  1. I'm pretty sure we are well beyond signing the likes of Jim Paterson thankfully. McCall is clearly after a left sided defender with a bit of pace that can cover both centre half and left back. Gunning and Reynolds fit the bill. Page certainly has something to offer but I'm not quite sure where he fits in. Still amazed if we aren't actively pursuing another striker. Higdon and Murphy need some source of competion as they both tend to go through purple patches. Ideal situation would be selll Randolph, use his wages to bring in the keeper McCall has lined up and use a small proportion of the transfer fee to bolster the squad with 1 or 2 significant additions. The rest of the transfer fee would then help tide things over in the absence of Boyle/Fan ownership.
  2. Could see Murphy getting a move by the end of August if he makes a blistering start to the season. Still think Randolph is the likelist to depart though.
  3. www The one thing that may go in favour of Forbes is that I suspect we will go with a 3 man midfield on a regular basis this season. If he gets the opportunity to play in his preferred position he really needs to shine. Make or break season.
  4. Rumour was kicking about a few months ago that Novo's agent was approaching a host of SPL clubs. However I doubt any Scottish provinical club could afford him unless the likes of Dundee United selling Goodwillie could make a decent wage available. Given that Rangers are willing to offer David Healy a new contract, i wouldn't be entirely surprised if Novo ended up back at Ibrox.
  5. I'd be amazed if we don't bring in another striker.
  6. Hutch and Gunning were also tremendous in the 3-0 demolition of Dundee United at Fir Park. There will be a few bombscares along the way but I'd settle for that duo. If the news on Jennings is true then he seems to be a bit of an unusual character. Don't get me wrong, he is so crucial to us that I'd settle for him signing on a week to week basis but you would think he would be looking for a bit of financial security somewhere along the line.
  7. Decent looking top actually, shame you can't take your eyes away from the Sponsor though. Not so keen on amber shorts...
  8. Randolph to Swansea could be a goer given that we are actively trying to sell him.
  9. Great point by Albi and Andy P. The gulf in pricing between juveniles and adults is where a significant chunk of the support is lost. Particularly when you are at an age when there far more ways to spend a Saturday than go to Fir Park.
  10. Heffernan signed, Harkins on his way and a few more to follow I imagine. Last year they suffered big style from the loss of Mixu and Sammon but I think they'll regroup well, put together a decent squad and surprise a few this season. Shiels was the architect behind the football they played last season.
  11. Think we will finish between 6th and 8th. I reckon we will be pretty solid at home but I fear for us away from Fr Park. I like McCall a lot but I think consistency is something we will struggle for under his reign. However, if he can get us performing week in week out then we could end up challenging for Europe. Race for 3rd should be wide open as Dundee Utd won't be as strong and Jeffries is a one trick pony. A good Scottish Cup run and a league win over both halves of the Old Firm will do me. With regards to the rest of the league, I think Rangers will run away with it and ICT or St Mirren to get relegated.
  12. Anyone who takes on finance to invest in a football club needs their head looking at.
  13. Pretty sure he is in the same boat as Porter, Humphrey et al when it comes to his contract situation. Major coup from McCall if he manages to pull this one off.
  14. After reading this in January, I thought Nicky Law was well out of our league: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rotherham_utd/8462681.stm
  15. Steven Caldwell has been offered a deal in Scotland but there is no chance we will be in for him. I'm surprised that there hasn't been more speculation given that McCall stated that he was looking at players that were keen on a return to Scotland. I've still got my hopes pinned on Kevin MacDonald should Jennings depart. A former target of ours, Craig Forsyth, was about to sign for Watford but I imagine that may fall through now with Malky Mackay landing the Cardiff job.
  16. Weather permitting, I'm liking the look of Tynecastle on Christmas Eve. Hopefully we have our squad in place for the beginning of the season as we have been handed a favourable draw.
  17. Hibs v Sunderland 6th Aug. Not sure if there are any others.
  18. Am I the only one that wouldn't dream about pishing away £300+ on some sort of 'feel good' trip?
  19. I thought Birmingham had the option to extend his contract by two years, thus entitling them to a transfer fee should anyone pursue him. If he ends up at Celtic, I'll spew.
  20. He was supposedly very close to signing for Peterhead. It appears he has had a change of heart about going FT. Doubt he will be on our radar.
  21. Agreed. Given the vacancy was mentioned on here a good few weeks back you would imagine Motherwell would have someone lined up for such a crucial time. Get the Accies fella in.
  22. Regardless of opposition, all friendlies at home are shite. I appreciate there are a few '\Well fans who follow Leeds but the majority of our support won't see any significant appeal of an above average Championship side. I'm sure Leeds will bring a good support which will be a welcome boost to our coffers.
  23. Only caught our game against Sunderland and the standard looking woeful. There was never any doubt Rangers would win it.
