I think having a go at the girls in the ticket office about this is completely OTT. It's doubt it would have been their decision to have the Christmas lunch at that time. The choice was probably made to have it during office hours, the same as many offices, because then they could get everyone together rather than having it out of hours and noone going because it's bad enough having to see half the people you work with in work never mind in your own time.
It's been acknowledged that a notice should have been posted on the official site, but was forgotten about and an apology has been made for that. I can understand Leeanne's reaction as well though. She's more than entitled to defend her staff, and the girls in that ticket office have had more than there fair share of shit to put up with over the last year and a bit. If Nijholt had had his little rant in the ticket office to the girls faces I'm sure he would have been told where to go and what they thought of it so no differnce from it being on here.
And all this pish about the customer's always right and someone saying you have to show your customers respct is bullshit. In my experience of dealing with the public a fairly hefty percentage of them are idiots or arseholes, or both, so if your not going to give people respect you're not going to get it back.
EDIT: Should point out I'm not trying to say Nijholt is an idiot or an arsehole.

it's not a learning experience it's the spl. if we're going to become a kindergarten club then maybe the season ticket prices should come down. everyone wants to see a team play good football and play fair but i think we're being a bit too extreme. what's good about watching our the back 4 passing it about for a minute amongst themselves until they put themselves under pressure or watching our players stand off and let opponents attack at will while the oppostion are going in full blooded for the ball?
if solid, pragamatic football was good enough for faddy, pearson, clarky, mcdonald and quinn to get big moves and very rich i can't see it harming any of our current batch.
We all knew the state of the team in pre-season when we bought our season tickets.
How can this not be a learning experience for all the young players? Of course it is. They have to learn to get used to playing the way the new boss wants them, and get used to playing against the calibre of player they will be up against and in the environment rather than other young guys and reserve players who don't give a shit infront of 2 guys and a dug up at Shotts every other week.
If you want to watch solid, pragmatic, knock the ball over the top for the stirkers to chase football, then go to Inverness to see Butcher's team do it again or head up the King George Park on a Saturday afternoon and watch teams both try it against each other.
After a while Jim will get his ideas across and after getting enough games under their belt and enough games playing in this system I'm certain that it will all click into place for these young guys, and it will only get better from there.
Even under Butcher's 'solid, pragmatic' approach with a young team we went through long spells without a win then long spells undefeated. It's bound to happen with a team filled with as many young guys as our, no matter what type of football you are trying to play.

And I'd like to see o'brien! Who cares about bust ups behind the scenes. O'brien needs to prove himself worthy of a move and there's no-one else like him in our team!
No he doesn't. He knows that, if nothing else, McGhee is waiting to take him to Aberdeen.

You are missing the point he is complaing about refs across the board. Not just what goes in our favour.
I agree, some of Gannons decisions have been quite strange, but the way I look at it is this.
Gannon does not want our team to close down and tackle, he wants us to play a passing game that is patient and builds from the back. He is teaching young players to play the game properly and if that means we don't win much then 'thats life'. Its a learning experience
You need time to create a decent team and also time to make them do what you want.
Some of the criticsm on here baffles me sometimes. This is a fresh start for a very very young team and it might take one season, it might take two, but I hope by the end of it we are watching really good football at Fir Park, win lose or draw.
We can maon all we want about results and team selection, but the fact of the matter is we are watching a team learning a new skill - passing! Not many teams in the SPL do that very well.

i remember mcdonald going in the huff when we turned down a bid from rangers in the january so he hadny agreed to sign for celtic at that point.wasnt martin oneill leaving celtic in the summer so id be surprised if mcdonald had agreed anything with celtic before strachan took over.thats what i thought had happened mate i could be wrong though
Yeah that's right, it wasn't long after Rangers approach. O'Neill had already left though, that would have been half way through Strachan's 1st season, IIRC. I think it was round about March they signed him. We had still to play Celtic before the split that season and Malpas wouldn't play him in the game because he had already signed with them.
They did the same thing with Scott Brown after the split when they had still to play Hibs after the split, but Hibs let Brown play and he scored the winner.

McDonald had signed for Celtic before the end of the season though.
I'm sure it was a good few games before the split that the deal was done.

Remember Scott McDonald played on in the team after signing a pre-contract with Celtic and even although lots of fans wanted him out the side he scored the goals that basically kept us up that season.

If O'Brien was still playing at the level he was earlier in the season then put him in the team. But he's been rotten recently, and it's coincided with all the Aberdeen talk,which would suggest he would rather be there.
Shades of Pearo when all the Celtic talk picked up round about the same time in the season and he hardly started another game after that either.

He had a great start to the season but he's not been the same since Mutley talked about him in the press. And to be honest if talk aboot moving to Aberdeen is going to his head then there is clearly something wrong.

What the fuck is it with everyone still wanting Foran back?
He's an average player who did well for us, mainly because he can take a penalty and head the ball. But he struggled to play any more than about 20 minutes before blowing out his arse and needing subbed.
Lovell is even worse than Foran and it's debatable whether he's good enough for the SPL or not. Would never have him near Fir Park.

Well it was a crucial match I suspect it was fuller than average, our core support stays pretty much the same most of the time.
Yeah, I remember the match was delayed by 15 minutes to let everyone get in.

Its not that we can't play against 10 men, we did create a few chances to kill the game off when they were down to ten, we just didnt take them.Its frustrating but it won't be long til it all falls into place.
So against Hearts, Hamilton, Abderdeen and United today we have played well against the 10 men?
No chance.
Utter garbage again today. Just told my nephew he can have my season ticket for the rest of the season, he can go and watch that pish every week.Thats taking it a bit too far.

Can't understand why he was subbed for O'Brien.
Saunders did well, but faded badly at the end. Don't know if he was injured or just knackered but should have been subbed for the last 10. Almost gifted them a goal a few minutes before they equalised.

since the st johnstone game gannon has been guilty of thinking he can effect the outcome of a game from the sideline. we turned things round in perth but gannon in the papers creditied it to the fact craigan and sutton were subbed off when it was clearly because of the change to 4-5-1 to 4-4-2.
Who made the change from 451 to 442 in Perth then?
has anyone ever seen a manger so keen to make personnel or tactical changes before the second half starts? i watch a lot of football and i can't think of any other manager who is similar.Mourinho is never scared to make early changes and has learned to make it work for him. Not comparing Gannon to him, just giving a name.
Plus people have been moaning for years the Butcher or Malpas or McGhee or McLeish or Davies always seemed reluctant to make changes and always left it until there was 10 or 20 minutes left before making changes. Now theres a guy there willing to take the chance, and now people are moaning about what they've been looking for for years.

Absolutely no need to make the O'Brien for Forbes change at half time. After that su and change of formation we totally lost our way. O'Brien contributed fuck all when he came on.
When McHugh was brought on Sutton should have been the striker, if any, taken off. Lukas was looking the far more dangerous of the 2.
Even when they were down to 10 we still played with no ugency at all. I'm all for playing possession football but to continue playing at walking pace for the majority of the 2nd half will get you nowhere.

Heard a few reports tonight that Darren Ferguson has been sacked at Peterborough. If that turns out to be true I think he might well jump to the top of Brighton's list.
