  1. No mention of George Newell, was he not only on a 1 year deal.. or did I miss something?
  2. I have just been to am 80th Birthday party, Twist and Shout and Amirollo played the trophy is ours....
  3. After Celtic won their semi-final, I found myself thinking that I would've preferred the other mob but I also had a thought running through my head at the time.... we're due a result against them... That thought has been getting stronger this week and I have no doubt it's because of the positivity coming out of the club, the manager, the players all saying we can win this, so different from normal games against them. The buzz the Banter Thiefs and Up the Well have started. Not living in Motherwell but seeing the pictures of the shops with C&A, Celtic fans getting annoyed because NLC have put up good luck banners in Motherwell. The result last week against Accies has also lifted that. On top of that though my lad won two tickets from William Hill, so he's taking a pal that ddn't know if they'd get. Left me a spare ticket but the wife has said she is coming along because she's going to regret it if she doesn't, she believes something special is about to happen. Even most of the comments on here have been positive... So yea, we're due a result but we need the players to turn up tomorrow and show they believe they can win it from the get go. We also need us the fans to be on their side and pushing them on... For once, the way the players and fans interact, I believe we can and will do this. So come on ye WELLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
  4. Obviously not enough to earn a new deal at St Mirren, him and Sutton been told they can leave.
  5. Thought I'd wait until it had sunk in that not only did we win but we smashed the sheep shaggers 3-0. The team as a whole were brilliant, Main is a machine, Grimmy still running and chasing the ball when it went back to Lewis at 3-0 up, epitomised not only his attitude and work rate but the whole team. Campbell put in a great shift as well. Looking forward to the 19th May, would probably prefer Newco but we have the capability to compete against the other half and we must be due a win after our appearances this season.
  6. Curtis gets my vote but was close, as all players done well today. Grimmy and Campbell worked really hard.
  7. The Herald is listing all the Premiership players out of contract at the end of the season. Free at the end of the season Ours are: Andy Rose - Have a feeling he'll be here next season Liam Grimshaw - Probably gone Ryan Bowman - Would like to see him here next season Deimantas Petravicius - Gone? Charles Dunne - Would think he is here, was there not mention of an extension on games played? Russell Griffiths - I would think he's away Ellis Plummer - Ditto, too injury prone Shea Gordon - No idea, seemed to be around the first team then disappeared, has this been due to injuries? George Newell - Jury out? Robinson seems happy to have him on the bench when fit. Luke Watt - No idea. Loan deals ending: Stephen Hendrie (Southend), I imagine will be returned, Nadir Ciftci (Celtic) Same as Hendrie, unless released on a free and willing to take a wage cut, Tom Aldred (Bury) would love to see if we could do something to keep him.
  8. It's the ones calling Radio Clyde that were suggesting that the card was for the initial challenge.... yet it was Brown that slid in initially.. so two punishable incidents and Brown walks away without a yellow card..
  9. Commonsense may have prevailed but why has the compliance officer had a look at Brown for the tackle and the hands up? Tongue in cheek for the above... we all know Broony is above the law. Pleased for Kipre though.
  10. Today was a diabolical performance and once again the ref lets Accies waste as much time as they want. Then you have got the 4th official getting involved at the throw-ins. Ok Kipre may have been taking an extra yeard or two but all teams do it, even Accies and I didn;t see them getting pulled up. I honestly can't give pass marks to that team today but that is down to Robinson changing a system that has been working. There was no Imrie or Crawford there today so why pamper to a weakened accies. A lot more desire and commitment is needed over the coming weeks. What irritates me most is about today was our inability to feed our strikers decent balls. You just have to look at the chance Cadden let go a begging after getting into a decent position then played a crap ball for Main.

    Stevie Woods

Don't think he'd have been at Celtic as long if there was a crap coach.
  12. Saw yesterday he is training with Aberdeen at the minute. Apparently McInnes was keen on him before, whether he thinks he can turn the lads career around I don't know but definitely not one for us.
  13. Is it not time we grew a pair of Bhaji's and just sign the lad before the puns get any worse.
  14. Steve Caulker signs for Dundee.. may strengthen their back line for the cup game. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42992304
  15. Due to new work commitments looks like Mixlr will be my way of keeping in touch.Already fed up with ooh's and aah's...
  16. Listening on Mixlr, seeing as I am at work. Enjoying hear Crags give his thoughts. Hopefully we'll get a nice wee win tonight.......
  17. McCall sacked... Scotland job next??? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42944703 Stuart McCall: Bradford City sack manager after six straight defeats McCall had two spells with Bradford as a player and also previously managed them between May 2007 and February 2010 Bradford City have sacked manager Stuart McCall after a run of six successive defeats in all competitions. The 53-year-old's departure brings to an end his second spell in charge of the Bantams, with whom he also started his career as a player. McCall took over at the Coral Windows Stadium in June 2016 and led Bradford to the League One play-off final last season, a game they lost to Millwall. Bradford are sixth in the table despite a run of five straight league defeats. However, that run of form has seen them slip 13 points behind the automatic promotion places, while they also lost 2-0 at League Two side Yeovil in the FA Cup. McCall's last game in charge was Saturday's 2-1 defeat at relegation-threatened Oldham, while the Bantams' previous home game saw them thrashed 4-0 by struggling AFC Wimbledon. In a statement, the club said the decision to terminate McCall's contract had "not been taken lightly". "Unfortunately, we have now suffered six straight defeats and the last two fixtures in particular have not brought about the positive change in performances or results that we all hoped for," the statement said. "We believe that our current squad is capable of performing to a much higher standard than we have seen recently. We must all accept responsibility for the recent poor run of form, including our players who now have the opportunity to put it right. "As such, we believe that a change is in the best interests of the club at this time in order to give us the best chance of finishing the season strongly." McCall spent 10 years with Bradford as a player over two separate spells before becoming manager for the first time in May 2007.
  18. On that subject.... I noticed yesterday that rather than leave Thistle's players in an offisde position, our defenders started backing up when thistle player started his run up to take te free-kick, this happened almost every time, yet Thistle were happy to leave us in an offiside position. I personally think we should leave opposition in an offside position and make them make the decision to come back in line.
  19. Tanner needs dropped from the starting 11. Both of the last games I have seen I'd have had him off early. He got away with the Hamilton game because he scored.. prior to that his decisions were suspect. Either too slow to pass or he dilly dallied that long and overthought he missed the chance to get the ball away. Then he scored the penalty and he started playing with a bit of confidence. Yesterday, he was back at the rush or dilly dally again and we lost the ball. He is starting to remind me of Skippy but without the end product, if things are going his way, he's fine but as soon as it's not he's dropping the head. At one point yesterday he dilly dallied about putting a ball into the box or passing to Hendrie who was free of a marker, by the time he decided what to Partick were back in numbers and any chance was lost. d As for Hendrie, defensively he done okay yesterday, including taking a knock to the head while clearing another Partick chance, going forward I felt he could have been used a bit more as an outlet, when he was he got a decent ball in that caused problems but too many times the play was going down our right hand side and we were getting bogged down. That should have been the signal to start using more of Hendrie and encouraging him to get forward to see what he could do. It was good to say Ciftci score and Main is looking threatening, however that's twice now when one on one he has went for a lob and not scored from them... I hope he has other options in his locker for those situations. Still, impressed with the start he has made. I am itching to see Hartley line up alongside Aldred as I think we'll have a decent defensive partnership there and Kipre can only benefit from it. Where it leaves Dunne will depend on what more we can do with the formation. If we stick with a back 3 then Robinson will want Tait or Frear there if we can't Hendrie playing more advanced. (I know as a kid he used to play wing\striker role and he knew how to put a decent ball into the box, if he still has it, we need to encourage him to play more like the other two mentioned.) Overall not a great game but the ref didn't help and Partick took advantage every time he blew to waste time.
  20. He played with my oldest when they were about 11\12 and was looked at by a Motherwell scout back then. Shame he ended up the wrong side of the motorway. Hopefully he's now seen the light.
  21. Great result in the end yesterday. Was delighted when the goal was given, immediately thought we got one of our previously disallowed goals back. Feel cheated after seeing the pics on here showing it was a goal. Thanks GazzyB for the twitch link ..... feel though I shouldn't have watched it as FHW scored as I brought it up.
  22. I see McCall is having a hard time at Bradford the now. Vote of confidence during the week, a 4-0 defeat today and sent off, George Long in goal for AFC Wimbledon. Nicky Law in Bradfords team as well.
  23. He was, signed June 2016, left this time last year.
  24. Dean Brill in goals for Leyton Orient in their 3-2 defeat to Aldershot.
  25. Zak Jules joins Port Vale on loan from Shrewsbury.
