Brill has been out with a bad knee injury for over a year. Would be hoping for a more inspiring option to challenge the uninspiring Samson. Sad to hear Hammell is possibly struggling to get a top tier club. Years of playing week in week out while often carrying knocks and strains, possibly catching up with him.

Most folk on holiday and McGhee has been away with Scotland. Having said that, I'd expect Lasley/Hamell/Hall decisions within the next week or so.
-
Pleased with the outcome. Im away the weekend the h**s are in town but pleased 2 decent away trips have fell on a Saturday.
-
I'm happy with that too. McManus has done really well under McGhee.
-
I do agree that they should be offered reduced terms in line with the expectation that their contribution will taper out. I expect both players would be content with this too. The level of cuts however may be to the extent that they could comfortably get a better deal elsewhere in Scotland. If that's the case, good luck to them.

Law moving on would be welcome news given how tight the budget is. I would be sad to see Hammell and/or Lasley leave in such fashion with no farewell at the end of the season. However I can fully understand them not being happy if the offers are as derisory as the tone suggests. The joys of proposed fan ownership starting from a heavy deficit...

If Ainsworth is available for £100-200k I'd expect a few clubs to be sniffing about. I'd be very disappointed to see a player of Lionel's quality leave but if McGhee can't get the best out of him, then it's best for both parties to engineer a move.

Didn't have the opportunity to watch the draw last night but I'm amazed that there was no pre-announced transparent schedule to the home/away split and order of fixtures. Disappointing approach that will be open to conspiracy jibes. As an aside, there is scope for upsets in the group stage as most teams will be treating this as pre-season games.
-
Why wouldn't Ibrox be televised? It's the biggest game of the group stages.
-
Hopefully get Stranraer and Annan away. h**s will be avoided regardless.
-
Pleased to see Moore sign. He's the type of player that could benefit from a McGhee pre-season. If it wasn't to work out, I imagine he'd get loaned out at end of August. Same applies with Ferguson. I don't have any time for Samson but he won't be the worst keeper in the league. Positive noises regarding Skippy, that's the contract we need to get over the line.

This has potential to make for an interesting fortnight in July. Although a lot depends on the luck of the draw. I'd much prefer away day to QoS and Ayr than Rangers and Airdrie. Best thing about the revised format is the November final. All it's missing is a European place but that's never going to happen with the current coefficient.

I can recall Murphy and Bannan being a step above for the u21s while Goodwillie and Griffiths sat on the reason. For whatever reason, we couldn't generate the interest in Murphy, Hutchinson and Randolph that there quality deserved. All water under the bridge now though.
-
Assume we'll hear about the out of contract players within the next week. Ben Hall is the interesting one for me, the boy has potential but a development few presumably in the region of £200k wouldn't be a bad consolation.

As has been touched upon above, people with the fresh ideas and experience in how to articulate their message in the modern world are required to compliment the skillset of those currently on the Board. Indeed with recent political campaigns, I'm certainly aware of 1 or 2 Motherwell fans via social media who have excelled in driving a campaign message and sharing beliefs that can be backed up with in-depth knowledge. Unfortunately, I suspect young men with such drive are likely to be busy carving out their own careers and unable to devote the time to the WS that their passion would demand. Consequently, we are left with a Board that doesn't come close to representing a cross section of our support and the sense of apathy is there for all to see. My hope with the WS gaining control was that the above would becomes less of an issue as the club and society would be under the one umbrella and you'd have characters like Alan Burrows driving the message home in an articulate and timely fashion.

I can imagine. We appear to be in a right old mess.
-
Yeah precisely and he should be held accountable for irresponsible spending.
-
All of which I gather was funded through a Les loan that we'll be paying back for years to come. Really concerning that nobody at the club was able to pull in the reigns on reckless spending at a time when 'self-sufficient' was the buzz phrase.
-
My initial concern is that McGhee has been landed with a reduced budget he didn't sign up to.

Periscope a welcome addition. Rather depressing but worthwhile watch. I'm afraid the demographics of the audience underlines the lack of engagement and possible interest in fan ownership. McMahon is the one with his finger on the pulse and it would appear fan ownership is a long way off. Rightly so, if we don't have a sustainable model at present. Reading between the lines, am I surmising Jim's views accurately: - After the takeover, budget went through the roof, presumably with a 5 year plan in mind. - In condradiction to the takeover agreement, Les is looking to sell before the club is close to being self-sustainable. - no deal will be done unless the debt is effectively wiped. Are these the reasons why Derek Weir opted to leave?

From what I've seen in recent weeks, Sibbald has fallen away somewhat while Alston offers little. Although, the end of a season isn't always the best time to judge a player. Vaulks and Leahy would be good signings for provincial premiership sides but agree they'll be looking for bigger moves.

Is the latest Rangers statement for real? Absolute heads gone. http://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/club-statement-60/ Brilliant.
-
The elephant in the room is with both invasions, Rangers were the opposition. Many people hate these bigoted bastards and with good reason. Things got out of hand but I understand that while thousands of Hibs fans entered the pitch in a state of unprecedented euphoria, a few took the opportunity to get it up them. Rangers fans failing to accept defeat with dignity is why it really kicked off.

I work with guys who keep spreadsheets of the food in their fridge. This isn't nerdy in the slightest. Good stats. Hopefully the league cup throws up a rare trip.
-
There will be major repercussions. In the meantime the establishment will use it to deflect from a piss poor Rangers team. Just like they did a year ago.
