing. They listed as first team but again the majority are just to old for the U19 that are in career limbo at this point. Not really good enough for first team football but I assume are kept on as they are cheap and club hopes some can still progress. But likely most will be let go.
-
Indeed if we move 15 players out for one thing that will included everyone in the first team by sound of it. Fair enough if we were just above Dunfermline and struggling week in week out, unrealstic still but could understand the desire at least.
-
It entirely down to guidelines you choose to put in place. Pretty sure in Germany at grounds like Dortmund on days when their safe standing is for standing in they have an increased capacity.
-
Yeah definately 9 out of 10. If we'd won the cup 11 out of 10! Guy is doing a tremendous job and hoping he can keep it up to end of season, get us 3rd and a european tour again. If he does that will add another half point to that 9. Got to assume if he does that then we might be looking for a new manager but it the price of success at our level.
-
I not an engineer but the basic idea of most safe standing areas is seats with a barrier at suitable height above so when seated your view isn't obscured and it a safety barrier when used for standing. I wouldn't have thought modifying our existing seats would be impossible. Maybe some seats might need to be taken out or moved to accomodate such barriers and complicate it somewhat. But we not talking the sort of budget that should frighten us off I wouldn't think.
-
Sticking some barriers above existing seats in one stand surely not going to cost extortionate amount.
-
Clearly I meant shouldn't as the context of the rest of the post would make clear.
-
We should be all over this. The full East stand should be converted to safe standing. Anyone in there currently who wishes to sit can relocate to the POD if they like that viewing angle or the DC. That said I think we should consider a price restructure. Sure the view from most of the POD is arguably the best but it not worth what it costs just now and East Stand patron who want to continue to sit should be penalised by having to pay more. I'd have any standard seat be it in the POD, DC or East made the same. A no frills seat in any of these areas as it is isn't notably better or worse than any of the others and the price should reflect that. If it means we stick a quid or two on the East Stand price to make up taking a couple of the Main then so be it. Worth it if we getting a safe standing area.
-
If we keep winning he can keep on predicting losses. Just try and keep them short though please.
-
To be totally fair to Humphrey he did improve, but he has either went backwards again or been sussed out. Either way a spell out wouldn't hurt and hopefully a few decent performances of the bench against some tiring defences can lift his confidence. Hughes performance last night is a worry if Lasley is out. Anonymous and looked like he was well off the pace by a good way. Don't want to be to hard on a guy who was without a club for months and rotting in reserves for previous year of his contract but if he is going to get back to what he capable of it is going to take a while on last nights albeit limited evidence.
-
In short looks ganting! Maybe better lit up at night but aye against backdrop of a stand in need of a lick of paint looks shabby.
-
A vote for Nijholt is downright moronic. We all have opinions but as has been made quite clear he wasn't a left back so certainly not our best EVER! I can only assume it it is people with a man love greater than even Keith Lasley generates. That said stick Lasley in this poll and I reckon he might pick up some votes as well.
-
Wark, never saw him but it a legend. Hammell is good but for me unfulfilled potential, in middle of a good period just now and quite happy to have him but ultimately just solid reliable and not a stand out barring early promise and eventual longevity. Nijholt, did he ever play a game at left back? Superb on other side and contender for that award. McMillan, was not a great left back. Decent player in search of a natural position but was barley ahead of ian ross in fullback stakes. Boyd, real contender and phenominal alongside Cooper. For me the winner is McKinnon, he was like Boyd and Cooper rolled into one at times. Absolutely by a distance best in my time.
