  1. No knowledge of the Estonian outfit but based on pedigree, you'd expect the Lech Poznan to overturn the deficit. We'd then have a slim chance of progressing with a fit and competent squad. PSV would have been amazing.
  2. Does Kerr have a turn of pace? He looked goosed towards the end of last season?
  3. No proper friendlies set up for the next couple of weekends yet?
  4. I don't quite get the criticism of Hammell. He was left 2 on 1 all night long. If Dom Thomas can't get a game due to his inexperience in tracking back then what's the script with Vigurs? Lovely balanced footballer but his apparent lack of interest and work ethic was horrible to watch. No excuses next week. We should be heading there with a significant cushion and no concerns about the dodgy pitch. At a time when we repeatedly get the clubs finances rammed down our throat, we can't afford another Albion Rovers.
  5. We need more than 2 players. For all the midfielders at the club, tonight was a reminder that we really struggle to maintain possession. And if you are going to have Vigurs strolling about the park, you need someone running off him.
  6. Really good for 25 mins, utterly unprofessional for 20 mins then abysmal in the 2nd half. Same flaws as last season, can't keep possession, can't win the ball back, can't defend cross balls. And at the moment we don't have the quality at front and back that bailed us out time after time last season. Can't get my head round why we started all the flicks and tricks at 2-0. Somewhat insulting towards out opponents who more than deserved the draw in the end.
  7. I'd be delighted to see Pearson back. And his pal Quinn.
  8. Struggle to see us interested in another central midfielder.
  9. Yet to bother with a ticket. Waiting for the guilt to kick in. Can't see there being much more than 4,000 there.
  10. Is he the good one that is still at Celtic?
  11. I don't know him personally like many on here but at his age, who wouldn't.
  12. Agreed. The media also got a fair bit of mileage out of us saying how good she'll be for Hibs. Hope all the young prospects are signed up.
  13. This would appear to be a key loss given how well we have managed a small squad for years. Probably not the last to be headhunted by Dempster.
  14. Agree with all that. At the time of the Anier sale, there were quotes from McCall to suggest that we had a few irons in the fire for striking options so we'll see what materialises. By the end of the week, we'll have a firmer idea of what potential income we have over the next month. If we do the business against Icelandic mob and draw a PSV or Lyon then it may change the quality of player we are pursuing.
  15. So do ourselves and Rangers receive a small % of the McCormack fee? Or would Ross have had to move country for us to be entitled to a 'solidarity contribution'?
  16. Would be surprised if we rushed into offering Clarkson a deal. McCall took his time deciding on a fully fit Anier. No details leaked about the closed door game? Dalziel Park?
  17. No idea what the script is with Quinn but he should get a team in England easily enough. There was talk of Championship teams being interested towards the end of the season.
  18. Ojamaa to Hibs would be a severe boot to the balls. Surely no.
  19. Of course not. Various signs throughout last season, including the recall of Hollis towards the end, to suggest that our highest paid keeper isn't rated. I wouldn't fancy our chances of moving him on but you never know.
  20. I suspect we are trying to offload Nielsen.
  21. I've not see any highlights of Clarkson's performances in the last 2 years but when he was doing alright at Bristol City, I seem to recall him playing a deeper role. For me, if he comes in, we still need 1 or 2 out and out attacking options to replace the quality of McFadden and Anier. Regarding his freebie to Algarve, I think Clarkson has raked in more than enough cash for the club to be entitled to this.
  22. Squad numbers confirmed and we have no number 1... Looks like Euan Murray is away too.
  23. Not surprising if he is training with us. Would be happy to see him back at the club, primarily as cover for Moore in the short term, but I do hope plans are in place to invest in a striker with potential. If Clarkson does return though, then be could play a significant role in the coming years like Lasley and Hammell. Will be interesting to see if we have 1 or 2 trialists heading out to Algarve.
  24. Not a club to take many risks so this would be a bold move by St Johnstone. Good luck to them, building on success..Suspect May will be offski but it would be interesting to see both upfront together.
