  1. Watching the highlights and reading the twitter feed, some really encouraging football played tonight on what appears to have been a cracker of a contest. Young ones look more comfortable with passing and movement that the first team. Fair play to JJ for getting this team going.
  2. Update appreciated. What guarantees would be in place for a private investor that provides the society with a soft loan?
  3. I've no insight on how a weekly training schedule should shapeup but I was also surprised by McCalls assertions, particularly on the back of such a poor run. Amazed that the squad didn't review the Accies performance until Thursday.
  4. On the whole, I like Manus but he's not quite the leader I envisaged. Pure speculation on my part but I don't think McManus would have been so quick to sign a new contract if he thought there would have been a lack of quality signed during the summer. The departure of Faddy may have caught him by surprise too, like Hammell.
  5. Agree entirely. I gather November will be the pivotal month in determining whether or not the club has a mid-long term vision. In the short term, I do hope the wheels are in notion to address the much needed summer clearance in line with the new vision.
  6. Just watching the highlights, that was a helluva strike by Ainsworth surpassing his debut goal at Tannadice. Going by McCalls post match comments some of our most talented players aren't pulling their weight and will be sacrificed for less talented grafters. Good to see flashes of Ojamaa returning to form. On paper Ojamaa, Ainsworth and Erwin should be able to rip teams apart in this league.
  7. Lawson broke down yet again after chasing shadows for 45 mins last week. It's just not happening for him. We've lacked a playmaker and ball winner since Law and Jennings respectively. They'll not be replaced until contracts are up in the summer.
  8. I think if McCall doesn't get a result out if Dundee, Aberdeen and St Johnstone then his position would be virtually untenable. However, I worry about McCall going just now. Unless there is something going on in the background regarding fresh investment and/or takeover I think we'll be struggling for candidates.
  9. Think the failing of the last 2 summers has been signing key players that don't peak in the same system. Vigurs is more of a 451 or 433 (with mobile fullbacks) man while Sutton is 442 all day long.
  10. Vigurs was brought in to play on the left after Higginbotham was ditched. Fed up with the argument over Vigurs having excellent technical ability. In his 15 months at the club he has demonstrated that for all the ability he has, he can't produce on a regular basis. In his defence McCall has failed to build a team around the strengths of our playmaker but he hasn't done enough to prove himself and there have been some effortless performances along the way.
  11. Time for Derek Weir to step up to the plate and tells us was what is going on at present and detailing the Boards' vision for the club. I was never fond of Dempster but in her favour she engaged with the fans and she kicked balls that needed kicking. From the outside there seems to be a distinct lack of responsibility and accountability throughout the club. Friendly farce and Season Ticket malaise being two examples of this.
  12. Writing his been on the wall for a while but time and time again, we're failing to react to big disappointments now. Knowing the inconsistency and weaknesses of Ainsworth, I really don't know why we kept him if we weren't planning to play him regularly. The signing of Josh Law is one of the most blinded we've made since John Davies.
  13. This would be close to my selection, possibly switching Leitch with Carswell.
  14. And who's funding Ojamaa? We could have had him if McCall wanted him. But no we had 5 strikers; yet we finish in Iceland with Lasley playing off Sutton and throw away a significant amount of income.
  15. It's just no right is it.
  16. Good luck to him. Hope he does the business.
  17. I'm not sure if the deal would have materialised if it wasn't for Dempsters persistence.
  18. Faddy was never a McCall signing was he?
  19. We'll find out soon enough hoe fit Faddy is. Tommy Wright says he's looked good in training and hoping to discuss short term deal tomorrow. He inferred that he wouldn't be signing him if he wasn't up to speed.
  20. Whatever changes are afoot, we need to try and facilitate longer term thinking in terms of contract extensions and player recruitment backed by modest but secure financial planning. In recent seasons, we've had to wait until a player is in the last few weeks of their contract before we know our budget for the next season and offer a deal. And if we're waiting until May to resign established players like Lasley and Hammell, what chance have we got of snapping up young prospects ahead of competing clubs.
  21. No idea if there is any merit in the MvCall rumours, he's always came across as fully committed to me. However, at the time of his driving ban it was mentioned that he has his ill father to look after down South.
  22. Quite happy to cut some slack, particularly when it looks like McCall and Flow have been hung out to dry. However, the apparent lack of leadership at the club is cause for unease and needs addressed.
