I'd agree. McGhee is steering things in a similar way to McCall did. He'll be hoping to get a performance out the players tonight and add another £100k to budget. From what I can gather it was also McGhee that shared the El Bakhtaoui story with the BBC at the weekend. Again, possibly trying to ensure every penny is available to him while putting a wee bit of public pressure on Scott McDonald. More generally, I'd be surprised if we aren't currently talking to English clubs about the sale of 1 or 2 players, namely Johnson and Moult.

Always liked the boy Leahy when I've seen him on the telly. Under contract unfortunately.

That's pretty decent although I suspect we are going down the petrol blue route. Guess we won't see anything until we have a sponsor. Interestingly, according to p&b 2 or 3 premier clubs are going with the same shirt sponsor, McEwan Fraser.

Surprised we are offering McFadden and Samson contracts at this stage. Reduced contracts to be expected for Lasley and Hammell as you anticipate a reduction in contribution from those two on the park but I'd like to think both will continue to have a big influence at the club. Wee bit harsh on McManus as you'd expect him to be an ever-present barring injury but I suppose we are cutting our cloth accordingly in order to pay back Les.

Just a note on Scott McDonald, when the club announced a 1 year contract with a 1 year option, I interpreted the option as being within the clubs' control. Seemingly that's not the case. Hope we keep hold of him. I thought a signing such as El Bakhtaoui would materialise with the departure of Moult, Marvin or Ainsworth.

So the only time there has been a hint of bother with our end of season tradition has been when Celtic or Rangers have been in town. I appreciate the club were in a difficult position with 'ramifications' hanging over them but maybe we should have showed a bit of backbone in fighting the unprecedented and disproportionate action. On a side note, it would be interesting to hear the views of the Well Society on yesterday's events.

Given the scale of the security operation today, which would have cost a hefty 5 figure sum, I can only assume the ramifications are in the points deduction/closed doors ballpark. Punishment that goes well beyond the scale of the 'crime'. The scene at Fir Park was an utter embarrassment for Scottish football today. From facing a wall of stewards and mesh fencing, you get home to see Bocelli sing Nessun Dorma in front of 30,000 Leicester City fans who've just been treated to free beer and pizza. I like to defend Scottish football but today resembled the backwater league that many portray it to be.

Marvin for the first 30 minutes. Nobody else in contention. Swanson decent for them.
-
The first time I can recall not hanging back for the 'lap of honour'. Poor performance on the park overshadowed by a display of utter disrespect to the fans.

Lineup reinforces why a left back should be one of our priorities this summer. Hopefully get a decent open game today.

Affordability isn't an issue for me but value is. In 3 or so seasons, I've went from £300 in Cooper to £345 minus a cup game. So a 20% rise isn't decent value in most environments. Particularly when the initial rise was down to the absence of Rangers, which is in conflict with the reasoning for this seasons' rise. Looking at the bigger picture, more has to be done to attract more fans into the stands. Despite getting told that ST sales are up each year, our core support looks to have fallen. Not ideal in an era of fan ownership where monthly contributions from the support is integral to our sustainability.

I've kept an eye on Dixon this season as I've been banging on about needing a new fullback for some time. As others have said though, his level has fallen dramatically since his Scotland cameo. Not sure what has happened there.

The fact we don't have an able replacement for Hammell is hopefully a prod towards our transfer dealings in the summer. Chalmers is woeful and the u20s have been playing without a natural left back for a long time. Fairly confident Campbell will be above Leitch in the pecking order if we opt not to play Gomis. Think we'll lose this actually. St Johnstone are rotten but seem to have the bit between their teeth.
-
£150k transfer fee down the drain. Talented boy by all accounts but there is chat that he's as big a rocket as Gavin Gunning.
-
Can't grumble too much at a top 6 pumping. Very surprised Laing started though given McGhee's comments. Hopefully we regroup and sign off in style at Fit Park next week. Maybe Campbell will get a start with Lasley suspended.

A few seasons ago we were asked to pay more to help ease the loss of Rangers. Now we are asked to pay more for the privilege of watching them. I don't quite understand that. There would have been plenty of discussion around the pricing structure but I think the club have arrived at a poor decision. At a time when the club are on the brink of fan ownership and the WS are appealing to squeeze more money out the core support, a freeze to ST prices would have been a welcome decision. If I let my head rule my heart, I'll not be getting a ST as it no longer represents value and is solely a badge of loyalty.
-
I don't like this categorising of games. I assume we are talking Rangers, a game that some fans will stay away from. If you make 15 games a ST is becoming less justifiable, particularly if the flexi ticket becomes an option.
-
Surprised by the increase.
-
I was actually amazed by how relatively strong Campbell looked. He's come on a fair bit since I last seen him and closer to the first team than I thought.
-
If McGhee thinks he's good enough then yes of course.

Dylan Falconer represented Scotland u15s in 2014. Can't recall hearing of any Scotland call-ups since.
-
Moore did break in to the team at a young age before a horrific injury. If he's fully recovered from that, then he will have a future at Motherwell. Given that his striking buddy ended up at Leeds, I hope he gets a chance with us again.

A special night for following the 'Well. We've had some real quality bubbling under the surface the last 2/3 years and glad all concerned were rewarded tonight. Loving the love for Campbell, the boy is dynamite. Craigan and Lasley pinpointed him at the beginning of the season and done a terrific job developing him. Bumped into Moult on the way out, great to see the majority of the 1st team there. Real togetherness about the club just now.

Developers are spending considerable time battling for planning permission to build 1,000+ homes across other parts of Motherwell. Meanwhile they don't touch the vast space at Ravenscraig with a barge pole. Think that tells its only story regarding concerns over land. Was there not a protest recently too to ensure a school didn't get built there?

I'm no sure Jack would get in the team. Expect Robbie to feature.
