  1. Unbelievable that it seems to have happened again so soon after the last carry-on

    Herts Away

Ruddy was most definitely the major one to blame for the goal, however, he has saved us on numerous occassions. Also, who was supposed to be tracking Stewart's run? Don't think the blame lies solely with Craggs, in fact, he was probably least to blame when compared to Ruddy and whoever was supposed to be marking Stewart. Still, very disappointed to get nothing from the game, especially considering how poor Hearts are. I think that's the worst Hearts team I've seen in 25 years.

    New Manager

George Burley would be a disaster, cannae understand a word he says! I'd take Jimmy Calderwood in a minute. We need to get someone in very quick who knows the squad and can identify areas we need strengthened. For that reason, I wouldn't be too adverse to Craggs getting it.
  4. If someone was to offer me 11th position at the end of the season right now, I'd definitely take it. We have no real dig in the team, the lack of fitness in some of our players is ridiculous and Gannon's change in tactics at the start of the 2nd half were baffling. We really need to get a result soon else our downfall will be similar to Hull's last season! Anyway, no better way to get ourselves out of this than to stuff the Hearts at Tynecastle.
  5. I'd take him in a minute, very good player. Plenty of energy and drive from either midfield or playing just off the front plus has the quality to score goals. May as well replace one plastic paddy with another.
  6. Let's hope this doesn't hammer confidence. Time to get Craigan back as our defending has been shocking in recent weeks and only our keeper has pulled us out of a hole.
  7. Hope the fog lifts a bit. Surely they'll have to consider the view of the scum fans in the top tier of the South Stand though, so may be a chance the game is off?
  8. Personally, I'd just like Gannon to explain exactly what he means by a "reporting structure" when it comes to refs. Presumably they have this in place in England, or if not, he should be explaining how it would work. He should also be stressing the point that he is trying to suggest ways/ideas to the SFA/SPL (whoever runs the refs and decides who should officiate in the SPL!) which will enable the refs to improve across the board, not just in the SPL. In saying that, I admire him for speaking out against Hugh Dallas who seems to be completely incompetent in his role as refs development officer and the refs who have been producing ridiculous performances in a number of games this season.
  9. Someone is a lying b*stard and if it is Dallas, then surely his position would be untenable. Be interested to hear the response from Dallas.
  10. Spot on Steve, completely agree 100%. Also, whilst this blame culture seems rife, what about Reynolds (I think it was him) half-hearted attempt at blocking Webster's shot for the first goal? The point is that there isn't just one player at fault for goals conceded......unless yer Stevie Woods of course!!! Mistakes happen in football and players don't always do what they should, to state the obvious. If there were no mistakes, it would be a shit game!!!
  11. Watched the highlights of the game again last night and here's my take on the "3" sending off debates: 1. Buaben - The ref gave a foul against Buaben which clearly wasn't a foul and due to this decision Buaben reacted. For the reaction, I think the ref was probably correct to book him, however, the ref made an erse of the first decision. 2nd booking was very soft indeed. OK, Buaben clipped O'Brien's heels, however, O'Brien impersonated Eduardo McGeady and the ref should have used a bit of common sense here. So, all in, I don't think Buaben deserved to be sent off. 2. Myrie Williams - Well, unfortunately they didn't show on the highlights his clear dive to win a penalty at the end of the first half which should have resulted in a 2nd booking. Then to confound matters he booked Jim "Tom Daley" O'Brien for taking a dive 40 yards out from goal in the 2nd half. Anyway, back onto Myrie Williams. Clearly, he could have no complaints about his 1st booking, but how he got away with his challenge on Coke was beyond me. The ref had a perfect view of the incident and for him not to show a 2nd yellow was ridiculous given the foul was so blatant. So, he should have been sent for an early bath as well. 3. Swanson - At the game, I thought it was a wreckless and malicious challenge and immediately thought he would be shown a red. Having viewed it on the highlights again, I actually agree with the ref on this one. Swanson flew in and if Lasley's legs (or leg) had been planted, he was facing a very long term injury. So, being honest, I think the ref called this challenge correct. So, on the big decisions, I reckon Muir got 1 correct. With Buaben and Myrie Williams, he made several mistakes in eventually sending of Buaben and not sending off Myrie Williams.
  12. I think Yass is a decent enough player as well. Fair enough he sometimes gets caught out of position, however, he does have a great engine and generally gets back on most occassions. As for his crossing, then if he could put in a decent cross he wouldn't be with us. Put it this way, I'd rather have Yass than Stephen "Gordon Nightmare" Whittaker! I'd love to know who people would like to see play at right back in place of him? Who could we afford to bring in that would do a better job?

I'm sure Aluko is injured and won't be playing on Saturday which is a bonus. Just need to avoid giving away free kicks around the box because of Mulgrew's ability from set-pieces.

    Jim O'brien

You never know, Jim's maybe giving up football to concentrate on his music career . Just heard about this.... 'Club Couture' 09 - The Celtic Charity Fund Fashion Show Want to see members of the first team squad, Wives & Girlfriends, River City cast members and special guests take to the catwalk all in the name of charity? Then book your seats now before they're all snapped up! The fashion show will be the focal point of an evening in the Kerrydale Suite which will also include a 3 course meal, auction, raffle and live music from Scotland's latest singing sensation, Motherwell FC’s Jim O'Brien. The event is sponsored by Portfolio, a MEVCO Brand and all clothing and accessories will be provided by House of Fraser. The Diamond Studio will supply sparkling jewellery for the finale. The main beneficiary charities will be Breast Cancer Care Scotland and The John Hartson Foundation @ Checkemlads.com
  15. Should have been a 4-4-2 after Saturday rather than trying to accommodate 4 centre-halves. St Mirren were hungrier and had that bit of quality in the final 3rd that we were lacking. Glad Gannon changed it at half-time however unfortunately Humphrey and McHugh were poor also. How many times do Moutaouakil and Humphrey hit the bye-line then sclaff the ball out the park?! Also, that was the first time for me that Gannon got his substitution wrong by taking off O'Brien. This is the guy that should be on for the full 90 mins as he is the most creative in our team. Being taken off at 2-0 down, having been going past (the booked) Jack Ross at will seemed crazy to me. Surely O'Brien should stay on and get the ball to him? In saying that, Ross should have seen his 2nd booking 5 mins prior to being substituted but I don't think that would have made any difference to the final outcome. Now is the time for Gannon to earn his crust, by picking the players up for Saturday against Hearts and getting a result!
  16. I think St Mirren should be more concerned that they blew a 3-1 lead after the penalty than moaning about whether it was a penalty or not. Looking forward to the game tomorrow night and hopefully, Saturday's match gives us a psychological advantage.
  17. Was the penalty maybe given for the handball immediately prior to Jim O'Brien's impersonation of Tom Daley?

    Hibernian

Yassin was good going forward especially when O'Brien went off and Riordan moved up front. However, he was definitely at fault for the first goal by letting the ball drop over his head for Riordan to knock it back to Nish therefore I went for Hammell who was solid throughout.

    Chris Humphrey

Deserves to start next week. Made a decent impression in his 15 mins on the park yesterday.

  21. Glad I was able to sit in the Cooper today against the scum. Even if we didn't fill it, it's hardly as though any Rangers fan who wanted to attend couldn't, as they didn't sell out their allocation. Oh aye, and after the comments and songs I heard whilst walking up to Fir Park today about Phil O'Donnell from a group of so-called Rangers supporters, I'd fuck them out the Phil O'Donnell Stand the next time they come to Fir Park and just give them the South Stand. Pure and utter scum!
  22. It'll be interesting to see if Reynolds signs a new deal in order to get a fee for Motherwell or whether he'll just let his current contract expire then move on for hee-haw.
