Good luck to him with the rest of his career.
I was never convinced by him but I thought he was a good sort to have around the squad. Given our frailties I'd have been tempted to use him a fair bit this season.
Murphy wasn't the best candidate as we would be entitked to compensation. Best candidates were Law and Randolph. I appreciate that there isn't much we can do if offers don't come in but if the suggestion that Law is signing a pre-contract is Sheff United is true then we have been well and truly stitched up.
Agreeing a deal on Dec 31st for a guy that has scored a hatful of goals in recent weeks, underlines how desperate we are. Poor management from the current regime yet again.
Absolute buttons for a proven goalscorer that has been with the club for over 10 years. Hope it works out for Murphy but believe he should have been aiming a bit higher than Sheffield United.
If Ojamma isn't on a half decent money as has been suggested, I'd hope that Dempster would offer him a new contract using some of the money freed up by Murphy's departure.
Baffles me that Murphy would sign for a League 1 club just now rather than keep his options open. Particularly when he knocked back Blackpool last season.
Having lost my gran on Thursday I'm not sure if I'll make the game today. Indeed, the O'Donnell tribute might just be a wee but too much for me.
Do us all proud today Motherwell.
Yeah, good to hear McCall making some positive noises on the transfer front.
As for O'Dea, he'd be an ideal signing but I suspect that if he is training with us, it's probably down to the Stewart Kerr connection as much as anything.
Good to see a switch in formation today to help shore up the defence. Shame that Ramsden appears to have picked up a knock again.
The most frustrating aspect this season has been that in spite of our defensive woes, when we got for the throat we are capable of murdering just about any team in the league. Great to see it come off today.
Hopefully Ojamaa's performance erases the notion that £200k is an acceptable offer. Outstanding talent.
Wembley was the best game in his career.
Had all the ability in the world but he didn't have the determination or mentality to improve himself down south or abroad like Lambert, Collins and McAllister. Yes he's had a very good career but his h*n mentality held him back from being a class act.
Far from a role model IMO and I'd be very disappointed to see him at FP.
He's been pretty poor all season Gaz.
Excellent servant to the club given his number of appearances for such a young guy but it's probably best for all parties that he moves on.
Yeah couldn't 't the well society funds get us through to the summer knowing that Murphy would get us decent compensation.
If funds are so tight, our cup performances bewilder me.
I can't see the sense of us inviting offers if we would get compo at the end of the season.
Am I missing something?
Regardless, I hope he gets a move that fulfils his potential. Would love to see him in a Scotland jersey.
Can't see Murphy opting for Sheff Utd when he knocked back Blackpool. And I'd like to think that a contract offer is on the table for him. We can't afford to fuck this one up.
I'll say again, Aberdeen got £400k compensation for an out of contract Chris Maguire.
Can anyone confirm how the age limit works, given that Murphy turns 24 in August.
