  1. Can I drop him back in it for his performance against St. Mirren in the last home game of the season, when we were 2 up and lost 3-2 with Meldrum flapping 2 of them in.
  2. I'd say its a bit harsh having Fraser in there as well. I'm not much of a fan of his either but Colin Meldrum or Stevie Woods should be well ahead of him in any of these teams.
  3. I think he'd have been off to Fulham had the Chris Smalling move to Man U gone through this month. As it's not happening until the summer, I expect they'll make their move then, while keeping an eye on him and being happy that he'd still be playing every week.

It was well in, I could tell from here.

    Aberdeen

Gutted I couldn't make it up today. Definitely didn't see that scoreline coming though. Thought it had a draw written all over it today. Good to the some of the guys on their way back from the game while I was still in work.
  6. Hopefully that would allow us a bit more time to do some business. Although the transfer window down south shuts at 5pm and we usually just follow suit.
  7. McLeish came straight in as player/manager after McLean, wasn't a Mclean signing. Doesn't change the fact he was a walking fucking disaster. As fir those prmoted from within, Davies done OK but he had Boyle's money behind him at the time, and Malpas was shocking. Promoting from within is OK if you're already a successful team (or with no danger of being relegated), with a bit of money to spend. At a club like ours with no money and such a young team, it's asking for trouble
  8. We really need to get Las and Hammell signed up on new deals asap.
  9. I think Brown said something in his interview on Saturday that the covers had been left on for weeks and that kills the grass. Considering Saturday was our first home game in almost a month that is fucking ridiculous. All points towards shite groundsmen, no matter how much effort was put in during the summer.
  10. Fulham were having him watched today as well, seemingly.
  11. Utter dross from us last night. Starting with 1 upfront against an average Division 1 team is a bit of a joke, we should be taking the game to them not trying to contain them and sneak a goal. Just about every player was terrible, other than Murphy who did well when he came on and Lukas, despite being injured for just about the full game. Sutton laughing at the chant for his brother was brilliant and the bus was a good laugh, although it was a looooooonnngggg journey home. Tired doesn't do justice to how fucked I'm feeling the now. Mon the beetroot.
  12. Cheers man. Won't get the chance to get to the ticket office until Monday and I'd doubt they'll still be selling tickets that late on.
  13. It was mentioned before the original fixture, does anyone know if there will still be a pay at the gate turnstile for Monday night. Is it still £15 paying on the night or is it cheaper to buy the ticket beforehand?
  14. Haven't heard but I'd hope not. Although if he was going to recall them I reckon he would have done it by now. It's not like the injuries Everton are suffering from have happened recently, they have been struggling with it all season. Did they not have something like 12 players ruled out for their cup game against Carlisle? I sure he would have taken them back for that rather than extending the loans until February before it.
  15. Under 23's? Thats our first team...including the 'veterens'. I think any re-vamp to the league cup should look at starting up a new version of the Texaco Cup as Frazzle said. Would make it far more interesting and should pull in higher attendances. I reckon your right that the season should start a bit earlier. Back inot July maybe like a few years back that would allow us to have some sort of break for 2,3 or 4 weeks, but then thats you venturing into the whole league set-up again rather than just the cup.
  16. The last thing we need is another guarenteed round of fixtures against the same old SPL teams. We play them too often just now as it is.
  17. There was a bit in the paper with James Grady the other day saying that that's the situation Morton and Celtic have left themselves in as they have decided to play on Tuesday. Don't see it happening myself though.

    Jim Jefferies

I would hate to see Jeffries here, but I really don't think we have to worry about him. With his last 2 appointments Boyle has shown he has been looking for a younger manager, with a good reputation, who wants to develop a philosophy of good attacking, passing football at the club. He seems to be looking for them to also place an emphasis towards giving the youth players their chance in the first team a bit earlier than other teams/managers might do. For me Jeffries doesn't suit either of these categories, and with just about all of his old Hearts team retired he's running out of options for signings to make.
  19. What's the dates for the 5th round? If the tie hasn't been played by then, that's the only chance you've got of this being rescheduled for a weekend. Doubt it'll drag on that long though.
  20. If he goes, then hopefully Slane will be as well.
  21. Unless he out of contract at St Mirren after this season he'll not be at Killie either. They don't have the money to pay the compo required. They've sacked the club doctor and are sending injured players to their own GP's FFS. Although I agree Jeffries wont be there much longer either.

    Football Wit

A few I remember from Strachan when he was still at Southampton. First one Ithink was when he appeared on MOTD. Gary Linekar "James Beattie has been in great form all season for you Gordon. Is it about time he was caleld up to the England team?" Strachan "I couldn't care less, I'm Scottish. Another was when a reporter mentioned Beatie, again. Reporter "Another cracking performance from James Beattie again today, and another goal. He's really bang on form at the moment. Strachan "I've said before how important Beattie has been for us and I've nothing more to add to it. However, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Mr and Mrs Beattie for that wonderful thing they did on that night 26 years ago"
  23. The 3 games is just the minimum they will be here. John Boyle is away to Australia for 2 or 3 weeks and the 3 games will have been played before he gets back. Then I'd imagine they will get another few games at least while the board goes through the whole process, though like a few have said already I'd be surprised if they weren't given until the end of the season. That would give the board a load more time, probably more options and would let Brown and Knox show that they should be considered.
  24. I saw a mention of the Ruddy deal today, however it was in the Daily Record and it was by Hugh Keevins so take from it what you will. Basically it said that relations between 'Well and Everton had been very good since the Faddy deal. Boyle has been working on the Ruddy deal for a while and, despite what has since happened, was still coming along well.
