What was the society board's decision at the time of executive board meeting, all I've read suggests that the society board vote was after the executive vote; therefore at that time, as StAndrew7 (I think, apologies if it wasn't) pointed out, it could be reasonably stated that they did enact this wishes of the membership who said they would consider an offer reducing the WS stake. And they now have that opportunity to reject or accept.
-
Technically it was only the personal opinion of the representatives as they didn't/don't know the opinions of the "thousands of Motherwell fans " at that time. Although I suspect the board split is similar to the overall split of the thousands of Motherwell fans

He's been injured for a while and I suspect he has been "trying his hand' at coaching and shown enough to get a coaching role. Maybe he's the one who has progressed Theo Bair and that's why he has been given the role but I don't expect that some posters will accept that as a possibility.
-
But he was a hybrid of both so not really comparable. If he had played against Odense we would have won be 3 or 4 as he was an expert at coming late in at the back post, and we had numerous similar chances in that game. Jamie Murphy is another who is was a worse striker than Bair or Vale and a not as good as Spittal, Miller and Slattery as a midfielder but still overall better than all of them.

Do we though? Aberdeen on the last day, and Livingston for a top 6 may say otherwise. Adding in beating the old Rangers then late goal against Hibs to avoid relegation. 6-1 against Newco.

I was only making the point that some clubs have died, it's debatable whether it's 50/50 in my life time (so taking out Third Lanark) though really it's 100% both Rangers 2012 and Airdrieonians/Airdrie United / Clydebank are totally different entities. I'm pretty much on the fence (awaiting further info) on whether being totally fan owned or not would work.
-
I'm sure the Third Lanark, Clydebank and Gretna fans would disagree.
-
The thing is if they had changed from 2 points for a win to 3 points a year earlier, McLean would also have been second. A year later and McLeish's team would have been 3rd.

Good job this website wasn't about in the 90's, club legend Dougie averaged less than 6 a season as a striker.
-
yes but 95% of the time they berate the other team, which is part and parcel of the game. Most team's fans boo their team at half time or full time not during the game. I think it was Duncan Shearer that said he would never join Motherwell as they abused their own players.
-
At that point he wouldn't have been running the club, it was Bryan Jackson, and the administrators would have the say on who was released, I'm not an expert on Administration law but I doubt Boyle would have legally been allowed to do it anyway. I'm sure Bryan Jackson also ridiculed the players' claim that they were told by admin staff and it was a one of his senior CA's.

Could we afford him? 3-4 years development fees to Leeds, is a fair bit more than 3-4 years at Motherwell

Was that not the same season we then lost to Rangers in the semi after being 2 up at half time to a penalty after a Derek Johnston dive on the half way line. The Celtic game (I think) was the first Motherwell score I remember
-
Neither did Ally Mc Coist
-
That was ridiculous, Cantwell got away with 2 definite yellows, that was never even a free kick
-
Wow the line it about metre away from the defender, that's miles offside
-
Just one thing I've noticed is the page numbers appear to be white on a white square so you can't read it.
-
It's still so inconsistent, which VAR should have been able to sort out. They allowed the similar, Füllkrug goal last against Costa Rica when he was miles off side and the ball was played back in to a German who chested it to Fullkerg who then scored. There was a goal earlier on in the tournament which was disallowed because a player was deemed to be blocking the view of the keeper who was already diving when there was a deflection which put the ball in the other corner, in the next game a shot was hit from outside the area which almost hit a player in an offside position standing in front of the keeper but it was deemed OK.
-
The thing is it doesn't matter how you define offside there will still be two lines drawn and the same arguments, it would just be that the big toe stops there being clear daylight
-
Do you actually understand what you post. You ridiculed someone for suggesting Tom Rogic as a decent signing, by saying Celtic wouldn't let him walk away from the last year of his contact but Celtic have already done just that, making your ridicule ridiculous. I'm going to take Mark Twain's advise now and sign out
-
Take it you don't know Celtic have announced Rogic and Bitton are leaving at the end of the season
-
One trophy in their history!!
-
Shannon's was never a red card was at least a yard away from the player, I'm pretty sure the club appealed it and won (which was unheard of then) **memory may be paying trick on me though

I don't post very often these days, but gutted to hear this; Andy was one of the very few people on here who's opinion was always respected. Andy you will be missed. Condolences to your family and friends.
