  1. The level of player coming to Scotland is a relative low in my 25 years of watching football. While the increasing financial gulf is a an almost impossible hinderence to overcome, any improvement to the Scottish profile can only be a positive IMO.
  2. If we want to be self sustainable then we have to welcome any move that raises the profile of Scottish football. Brendan Rodgers is a terrific appointment that should eventually result in a better standard of player fancying a move to Scotland.
  3. While the money might still be flying in, I think the general appeal of the CL is in significant decline. Pretty sure the viewing figures will back that up.
  4. Aye the reports on Chalmers from Falkirk were poor. Seemed strange to me that we rushed into a signing a boy that trained with us in run-up to Rangers games. I can mind coming away from the Bradford friendly at Grangemouth with 2 thoughts. Moult had potential to be quality with a bit of experience alongside him. Chalmers looked like a fish out of water.
  5. Do we know yet if the league cup groups are regionalised?
  6. Goals galore. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7o7TXnlFHgQ
  7. Think the Faddy one baffles most, particularly when McGhee is talking about a squad of 20 and every penny being accounted for. McGhee must be convinced he still has a lot to offer with the right fitness regime.
  8. Robbie would be a loss, like the look of him in u20s. Scott is in charge of youth recruitment aye?
  9. So no surprise releases from the u20s? Interesting to see what Craig Moore does. I gather that he's enjoyed his time at Ayr but listening to McCall yesterday, he wants Ayr to stay part time.
  10. He's since tweeted to say it was a typo, meant to say 'first' year. Not surprised to see Leitch go but hopefully he gets something sorted out. Needs a run of games at a lower level.
  11. There was a tweet from Burrows to suggest the kit details would be unveiled 'a bit later than normal'. Ideally, I think they would have wanted to promote the Past Present Future theme by releasing the kits on Wednesday to mark the cup anniversary.
  12. Can't wait to see how he gears up the Scotland team for the Italy and France games.
  13. A meaningless game has turned into a red neck and taken the gloss off what was a decent season.
  14. Disgraceful. Naive tactics from the manager. Poor application from the players. You can understand a drop-off in performance when there is nothing to play for at the end of a long but rewarding season. This however is shameful.
  15. That's the Luke Watt experiment over with. Such a wild call. After the youth cup final, I didn't expect to see him for some time.
  16. Lasley played the 90 at Parkhead did he not? We rarely get into a game without him starting.
  17. Generally speaking, Motherwell are pretty tough to watch when Lasley and Hammel are absent. Next season we do need to find suitable replacement while tapering down the contribution of the experienced duo. Would be amazed if Watt appeared for the 2nd half. Beyond dreadful.
  18. Seeing today why Luke Watt hasn't featured in McGhee's plans. We are brutal all over the park though, heads not focused on the game.
  19. Game for Luke Watt out of nowhere. Not quite sure how we'll line up with Hammell missing. Assume Campbell is injured buy fair play to David Turnbull getting on the bench, think he's still 16.
  20. Bring back McHugh, some boy. I can mind he had a header wrongly disallowed in the League Cup when Hibs went on to win on pens. Since then, he's scored 5 times in last 10 mins against Hibs. On the downside, I think tonight put's an end to my notion that Luke Leahy could be a Motherwell target one day. Great left back.
  21. Thomas, Watt and Campbell under contract. Mackin and Ferguson in McGhee's plans. Hall offered a contract. The only name I can think of that could be considered a surprise by some is Ross McLean who has been very unfortunate with injury.
  22. Going by today's press conference, McGhee seems keen to get Mackin and Ferguson more involved next season along with Thomas and Campbell. Yet to hear back from Ben Hall's agent...
