  1. Think it's fairly evident that GM will have little to do with contract. Wonder if the Director that funded Faddy's salary will be contributing to the budget this year.
  2. Hibs won't get relegated. Given the efforts Dempster went to last year, Hibs will be in for him if he can pass a medical.
  3. Hibs I'd expect. Shame it didn't work out, always a hero.
  4. Nobody want to sponsor a league that involves Celtic and not Rangers. Various companies that had interests in both clubs pulled out of Celtic when Rangers were liquidated. Doncaster is not cut out for the job but clubs need to take far more responsibility given the drop in quality.
  5. Speaks volumes for the club that a player of McManus' experience and calibre is so quick to sign up for 2 years. He seems really settled.
  6. All the work and success in recent years deserves to culminate in an unforgettable European night. I'd love to see us getting a wee fun like the Odense year and hold our nerve.

    Aberdeen

Fitting farewell from Hutch. Storming performance.
  8. The team we had last year was special, to surpass the points total of that squad, while up against a superior Aberdeen and Dundee United, is a baffling achievement. McCall, his staff and the players deserve huge credit for their phenomenal work ethic and will to win. We've never seen such a consistent Motherwell team. Thank you Motherwell. Roll on a kind draw in Europe and having a right good go.
  9. Brilliant determination from Reid to get there. Couldn't be sweeter.
  10. We were fucking pish but that was fucking immense. Dodgy goal against that lot, couldn't be sweeter....
  11. He parried a cross onto the penalty spot in the first 5 minutes. He rushed a throw out and gave away possession. He clutched thin air at a corner. He stood watching a cross hit the woodwork.
  12. Brutal. Playing ultra defensive when you have a bombscare keeper isn't good for the nerves.
  13. All out attack McCall... Hopefully Kerr is at right back with Reid trying to do a job in midfield. Could work if we get to half time level.
  14. Wonder what the team will be tomorrow. Hopefully we have a far more solid shape than the recent effort at Tannadice. I'd be bringing Leitch in for Zaine and pushing Vigurs out to the left. Hopefully McFadden is fit as we've been struggling to keep hold of the ball whenever he gets substituted.
  15. 20+ goals in a team that doesn't create a huge amount of chances, Sutton just edges out Lasley for me. Lasley will continue to be the heartbeat of the team for a couple of seasons yet but he needs a bit of dig alongside him. Our midfield has been outplayed a wee bit too often this season. Nobody else in the running really. Mention to Twardzik because without his positive impact at our lowest ebb, I doubt we'd have turned around our season in the manner we did.
  16. Hutch's exit is a given and I'd be very surprised to see Ainsworth stay. I love Faddy to bits and would hate to see him play against us but his injuries are getting the better of him. Depending on who leaves, we may have scope to bring a fair few in. I'd like to see a wee but more pace and athleticism down the wide areas, possibly from fullback, to give the likes of Vigurs options. We also need a proper midfielder to break up play and maintain possession. Half decent goalie obviously a must too.
  17. Terrible news about Moore, feared the worst last night when he went down. Hopefully he can make a full recovery. Time for Erwin to get a wee bit of exposure in the interim.
  18. We wanted the 3 points in any fashion possible and we got them, just. Phenomenal achievement to get 67 points this season and secure European qualification. How we've quiet managed it given some of our second half performances is testament to the character and drive of the squad. Helluva improvement required for Sunday. Let's see if we can grind out one more result.
  19. Disappointed that there has been no initiative to boost the attendance on Wed.
  20. Suppose there is the notion that going to Aberdeen only needing a point may go against us.
  21. Miller is a Scotland favourite of mine but he shouldn't be and won't be the route we're going down. We've invested significantly in Anier and Moore has real promise. I therefore don't see us in the market for a striker this summer. If Faddy goes, I'd be looking for more of a Murphy style replacement down the left. Miller will go it whoever offers more at Ibrox or Easter Road.
  22. If McManus stays, we should be bringing in a young centre half to develop alongside him and hopefully sell on. And that isn't likely to be Fraser Kerr as we need one centre half that can cope with players running at them. I'd keep Reid if he's happy to stay for buttons due to his versatility and energy. Shame we lost Saunders to injury, he was miles ahead of any the options we have now.
  23. Cummins has barely got off the bench at Dundee.
  24. In 25 years of going to Fir Park, one of my all time favourites. Few players like him in modern football. He done well to get over his early injury issues when he was 18/19. Next step is to make the most of his attributes and play at a high level in England. Wish him all the best wherever he ends up.
