But really you are on a hiding to nothing being the Well manager as its inevitable with financial constraints, support numbers and location as close to Glasgow, that eventually they run out of ideas , having to sell the best players doesn't help and results drop off .Then they leave . Terry Butcher installed great team spirit then went off to the sun . Tommy McLean was astute but not very personable. Craig Brown was a very good manager also proving experience really does count. I liked him , he left for a better job , the way he did it was poor tho.
Not too many Well managers do leave to a better job. They just sort of fade away and have to leave. I would think it will be about a three to four year life span for a manager that does relatively well .
